Yate went 1-0 up on 7 minutes and held out until the hour. By all accounts, deserved to win. I’m seriously debating whether Lodge Road on Tuesday as a walkable distance trumps AG and a 45 minute drive!

Contrasting FA cup memories looking at the Corinthian Casuals v St Albans tie.

One a 0-0 and being chased down the street by Millwall fans with a baseball bat.

The other, the biggest City win I’ve ever seen.

It would be great, we`d dine out on a Yate win for years! For comedy effect though, them losing to Pontefract Collieries would be hilarious.

Went to their game today against Halifax , thinking of going to replay next week

Not sure if I can make it, but the Late game looks an interesting one given the draw.

What's the Parking like at Yate's ground, not been there for about 35 years.

It’s ok at the ground spaces wise (decent area and field behind) but a bit of a mare to exit the car park afterwards as it’s  single way in/out including the pedestrians. The best bet is to park on the trading estate opposite and walk over. Ground holds about 2000 - although you’ll get some walk ups it’s right on the outskirts of the town so you do get a lot of locals driving up.

Is that the St Albans we put 9 past? Obviously a long time ago!

This is what we need to give some respite from our own soulless travails: a dilapidated/higgledy-piggledy ground where pretty much everyone has a restricted view, packed to the rafters and Nobes pulling the strings for a 6th tier outfit. Knew it was going a salve to all that’s awful when a cardboard FA cup, covered in foil, appeared. St Albans on track to knock out the Goliath’s of Nailsworth and maybe go on a run that sees D Noble’s quadtrick getting our temporary appointment, Colin, the sack.

With those first round draws, I feared the worst for the West country.

But no, going into the 2nd round we have Plymouth, Exeter, Yeovil, Rovers and Cheltenham. How many / will any of them join City in round three?

Exeter could be in trouble though:

The Football Association is investigating whether Exeter City used too many substitutes during their FA Cup win over Bradford City on Tuesday.

The Grecians, who went on to win the game 3-0 in extra time, changed five players during the goalless 90 minutes.

They then brought on Josh Key for Sam Nombe at the start of extra time.

Under FA Cup rules this season clubs can bring on five players during a game, including extra time, with a sixth allowed for a concussion.

Funnily enough I was thinking about it seeing that end that Stockport are attacking. Other than the seats I don’t think that end has changed.

I went to the east end screening. If I remember correctly they couldn’t get the audio working till about 10-15 minutes before end of game. By that time big old Wayne had destroyed them.

Yes, I think I remember something with the audio, long time ago now

What a come back ! Great entertainment. You don’t always need Liverpool and Man City to enjoy a game

Far prefer this to watching Premier League or England.

Fast, direct, skilful, positive English ‘old style’ football. Lovely.

In extreme paranoia....a nightmare scenario awaits?    The Gas get to the 3rd round and we get drawn against them at home.  I would not be confident.  NO........surely it's too horrible to contemplate!  ?

Hope this happens, would be great for the whole City again

Rovers vs Sutton cup tie on the same day as City vs Derby, no change announced yet.

Except WPC Julie and her merry band

Would be delighted if City game moved….my dad’s 80th birthday meal on the Saturday.

Exeter been told they have to replay their replay after the mistakingly used too many subs

They are lucky not to be kicked out of the competition

Appears that officials told both clubs they could make a 6th sub, Bradford were supposedly preparing their 6th at the time they realised they’d got it wrong.

Exeter have come from behind to win 2-1 and travel to Cambridge on Saturday.

All the best to Plymouth, Exeter, Yeovil, Rovers and Cheltenham and I hope they all join City in January's third round..

Well I would cross one off that list, can't wish them all the best, hope they get stuffed on Saturday.

The only people that have been penalised as far as I can see are the 45 Bradford fans that made the near on 600 mile round trip for last nights game.

It`s worth noting that Exeter let the Bradford fans who did turn up (about 80) in for nothing and also are donating all the profits from the game to the Exeter foodbank.

I'd also disagree with the statement earlier in the thread about Exeter being lucky not to get thrown out.

It was an error by the refereeing team that told them it was allowed.

But after realising the error they refused to allow Bradford the same.

Imo a replay was fair, but should have been at Bradford, although what the ref should have done (again, imo) was allow Bradford to make an equal change, then when writing their report acknowledge they made the error and state they allowed the Bradford one too in order to counteract the advantage their error had given to Exeter.

Whatever the outcome the ref was going to get a reprimand in some way, might as well be wrong on the subs twice so that both sides make an equal amount and hold your hands up about it.

Shouldn't have been played at Bradford, they already had their home game and didn't manage to win, FA should have covered all Bradford's costs and the only question was whether you play at Exeter or a neutral venue
