City Cat
Wow!!! that unlocked a memory from deep in my sub-conscious! I used to get Shoot magazine. Remember having it on order at the Newsagent. From memory, we almost never got a mention and unfortunately I lost all my copies when we moved house as a kid

YCbrs
I did collect Match! For a few years when I was younger, won star letter one month and got myself a load of free kit which was cool. Have no idea which issue it was and have lost mine but it is a nice memory none the less.

Isawjonshaw
What about Look-In?!?! In all fairness there was a decent footy magazine in the early 90’s called 90 minutes.

ralphindevon
It was brilliant when as a12 year old we got promoted to the top flight, all of a sudden we had players featuring in Shoot on a regular basis. Anything City related in a national paper or magazine or on national TV was a real thrill The Q&A in Shoot seemed to always have the same answer to the question- Which famous person would you most like to meet? Muhammad Ali

The Constant Rabbit
Dunno if you are aware John but when 'Joe90' merged with 'TV Century 21' - the Gerry Anderson's paper comic from the 70's, they did a full colour centrefold of every league team including City obviously. I had a few of the earlier ones - and the posters were really good. Not City sadly. Hope that helps?

TRL
I had Match, then I went with 90 minutes which was a far better magazine. I reckon they must be in the attic at my mothers house in a Suitcase. I'll have to go up there one day and see if I can find them. I remember a big article in one of them Concerning Biff and is record number of consecutive appearances in the league, which was better than the nearest goal keeper. Outstanding achievement seeing he played in Midfield, defense and sometime up top.
formerly known as ivan
This brings back memories! Used to love doing the Match quiz each week with mates on the walk to school. Shame magazines like this have died out over the years.
Andre_The_Giant
I was Match, my brother was Shoot in the nineties. Can remember Match mag’s weird obsession with Wimbledon player Peter Fear. And Matchman’s jaunts with the Liverpool ‘spice boys’. What it lacked in football insight, it made up for with good humour.
Oh Louie louie
Backpass football magazine covers the new book out on citys four seasons in top flight. Great picture of ian botham training with Scunthorpe on the back too. In the last issue a great picture of a young shaun taylor and steve neville playing for exeter. Grem
Hi John. Yes I collected both Shoot & Match and also spent a fortune trying to fill the Panini albums. Found some cut outs that have been stashed away in the garage which may interest some. Team photos below. More to follow.

Oh Louie louie
Last i heard of mark gavin, he was a pro gambler i think? No defender could get near him in that promotion year. Good interview in backpass magazine by gary thompson, the ex wba striker on how poorly he was treated by the gas. Well worth a read.
