If you are an England and City fan, shoot outs are not our favourite thing.. 4

Open End Numb Legs
Maybe English clubs should be forced to practice pens. In a league game, if drawn after 90 mins have a pen shootout, no extra time. The team that wins the pens gets an extra point. 3 points for a win 2 points for a draw with shootout win 1 for draw with shootout loss (I am not being serious).

Offside
I’ve still not got over losing to Mansfield on penalties at Wembley in 1987.

I can remember going to that final. We didn’t really deserve to even take the game to penalties. Mansfield had a player called Keith Cassells they tore us a new one if i remember rightly.

Flamin Groovy
Bit of a blur but I seem to remember a penalty shoot out at Fellows Park (87/88?) to determine the replay venue after we had drawn the two legged final with Walsall……………we lost! 3

Robbored
I vaguely remember a penalty shoot about 30 years ago when David Seal and Paul Agostino were at City. Facing the Atyeo Seal took the last pen to win and blazed it hitting the crossbar and deflecting over the line. Just looked - It was 1995 against Colchester

I actually like the sound that; penalties probably a bit crap though no offence But some sort of bonus point system favouring attacking play I don’t think would be awful. I’d support this sort of thing as an end of season competition. Never going to happen but as a kid I used to love the inter-club “who’s the fastest” sprint races, five-a-side games etc… I propose one weekend in the close season, at Wembley, a Championship decathlon - sprinting, penalties, keeps-ups, crossbars, head tennis and more! PossetRobin
Add to the list losing to the g*s in Glos Cup August 93. 0 -0 at FT, 1 -1 after ET , lost 5 -3 on pens. It gets worse, Forest U21's beat us on pens 6-5 in the Prem League Cup last season
