Think people are forgetting who we are, lampard is a big statement from the club commercially at the very least. The man has coached world class players and managed in the champions league, like I said before if this is true and the appointment goes very well I hope all of you doubters stay quiet while the rest of us get behind the team/manager

Meets the club at 11am today. That has come from a very good friend of his. HE WILL be our manager by the end of tomorrow Friday. He will be at Ashton Gate on Saturday to watch the team. I don't care if people want to dismiss what I've said, but my friend is someone who has known Frank since they were both at West Ham in the mid 90s and Frank has openly told him since Sunday afternoon, he wants this job. He sees us as an under achieving team who should be in the Premier League.

The posted above who said his agent met the club, that is not true in the slightest. Frank technically doesn't have an agent, he has a business manager, and financial consultant, but neither of those get involved in football related matters. He approached a member of our staff, and he was put in touch with someone. He spent 2 hours on the phone with them on Monday, saying why he wanted the job, and made it clear, he is serious about taking Bristol City to the Premier League.

Since then, he has been sorting out personal matters and meets the club today, but he wants the job. Also, I've read that people are saying Jody Morris will come with him, he won't. As said on the other thread the other day, Michael Johnson, the England Under 18 coach will be coming with him, as his assistant, not Jody. Frank is heavily impressed by our academy and youth development and thinks that he and Johnson can help progress a number of youngsters and take the club forward.

Call out all you want, say what you want, and if I am wrong I am wrong, but I won't be. Since Frank got in touch, the club turned their attentions away from Eustace and Rowett and feel that Lampard matches the clubs ambition and remit.

I will say it one final time, and wont be posting again until he is announced as manager, which means if he isn't, I wont post again full stop. Frank Lampard will be our new manager, he is expected to sign a deal today and it will be announced tomorrow, and he will be at the game on Saturday. Michael Johnson will assist him.

Isn’t Michael with the under 21s and Frank Lampard does have an agent. In fact he has 2. So I’m a bit confused 🫤

So, I’m calling BS on this, as much as I would love Frank to be our manager.

I’d be amazed if this happened. Can we really see SL paying the money someone like Lampard would need? And is there any way Lampard would want to put his currently battered reputation on the line by joining a club in the midst of an injury crisis who won’t spend any money on players? And be told what to do by Tinnion every step of the way? I just don’t see it.

Good insight Harry - but for the second night running you've wasted your time giving us the lowdown on someone that won't be coming to BS3 anytime soon!

TBH I would welcome the appointment.. it would definitely help raise the profile and integrity of our club, as it was with Nige at the helm… but can you imagine Steve’s face every time we’re referred to as Frank Lampards Bristol City? Can’t see him having a bar of that, he’ll want another low key LJ type coach.

To be fair to @robinforlife2 here that’s a heck of a lot of detail on the subject for it to be a complete fabrication. We shall see of course but that does sound it’s got something to it.

A little bit too much detail for a friend of a friend to know. Its written like he's in on every conversation so I'm calling bulls hit.

I disagree. I’m not saying it will necessarily happen, but the poster seems sensible and articulate, makes decent contributions to the forum, and knows he’s destroying his own credibility on the forum if he’s wrong. It has ring of truth to me.

That’s how I read it too. I thought it was all bullshit as well until I read the latest post. If it’s a wind up it’s an elaborate one!

If you base FLs ability on his Championship experience then he has done it with Derby albeit with a couple of good loans from the Prem

It would certainly raise the profile of the club and inject a lot of interest from the football media

I wouldn’t be too disappointed to see him brought in if he can attract a few loans in January to boost a decent squad that we already have and kick on and up the division

Probably not.... He said he will not post again until Lampard is manager, which means if he isn't, he won't post again. Full stop.

So there you have it...robin's all in on this one.......

Fair shout you have put yourself on the line and don’t see why anyone would lie about this and you have gone into detail.

I suppose it would open up the loan market from top Prem club(s) and he has taken a club into the playoffs before. Not shining at Chelsea or Everton, for different reasons, is not too black a mark.

Given the nailed on certainty of Eustace and now Lampard, the one lifelong lesson here is...don't gamble.

Brave call to post this info when few posters are in a mood to take any prisoners whilst pretty much every Manager mentioned is utterly reviled by some as it isnt Pearson.

Good luck- I hope you're right as the meltdown will be the stuff of  classics. It would also be a fascinating appointment.
