Font anxiety (albeit very low on the 'does it matter' scale)

So the Media team seem to using a new font for onscreen purposes - some horrible serif font that should be not allowed out.

admittedly it's not Comic Sans, but IMHO it doesn't work as the ascenders / verticals are too thin

when we got taught typography (all the way back in hot metal days !!) and then when i did TV graphics work, we always avoided fonts where the verticals were too thin as they tend to disappear visually.

Optima was our 'go to' for a slightly serifed font. but this one (which i think is 'Jazmin ' regular) is effing horrible, and doesn't mix at all when used with other fonts - which they do.

as they used to say - "if in doubt, Gill throughout"

It looks like a Gaelic, Celtic, Irish font.

I presume it's being used since the introduction of our new Irish kit suppliers O'Neil's.

Who's logo I can't unsee as similar to 1970s football ball manufacturers Stuburt. ??
