Port Said Red
Putting it down to one injury seems somewhat understated. I wish him well in whatever he does in the future. Good luck big man.
P'head Red
Big shame, will miss those crunching tackles. Hopefully he finds prosperity in a new venture.
Johnny Musicworks
All the best to a man who always gave 100% on the field and the sort of defender we really need right now. Health comes first though and it was a pleasure to have watched him play. Good luck for the future Nathan.

RoystonFoote'snephew
The importance is that he remains fit and healthy for himself and his family. He has been, and will always be missed by City and supporters everywhere. I wish all the best in whatever the future holds for him.

NcnsBcfc
Loved that partnership he had with Flint. The perfect CB for Pearson with his determination, and aggression. Just a massive shame it didn't work out. Good luck in the future Nathan.
Simon79
All the best Nathan. Never gave less than 100% & was very good at what he did. Health is the most important thing of all. As one door closes, another one opens. COYR

swanker
I liked Baker, a bit hot headed at times but a solid centre half who always gave his best. Wish him well for the future
bcfc01
Such a shame, he's exactly what we need at this time. Best of luck to him. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/baker-retires-from-professional-football/

AshtonRobin21
What a fantastic servant he has been to the club. I can't imagine how difficult a decision this must have been, but his health must come first. Wish him nothing but the best.
kiwicolin
Very sad news but his health is more important than football. A brilliant player for us , and will be missed. Good luck for the future.
Dan Robin
Great player and a good servant for City. However, health is more important than football, so I think he made the right choice. Good luck, Nathan! Mattredrobin
Such a shame but has to do what's best for him and his family, hopefully the club can arrange something for the fans to show their appreciation to him.
GrahamC
We knew this was coming, but still sad. Last of the Man U winning side to leave us. His health is far more important & I hope he has a long, full active retirement. Hugely popular & deservedly so.

A testimonial against Villa in the summer perhaps? Good luck Nathan. Wonder if the timing of this means we are offering Bamba a deal? 8
LondonBristolian
It's long been rumoured but is a real loss. Him and Williams were immense together in 2019/2020 and he played a big part in keeping us above water in the early parts of last season. Best of luck to him for the future and I hope he builds a life he enjoys away from playing football.
Mattredrobin
Yes that would be a great way to do it, or at least a Nathan Baker day at a home game or something. Yes potentially with Bamba, but I think the club would have been aware along time ago he was going to retire just waiting for him to be ready to publicly announce it. Silvio Dante
Can only echo what’s been said - always fully committed, always gave 110% in every challenge and put himself in where others feared. That may have hastened this, but he wouldn’t have been Bakes without that commitment. Hopefully see him on the pitch to say goodbyes and thanks properly before an upcoming game.
