Guest North Street
If true City fans can sit in with swansea fans without bringing attention to themselves then what's the problem with that? So just because we disagree with the arrangements it means we shouldn't go to the game? how is that fair! I'd love to go to the game but because of the arrangements I'm being forced not to go because me and my mates can't afford the coach tickets. i shuoldn't be stopped to go to a game just because of stupid arrangements! As people have said already it's not the true fans that will cause the trouble, so why punish us by charging us an extra £15 per ticket?!I don't really care what the coach operators think! They'll have a police escort so it's probably a safer trip than they normally do! Most of the coaches are in such a state they'd probably be thankful of the insurance money to do them up if they got kicked in!So a car of 4 city fans driving from bristol to swansea is going to cost more then £60?! What car do you drive?! I reckon you could quite easily get a train from bristol to swansea for £16. And these are prices from Bristol, some of our fans live closer to swansea than that, so adding on the additional cost of getting to bristol to start their journey is another added expense! I don't think you can think of any argument that defends the inflated coach prices.←It's £16.40 actually[says mr Pedantic] for a super saver return as i sadly returned mine yesterday for the trifling admin sum of £
Guest North Street
Yep. Why are people getting angry with the club? If you want to get angry with anyone - get angry with the minority of morons who follow our club and Swansea who make this sort of thing necessary. We're all being punished for their stupid behaviour, so get angry with them not the club who are trying to make sure we get there and back safely.← I am angry at the club! Because they fail to realise that we the paying customer often make our arrangements well in advance of games and they are blatantly keeping fans in the dark. Rumours about Swansea started weeks ago but the club gave us Forest? where was the information prior to their decision to inform us to delay making arrangements on how to get there? How are they justifying their decision to play Colchester? Are they even consulting any supporters anymore? Have BCFC ever used the word sorry Bristol City's handling of these matters is at best abysmal and often gives the appearance of simply not caring. That is the most likely scenario for September 10.Do you honestlly believe that several hundred City fans are going to sit in home areas of the ground surrounded by Swansea fans without drawing attention to themselves? From my house to Swansea is about a 160 mile round trip. The AA reckon the average car does 30 mpg and petrol costs well over £4 per gallon.http://www.aatrust.com/index.asp?pageid=31&newsid=50That means if I was to travel on my own it is going to cost me well over £20 for petrol plus the additional £4.80 to cross the Severn Bridge. I suppose the club are to blame for that as well? Obviously it will be cheaper if I had passengers. The cheapest rail ticket I can find is £16.40.Personally I would have been happier if the club had taken the Millwall stance. Yes it may have punished some of our supporters but it would have also hit Swansea even harder as it is their gate receipts that will suffer. Perhaps the answer would have been to have made the game all ticket and beamed TV pictures of the game back to Ashton Gate. That should have satisfied everyone. 054123
So once again the club are at fault? Incidentally for those who think the coach prices are dear I would also think again. The adult rate is still cheaper than the cheapest train price and probably cheaper than what you would have to pay to drive over. ←Don't think so mate.£16.40 return for adults£8.20 return for kidsProbably even cheaper if you buy two singles, and i haven't even checked for group/family tickets yet.Make no mistake, the coach price is a rip off!No one has yet given a decent reason why i can't travel to that game on the train!Don't really care about Swansea fans, have no intention of causing trouble, those who do can be sorted out by the police, after all it is part their job.Been there before and would do it again.Don't see the problem. They are limited in numbers so may not be available for trains on that day. Single fare booked on the day is £15.60. All ticket prices are here http://www.fgwtickets.co.uk/Buy_Tickets/ma...7_2005823103326Good luck.
NailseaRed
why not just let season ticket holders or members travel to the ground of their own accord and anyone else has to use the official coach. sounds like an easy solution to me. Just admit that the coach tickets have no reason for being that high. I'm yet to hear an argument that makes that price sound reasonable. so it's even more unreasonable if you're a kid cos then you're paying at least a fiver more to take the coach! So we've come to the conclusion that the coach is only a cheaper form of travel if you decide to drive on your own in a car that drinks more petrol than the average small car. nice one! This is a breach of our rights to move freely on this island. If I do go I just hope all the coaches (or at least mine) will have toilets on as I they said we can't have p1ss breaks, now thats hard after 5 or 6 ciders!Edit: Before anyone asks the reason I will never see the crazy cats as reasonable is because its full of bores or freaks - Harsh? You are free to move around this island as you please. You can go to Swansea on the day of the game by whatever means you choose. You just won't get into the game, which is a private function on private land and they can decide the rules of admission as they please.

The Casual Connoisseur
Ok the club run the risk of not selling our allocation by making them available to season ticket holders and members only. However they counter this by charging £16 for coach travel to Swansea making a packet on top of any ticket sales and in the mean time stop the hooligan element travelling, because................wait for it according to some of you, hooligans don't go to the game, what a load of rubbish, I think you will find they do and I also think you will find that a large amount of hooligans have season tickets and/ or are club members. If nobody brouught tickets for this game then guarenteed the club & Swansea would change the action of bus & ticket, money talks! malaggro
Travelling in a group of four, paying on the day.WSM to SWANSEA, return on the train, £10.70!!Stop ripping us off City!Executed Wolf has hit the nail on the head. Don't comply with the clubs shockingpricing for coaching. If enough refused to buy tickets there would be a rethink.Swansea would not be happy at one of their biggest pay days turning intoa couple of hundred paying away fans. tompo
Perhaps i'm being thick and without having a go or anything......whats that got to do with it?←Guess I was going off at a bit of a tangent. Season ticket holders are being charged £14 as opposed to £16. I am just curious as to how many of those people who are outraged at the cost did not renew their season tickets (for whatever reason) and now find themselves having to pay the higher price.
