The answer to that question is - they're too dumb to see what is right in front of them. I work in a school, and we had 2 old "temporary" buildings which had been there for 20+ years. We were told by the local authority that they were building us a brand new state of the art building to house both rooms in one building, within the next 2 years. Those 2 old buildings needed so many things doing to them, but we didn't put any money into them - unless it was something essential like new locks or a water heater - because they were being knocked down within 2 years. If they're spending more money on the existing pit, even if it's temporary, there is nothing in the pipeline that is remotely serious about a new ground. Also, why increase the capacity, when you're barely hitting the current (reduced) capacity in the first place? All lip service to keep the happy few on side. They're just too stupid to realise, even after all this time. 3

It's going to be a 40,000 seater stadium with unparalleled conferencing facilities right in the centre of Bristol that will blow " Trashton" out of the water and enable them to reach the Premier League within 5 years.......and all paid for by the developer in exchange for the mem. I mean what developer would pass up the opportunity to grab the mem site valued at £20m, and only have to spend north of £60m to build this premier ready facility in exchange............. it's a no brainer innit? What a time to be alive for Gasheads!
Swede
Wasn't there money borrowed as a loan taken out against the "stadium" (I use the term in its loosest sense) so any prospective purchaser would also have to pay extra on top to settle this debt? Swede
After selling Eastvile all those years ago to become tenants you would've thought becoming tenants once again would be the last thing they would wish, yet here they are with their trusty Knight with a shiny watch about to sell them down the river before he rides off into the sunset or off to Stamford Bridge to watch his beloved Chelsea, and they lap it up like lemmings, Its laughable.

Gazred
It all just comes back to the same issue, they want a free stadium with a huge lease so the annual rent is as cheap as possible. Practically free in other words, they don't have a pot to piss in. Which investors are happy to wait 50-100 years for a return on their investment. They could build anything else you would expect on a site like that and make a profit almost instantly. It's not even a pipe dream, it's just pie in the sky. I see the Pyongyang Post continue to big it up regardless. 1
Swede
I find it astonishing that they believe anything that King Tin Pot says. How he can continually bullshit his way running that joke football club without anybody demonstrating against this type of ownership is beyond me. Truth is he got rid of any dissenters a long time ago and there's no one else willing to challenge him. Now he's building a new stand in ten minutes to increase the capacity that he reduced! Its laughable and utterly tin pot. 2

It's sad really, they are so desperate to sit in a new ground that they are happy to turn a blind eye to little matters like who owns the ground and what the finances mean. It will only be 10 years down the line when they realise they can't raise enough income to compete that the penny will start to drop.

So by his logic, a team getting 8,000 in an 11,000 capacity 'stadium' has better support then a team getting 21,000 in a 26,500 capacity stadium. It's standard #gaslogic at it's finest. It's a very similar logic to when they claim that their away support is amazing 'as a percentage of their home support ' which only goes to highlight how bad their home support is. I will give it to Wally (and the convict too) though, they certainly understand the 15ers fanbase, and play to their delusions on a regular basis. 5 2

That’s exactly what it means & is completely misleading. If Hillsborough can accommodate 30,000 & 25,000 people turn up that’s obviously far better than having a ground which holds 10,000 & 9,000 turn up, but not in his world apparently. He’s trying to pretend they now need a bigger ground because they almost fill a very small one #gaslogic.
Peter O Hanraha-hanrahan
All the Gas need to remember about their supposedly massive and loyal support is that they’ve lowered the capacity of the Mem (which was already a small stadium) and they STILL never fill it. 47 minutes ago, elhombrecito said: It's a very similar logic to when they claim that their away support is amazing 'as a percentage of their home support ' which only goes to highlight how bad their home support is. I don’t know when this came about but it’s all they ever come out with now Never mind the actual numbers, never mind the fact that we sell out more away games than they do…..”Gas away support iz better cos our ******* ome support is ******* shit innit you ******* shithead up dA gaz” Gaslogic. The only fans in the World who deliberately try to highlight how poor their home crowds are in an attempt to make their mediocre away support look better. Open End Numb Legs
If Rovers want to lease it they will need to convince the developers that they are a going concern. If they went bust or back to non league an empty stadium is no use to anyone, hence the thorny issue of capital and whether it would ever get built. A more solid bet for the developers is an indoor arena with a wide variety of potential customers rather than a single loss making sports club.
