Just for interest's sake on a Summer Sunday. I have not included Welsh, Watney, Anglo-Scottish or Anglo-Italian Cups in this review nor friendlies etc.

Just for the record;

Div 4 P 92  W 37  D 27  L 28  F 129   A 114  PTS 138

DIV 3 plus Div 3 South  P 2,010  W 879  D 517  L 614  F 3,199  A 2,586  PTS 2,680 I'm  sure we had a  0-0 where we had a goal disallowed to make it F 3,200.

DIV 1  P 358  W 114  D 94  L 151  F 414  A 498  PTS 314

How did you assemble the points, from points actually awarded so in the days of two points for a win you added two points, then when it became three points for a win you added three points, or did you convert two point victories into three points although at the time City never had that amount of points?

No, I just recorded / looked up points awarded at the time. 3 pts for win was introduced for 81 - 82 season.

If it had been three points for a win in1976, Bolton not City would have been promoted.

City W19 D 15 = 38 + 15 = 53 pts.   3 pts for a win would be 19 pts more = 72.

Bolton W 20 D 12 = 40 + 12 = 52 pts.  3 pts for a win = 20 pts more  = 72 and they had a better goal difference than City

I'm so glad I wrote to Alan Hardaker in 1975 telling him to delay the introduction of 3 points for a win for six years.
