Worried about Pearson?

Grauniad reporting that a £25m package has been agreed. No idea what that means, but if it includes future sell ons, or event-based payments (appearances, avoiding relegation etc) then I can well understand Nige been more than a bit annoyed. Who knows?

The wider reports were £20m base fee and £5m in add-ons.

In layman's we get £20m irrespective but the rest obviously has to be triggered to materialise, probably via various clauses and events.

Two and a half years he has been here, probably the longest tenure in the Championship, he will need a couple more seasons to fulfil his targets, but not sure he will stay that long, he is a stubborn so and so if he has the mind to go he will and won't shift. His stewardship has seen this club put back onto sound footings, the future looks better, however selling your best players will not enhance his confidence.

The problem is not Pearson it is of course SL's holding back, we needed to push on now, keep the likes of Scott if we were to get promoted. Many on here say it was ineveitable Scott would go, and it was given SL's attitude, and the way we are, still the laughing stock, however it is an indication of lack of real ambition.

Typical City we have again been let down, hopefully we will get new owners that want it as bad as the fans do.

Well SL puts in as much as he can within the £39m limits and tides us over cash flow wise.

NP now must be backed, as far as possible within the rules.

Maybe not as far as possible after the mess we had ? if he is going to be here he should be backed with funds and a contract though. I’d like to see another 2-3 knight type signings to be honest. 1-2m range maybe slightly more. Not crazy wage signings either. Happy with best of L1 or a championship steal

Pearson is a realist. Scott has the ability to play in the Premier League and he wants to play there. It’s unlikely City will get there any time soon, Scott will get a big pay rise and City need the money to stabilise the club after the previous crazy spending. Pearson knew this was going to happen and, after being a manager for so long, he can’t possibly be surprised that Scott has gone. He may seem a bit grumpy but that’s his natural demeanour

The club have just spent two years managing down the squad size and the wage bill, I would be amazed if all that good work is ripped up overnight.

They have also made it perfectly clear what pool we are fishing in for players, and so far it seems to be working very well.

Nothing will change.

Pearson knows all this and has enthusiastically signed up to it.

Anyone else concerned that Pearson sounds a bit browned off losing Scott and might walk if new funds aren’t provided.  He himself seemed to have been kept in the dark as to whether he will have funds.

A real test of SL’s commitment to club’s progression

Nige distances himself from that side of running a football club. He sees his job as to develop and manage players and why he has bugger all to with agents - unlike many previous managers who wanted a finger in every pie.

The question you have to ask is whether Nige was more short and spiky about being asked questions he was never going to give a full answer to than he normally is.

The answer to that is no.

Hes cheesed off at losing Scott, we all are, but people trying to make it into a melodrama seem to forget who we’ve had in charge for the last three years!

Yes I think he is cheesed off about Scott, but he was very definitely cheesed off with Tommy Conway replying to a tweet about his injury, before the club had time to assess it properly and let the press know themselves.

Mr Pearson is not a fan of spies, staff talking to much and breaking club discipline particularly on social media or anywhere else.

What ever happened to Mc Gregor I don’t see anything from him these days or am I missing something?

We all knew scott would be leaving this summer,,, for pearson to suggest now hes not happy and doesnt know what the bid was is another of his white lies,,,, he clearly knows exactly whats going on and what we have to spend!

He’s a great poker player in the football world ?

He’s no mug and knows the game, he would have been briefed before, during and now after Scott has been sold

The club would have been planning for this eventuality and Tins and recruitment team will have plans in place

Watch this space I say as there are still a few twists and turns to be seen before the window closes

Hypothetically what if NP was promised £** on the back of the sale, then all of a sudden he's told he's only getting £* to reinvest

Suddenly your plan B goes out of the window and you would likely be very frustrated

Just don't assume everything is black and white behind the scenes at the moment

The bottom line is NP will never be allowed to build a team if we keep selling our best players. Sam Bell,TC,and Cam pring are already on the radar of the bigger clubs,so what chance does he have? Since when did we become Bournemouth's feeder club? Bournemouth????

When they won promotion to the prem league and get 120m a season in TV money as well as hundreds of millions in sponsership money
