Previously a few of the squad were inconsistent, so you could kind of argue that he should at least get a chance to play. Currently however, we're looking more like a unit (with the odd exception/disastrous performance), so with him not signing the contract, he's going to have to accept a reserve role, and/or wait for a chance due to injury or suspension. If he was world class but not signing a contract, then fair enough. He's not, and is currently on his way out. He has to play himself in. He hasn’t been frozen out. Nige said he is giving opportunities to those who aren’t looking elsewhere. Han has said he will continue to keep himself fit and will be ready if / when Nige needs him.
