Guest TinmansCulturedLeftPeg
BRIAN CLOUGH'S UNIQUE MANAGEMENT continued.... if one of your players isn't playing very well in the first half, ask them at half-time if they've ever been punched in the stomach, then if they say they haven't - "well you have now..WHACK!!" or if they say they have - "well here's another one..WHACK!!" England
of course peter taylor had a hand in his success and most people have their vices via drink or whatever, blimey the game is stressful enough, and in the limelight you can end up drinking a bit, alex ferguson has a whiskey or two... but hey the man is dead for god sake just show some respect sometimes it is just good to keep negative thoughts to ones self in threads like this. we always get someone who wants to pee on everyones bonfire. Brian Clough, legednd! end of! ← Sorry if I offended you cider head ( couldn't give a toss about edson ) I respect Cloughie and believe he was a great motivator and I am well down the drinking road myself and went to my fathers funeral a week ago so don't go on about respect for the dead - Cloughie and Taylor were a great team until they fell out and that was what I was trying to point out. No one can take away his record as a footballer but I still believe as a manager, he ruled by fear -not necessarilly a criticism but it was not his achievements that gained my respect/amusement but his treatment of his board and the establishment and not many flatten Keane and get away with it.
