Admin Ian M Posted November 9, 2004 Admin Report Share Posted November 9, 2004 If Becks had scored that we'd have been seeing it on TV for weeks. The whole performance tonight was top drawer. If that's the 2nd best team in the Division then Luton will have to be A LOT better than them to get anything off us at Ashton Gate next month! Robbored
Wilkshire's first goal was a classy finish and theres no doubt that he ment it.He's another player that has grown in confidence under BT and has become a different player to the one we saw last season. It was a close run thing between him and Brooker for MoM tonight.

RedM
An absolute fantastic goal and very well deserved. He is a vastly improved player who gives his all. He ran over towards where I sit and skidded on his knees, the joy on his face was unbelievable, you could see what it meant to him. More of the same please Luke! Taz
Goal of the season. Magnificent - Beckham eat your heart out There was only going to be two contenders for MOTM, and those were the goalscorers (although the whole team played extremely well). Brooker is already showing value for money. I'm happy tonight

TinnionForEngland
He is a superb player. I was just thinking back to when Murray left and to see both of them in the same team doing so well is well weird because everyone saw Wilkshire as Murray's replacement but they fit into the midfield like a dream anyway, keep it up lads! Won't see a better goal than that all season!
Guest Tian
This season Wilkshire has been pure class, division one/premiership clubs will be watching him soom especially as he has some experience at that level. He even came up with the cocky little penalty at the end!!
Guest ayrton
Hill had to be MotM, some quality intercepts and challenges when it counted early on. Defenders often go un-noticed when a few goals are scored.

Happy ← This was quite possibly the best goal that I've never seen. An incident off the ball meant that I wasn't watching Wilkshire when he picked up the ball. The annoying thing is I can't even remember what I was looking at. I think it was McAteer trying to kick Tommy in the mouth while they were both lying on the floor. Anyway, the next thing the ball is looping over their goalie in a quite ridiculous way...

Guest pentlandsl
Great goal from a player getting better and better with each match. Not quite as good as Jimmy Mann's but not far off of it! The whole team played well tonight and worked their socks off for each other, nobody shirked their responsibilities or took time out during the mach (after all Roberts is down the M4 now - dons crash helmit and waits for flak!). Matt Hill was my man of the match - he was outstanding in our best defensive display this season. Credit also to Leroy for 'defending' in their third of the pitch, countless times tonight he forced a hurried pass or clearance, resulting in the ball ending up in touch or in our possession. Feel like we can beat everyone now - CC Championship, hear we come! (I said it quietly so SL doesn't hear it and tell me off!)

tompo
In the WDP today, Tinnion is quoted as saying that Wilkshire's first goal is the best he has ever seen in his time at Asshton Gate. Brooker said that he wondered why Wilkshire was shooting from that range - until he saw the ball in the back of the net.
