AppyDAZE
Started watching it the other week, but was pretty tired after work and gave up. Remember me and the other half complaining about a few clearly fake Bristolian accents. Shall have to give it another go maybe. Itd been remade mate as a full length film. It's ok for the nostalgia but not great and as others have said some clear fake accents

Quite a few of the wife's side lived in Hartcliffe over the years, and then a few down in Bedminster. Both great areas with a lot of history. Some negative history like most areas of Bristol but most very good. Any movies or documentaries of Bristol are always great to watch. Not been back for four years but will be back next year.

'Some People' (1962) was good to watch just because it was from an eta before I was born. 'A Starter for 10' has a lot of Bristol filmed scenes - the former rex/abc in North Street is featured, as is either the uni or Clifton College. Apart from the first x seasons of Casulty, I alsoremember Teachers, Being Human, Afterlife and recently Outlaws, being filmed in Bristol. There was also a miniseries where a body was found in the docks by underfall yard, and another drama series where I think this policewoman son went undercover with a drugs gang. Oh, and Skins! What else has been bristol based/featured?

They didn't use the takes I saw - they clearly dropped the dog they were using because the woman Eddie was talking too definitely couldn't control it. Was Animal Magic filmed at Bristol zoo? Slacker
Bear with me as this is a long story.Going back a few years ago,Sherlock, the one with Benedict Cumerbatch, had a scene around a bonfire.Just before that scene,Sherlock was shown on the back of a motorbike travelling to the fire.He was clearly shown driving past London landmarks. The strange thing is the fire scene was filmed in central Bristol. My kids are in the scene.Something went up on social media, so they jumped on the bus down there.I think they finished filming it about 2.30 a.m.Seems strange that the cast and crew all came down the M4 to film on a bit of wasteland.

Oh Louie louie
Really wild show was often filmed at Ashton park school, I recall getting told that a episode from the equaliser was set in the UK, and there was a scene shot outside the spectrum building down town, opposite the original McDonald's, guessing cause it was a modern building of its day?

They used Bristol South pool whilst they were here too, so at least had a swim Yes, Animal Magic was filmed here, loved Jonny Morris and Dotty the Lemur. Saw lots of Only Fools filmed here too. Once went into Broadwalk Shopping Centre in the middle of July and it was full of Xmas trees etc, Del and Rodney spent hours filming a scene going up and down on the escalators. Blink and you missed in the episode! A couple of times I've seen both the back and the front of my house on Casualty too. One time I walked around the corner into my road, Police tape everywhere, I thought it was a crime scene until I saw the lights and cameras! Trollied, the Supermarket comedy with Jason Watkins ( who has filmed so much here in Bristol) and Chantel Cresswell who I think is /was Flints current partner.

Our mum saw David Jason sat in his car in the city ground car park one yer. Didn't know about Poldark. In the 90s I think they filmed some of a bbc period drama in the wills building on Raleigh Road. Maybe set in the 1920s featuring two woman. One of who was a well known Scottish actress and the sister of a bloke my brother worked with art natwest life.

Especially used to love Simon (Egg from This Life, Andrew Lincoln in real life) pegging it along through Knowle on his BMX then he turns the corner and he’s by the suspension bridge! Lots of the pub scenes in Teachers were filmed in the old Seymour’s Club in Barton Vale. I remember seeing the Wurzels play there supported by Fred Wedlock. It was bloody chaos!

It looks like Severn Beach, but there is an inlet with boats which I am pretty sure isn't Severn Beach? A chap who comes in our local is the Chief Payroll clerk on most things that get filmed in the area. There is a series called Boarders coming soon which they finished in November and he says is very good, so one to watch out for.
