Please Will You Help Me?

Right now I know that this is a football forum and most of you on here are blokes, and I'm just a silly girl, but I was wondering if you would help me.

I have started a petition online, to gather signatures for a protest some friends of mine all over the country are planning.

I suffer from endometriosis, (ladies trouble on a major level) and there is very little money available for research available from the government, and the waiting lists for treatement are just stupid.

So please will you just sign this for me, I will never ask anything of you again, but some of you surely must know someone who suffers from this and would want to help them.

Heres the link and I will shut up now

No I promise, you don't get any spam as a result of it, I have signed one in the past for something, and nothing bad will come your way I promise.

Thanks! (and anyone with multiple email address, is welcome to *ahem* adjust the numbers! biggrin.gif )

OK - I clicked the link but didnt work for me - I am sure it will next time I log in but before I sign...

1 - What is endometriosis?

2 - What do you want the governement to do?

3 - Where do you think they'll get the money from to do that?

Then, if I agree I will sign....

PS - I don't think asking for multiple e-mails is a good idea for credibility. Just my opinion though, I ain't 'ere to Preach!

1. Google it or ask a girl, (or PM me)

2. They have cut the funding over the last five years, even though one in 5 women in the u.k. suffer from it. And the waiting lists for treatment in Bristol alone are just stupid (I'm waiting 5months for my op, in pain nearly every day, or on painkillers just so I can get out of bed - not much of a life really considering I'm only 25.)

3. They have money for bloody tax-dodging immigrants and teenager mothers benefit when they should get off their arses and work, so why should I a law abiding tax paying resident of this country get treated like dirt, along with tens of thousands of other women.

Ok, enough said, come on you reds, oh and sign the bloody petition and tell everyone else you know to do so as well.

Hello C-red, it wasnt that I didnt want to tell anyone, I just get a bit weary of people going "whats that?" all the time.

You must know someone with it then, as you gave a good link.

And sometimes I wish it was as serious as Cancer, cos then you get treated within 4 weeks!!!!

A couple of months ago I found out that my best mates girlfriend could have this - she's 20.

Obviously she's been sick with worry since - she's not sure if she wants kids but doesn't want the option taken away from her.

Unbelievably, she's still waiting for the test results. And as I understand it, the quick they diagnose it, the better chance you have of not being infertile.

And so, in that context, must duly signed.

Shes in the same situation as me probably. She not waiting for tests (she may be) shes waiting for an operation called a laparoscopy (which is what I'm waiting for) to see how bad it is.

And yes the longer it goes on the worse it gets, cos it just keeps growing.

And as for being infertile, it would kill me if I couldnt have kids, and it depends where the endometriosis is growing as to your success rate of having kids.

Give her my best wishes, I know what shes going through.

Hi, will gladly sign your petition for you. I work in the NHS and have a hazy idea of the problem - at least I have an understanding of the problems people experience with endometriosis.

I think people like yourself could do a great thing raising awareness of this. Obviously you've done your bit on this message board but there are a lot of women out there who have no idea what endometriosis is because we're just not good at educating people in this country.

What exactly are you doing with your petition?

We are planning to stage a march to Parliament to protest at our treatment, or lack of treatment in most cases. (it takes on average 9 years between the onset of symptoms and diagnosis, due to lack of awareness and understanding - most women get fobbed off like I did for over a year with "Oh its womens trouble, you will just have to put up with it") And then even when you do get diagnosed there is still very little treatment available.

We were contemplating dressing up as ovaries or wombs or something, as the novelty look did wonders for "fathers for justice"

Please can you forward my link onto anyone you know, as the more signatures the better.

Thanks

Interesting. Myself and a fellow work colleague are actually going to parliament in the next few weeks to discuss some health concerns with an MP. Could probably bring this up at some point...

I didn't realise the "9 years" problem was quite that bad. It's a social injustice that millions are being put into, for example, creating a "feamle Viagra" (because that's where money can be made) when nothing is being done for people like yourself.

I will ask some of my non-Bristol City supporting friends and colleagues to sign also.

Brilliant, anyone you can get to sign would be fab, you could take a look at this website, which has details/proof of the 9 year thing.

Or PM me. Would be fab if you could bring it up, how did you get an appointment with an MP?
