Hi Dollymarie,

How long are you running this petition for? I have been off work for the last week so haven't got any more signatures but will do my best next week. Also, is this the only petition or are your friends doing similar ones?

The petition will run until just before we march to London I expect, I am the only one from the endo forum doing this, (although quite a few of its members have signed) the society affiliated with it has its own petition, but there is no cut off date as such, so keep getting those signatures, and thanks once again.

Have done that already, my MP arranged an official investigation into my wait for an op, and UBHT came back with a load of bulldogs, and so he isnt doing anymore for me.

Great huh!

Dollymarie

Not wanting to put a dampner on it but that really is what the UBHT should come back with. If there was a problem with your individual case then it should have been highlighted but if it is a general problem and everyone is in the same boat then they would have come back with the normal stuff of waiting lists, priority jobs, staffing issues etc. I assume that you did not expect the MP to be able to bump you up the list.

Obviously your action is about putting it right for everyone and I respect that.

I was complaining more about the fact that the same surgeon who is doing my op, can do my op privately at the bupa in two weeks, which I think doctors should be stopped from doing, until the waiting lists are way way down from what they are now.

Okay.

Maybe you should join in the socialists debate with this one.

Good luck with it all.

As many as possible, (we are planning the protest in London sometime over the summer) so forward the link onto anyone you like, just as long as they take it seriously.

Thankyou!

Dollymarie

Just thought I should make you aware of changes in the law that might effect any protest.

Our government (acting OF COURSE in the interests of preserving liberty) recently passed the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act, which prohibits demonstrations or protests within a 1km radius of Parliament. Basically, if you so much as carry a banner saying "Blair - OUT!" you can be arrested as causing a civil offence or, if it is a group protest, be charged with conducting organised crime.

This is a shameful attack on our freedoms but obviously it needs to be considered. Maybe you should take the protest to Downing Street instead?

You won't be allowed anywhere near Downing Street now! Our government, acting as always in the people's interests, has made it illegal to protest within a 1km radius of parliament, which includes Downing Street. Only exceptions are those protests the government supports, so you could have something like Bob Geldof's lot doing something that isn't going to upset the government too much. But spontaneous protests are now banned and classified as illegal under the serious crime and disorder act. Nice to know we're all serious criminals...

If you want to see the justification behind this law, and to see I'm not just talking a load of cobblers, look at Parliament Square
