Olé Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Spoke to him once outside Ashton Gate when he was in charge on the subject of racism at football. Ended up talking for over half an hour. Was a really thoughtful and considerate bloke and would have thought represented the club well. RIP. 9 Quote
RedM Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 I remember him handing out free cups of tea/coffee whilst we were queuing for playoff or Wembley tickets once. Always happy to chat and very knowledgeable. RIP Sir 2 Quote
Claverham_Red Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Recall especially the hard work and passion he showed with the Ashton Vale project. RIP Colin. Quote

TRL Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Rest in Peace Colin. Many moons ago while at uni I used to work behind the bar at Glos Cricket club in the summer months. He was certainly one of those blokes happy to chat to anyone and help out if he had the time to do so. I have to say a genuinely nice bloke. We've lost a good un here. Condolences to the family. Malvern Red Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Very sad news. I was on the Fans Forum when he was here and found him very open, honest and passionate about moving the club forward. Quote
Wealwayseatcheese Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Rest easy Colin. A great figurehead of our club . Thank you for everything you did. RIP Quote
42nite Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 (edited) Only met him once, in the old club shop at the open end of the Williams. The couple of 'assistants' behind the counter were being less than helpful towards me regarding a problem...Colin happened to walk in and when he found out what was going on he gave them a look, and with a few sharp words got them to resolve the matter in seconds. Thanks for your time at City Colin. Rest easy Sir. Edited February 25, 2023 by 42nite 1 Quote
stortfordred Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 RIP. Condolences to family and friends. A great servant to this club. Quote
redrum Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 My wife worked for JDRF (Junior Diabetes charity) back in the 2000s, where Colin was on the Board and couldn't say enough good things about him, and what a good bloke he was. RIP 2 Quote
Mr Popodopolous Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Was a big influence and pusher in our ultimately unsuccessful push for Ashton Vale, never met him but struck me as very much City. RIP. Quote
Gazred Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 That's 3pts for you CS. A true gentleman. RIP 3 Quote
Harry Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 RIP Colin. I quite enjoyed it when he was in charge down there. Represented us well. But……where was the minutes silence today? I got to my seat just a minute before kick off and I didn’t see that we did one? 2 Quote
sglosbcfc Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 God bless you Colin, love and best wishes to your family. RIP Quote
Redtucks Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Shocked to hear such sad news today. RIP Colin. Quote

There was an announcement over the tannoy and photo on the big screen probably about 2.50pm, was a good round of applause at this time which felt fitting. Quote
glynriley Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 The Black Swan in Westbury will never be the same. Rest In Peace Colin. 2 Quote
Kid in the Riot Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Very sad news. As others have stated, he really was brilliant in vociferously defending the clubs interests over at Ashton Vale. Professional, and fully committed to the cause. He was a key part of a fairly successful period for the club too, on the journey from League One to establishing ourselves in the Championship. Thoughts with his friends & family, rest in peace Colin. 1 Quote
RedZepperin Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Terribly sad. I thought Colin was great at City and that he left too early. Condolences to his family. RIP Colin Sexstone. Quote

Oh right. That’s a bit odd? I thought it would be the usual time they do a minute silence, ie just before kick off. Especially for a bloke who ran the club for 10 years! Quote

I was still outside the stadium when I heard we had a moments reflection and felt a bit disappointed as I felt for someone that did so much for us, he deserved a proper minutes silence. 1 Quote

This was my feeling, I was running a bit late (but made it for kickoff) so was disappointed to hear that they did something 10 minutes before kickoff. I'd imagine (and hope) they'd do a minute's silence before the next game (maybe Man C?). 1 Quote
