Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed

Recommended Posts

Clearly loads of moving parts to this but saw this morning that Wolves are selling Nathan Collins to Brentford, & read last week that Everton haven’t taken up their option to sign Conor Coady so Wolves will be integrating him back into their squad as his replacement.

With Neves sold too this sorts their FFP & gives them the funds to buy.

Might not be them of course, but know they were very keen in January & no reason that should have changed.

How can we build a side if we keep selling our best players?

How can we stay out of administration by not selling players?

We need to sell to lay some solid foundations

I really don’t understand why people don’t get this. Any club outside of the top 6 premier league teams need to sell to progress

Man City about to bid for Rice. Still think West Ham is Scott’s most likely destination.

There's talk of them including Kalvin Phillips in a deal. Same with Man Utd and McTominay. Though there is a suspicion that a lot of it is to get Arsenal to pay up.

Especially as Rice has let it be known that he wants to join Arsenal and has already agreed terms with them.

Think this accelerates in the next few weeks.

West Ham and Wolves (FFP aside) both look set to come into some money.

If one, or both make a move for Scott, then this might also spark others into action.

As it stands, I would be very surprised (and delighted) if he were to still be here this season.

West Ham seem more financially able than Wolves once the Rice move goes through although they will he looking for FFP reasons be looking to have a net spend of £0.

So say they get £100m for Rice..will they spend 25 pct of that on Scott? Depends how much of the side they want to revamp I guess.

He said he doesn't want to leave does he?

The problem for Phillips though is another season of sitting on the bench at City will be terrible for his chances of making the squad for the Euros and he’ll know that.

I’d imagine he’ll be looking for assurances on game time over the summer.

He can look at ake, he was on the bench for a season before becoming a key player,

Yeah for sure, he wouldn’t be the first player to have struggled for game time in his first season at Man City to go on to make a significant contribution in his second.
However, If that wasn’t to materialise, he’s find himself at risk of not making the England squad next summer.
