to all bristol city fans who left before the final whistle you should be ashamed. yes were not very good we were being outplayed but why walk. The fans who stayed did us proud they displayed there passion and loyalty. Things are bad seven straight defeats is shocking but not as shocking as leaving because you cant take it when we loose or play badly. Support this club no matter how bad things are no matter where we are in the league don't walk or leave you should be more passionate than ever go to the rovers where they are used to leaving before the final whistle youre no good to the bristol city cause if you stick with the way things are. YOU are supposed to be CITY till you DIE not when we are just winning but forever.

ALL YOU EARLY LEAVERS NEED TO LOOK AT THE WORD LOYAL AND SEE WHERE YOU FIT IN.

CITY TILL THE END NO MATTER WHAT.

Fair play to eveyone who went today, and if people who left early then that's up to them.

Good luck to the paying fans who left early, the players don't want to play, so why should the fans show SL they are happy with this mess! He does not help the situation, he does NOT care about what the fans think. You cant blame GJ that he has a shi+e team? well thats what he tells us! Good luck to the fans who don't come to the next game. At this rate you could get the Trades Discription People in. Loyal you stand there clapping that, when it is better watching paint dry.

Nice post from NorthRed - NOT. I left with about 30 seconds to go, do you now want me to stay away for ever. Shall we ban all of those 2/3,000 who left, so that you so-called Loyalists can sit in a near-deserted stadium? Will you pay double to replace the lost income. I have been at City for 27 years, and even in heady days of Div One, the REAL Div 1, people left early. It is a fact of life, people do leave early. Please stop trying to be a martyr and show some respect to other City fans.

And for the record, that is the first time I have ever left before the end. as regards loyalty, note that I hardly missed a game, home or away as we slid from Divs 1 to 4, and was at Rochdale as we lost to go bottom of the League!

I pity those supposed supporters who have replied to the post without supporting north red. I'd rather sit in a stadium half full of loyal city fans than with a stadium full of glory supporters.

When you finally grow up you might realise that when people go to work all week and pay good money for entertainment purposes (that is what football is supposed to be) they have the right to spend that money how they wish and if they feel they are not getting value for money they reserve the right to leave/stop attending the stadium and spend their money on an alternative - it's as simple as that even if it doesn't fit in with the views of you and your mates.

I stayed to the end today, have supported the team for twice as long as you and I am going to Doncaster next week but still respect the actions of people who have supported this club for donkeys years and have finally had enough.

P.S. - currently, a pint of what I drink is more interesting than the team - by a long way.

I agree that peple are free to leave when they like, but if you're reducing football to 'entertainment', we'd all be delighted that we saw six goals.

I don't watch football to be entertained, theres more to it than that, which is why staying to the end seems the most sensible option to me. I want to know exactly what's happening t my team which I cant have if I don't watch them.

What if I'd left early for the Mansfield game away, would have missed the best five minutes of football i've ever witnessed.

Agree with much of the above but do you think that if someone happens to disagree and goes to football for other reasons that are different to yours or mine and which makes them want to leave a game early after the debacle of today and the season in general, they should ###### off and support the gas? This is what the original poster was writing and makes me question his/her sanity and maturity!!

Fans showed a passion and commitment by going in the first place but showed how much by leaving way before the end. Its not easy sitting through it but ask the fans who left early at Mansfield a coupe of years ago if they made the right choice by leaving early then. Those who leave early never see a game pulled from defeat.

Just watched fans of Real Madrid pouring out of the Bernabeu long before the end with the likes of Becks, Zidane, Carlos, Ronaldo, Robinho, Raul(off injured), losing 0 - 3 to Barca with a goal from Eto'o and two stonkers from Ronaldinho with great displays from Messi and Xavi the price of any one of the fore named would keep City going for ten years

Sometimes passion is a great thing, often lots of passion means idiocy, judging by your post i would say you are really passionate.I left about 5 mins early to go home and watch the England rugby game on the trusty Sky+.I had avoided the score until the annoucer gave it away.Obviously this means i am in no way loyal.I shall just rip up the over 20 years of supporting City through thick, thin and thin again. If you saw me walking out early i would like to offer the most sincere appology in the history of mankind.

The true fans today were the dozen or so in the corner of the Atyeo that started the "City Till I Die" chant when we went 4-1 down, and kept it going till the end. How that spread right across the Atyeo, and into the Dolman, was surreal.

Fair play to any one that was there today, given the position we are in. But the fans left at the end are the true supporters of this club, not the ones that left with half an hour left with no bottle to keep going till the end.

Were any of you at Mansfield a couple of years back?

Willsbridge, Ive observed you now slate fellow city fans on a few occasions, why is that? Because of what is said on a forum? Tell me, do you percieve yourself as 20 times better then most "muppets" that watch city? why? Do you or Elvis pay more to get in? Do most city fans not contribute enough funds towards the team?

You will get different personalities at every football club when it comes to fans, just because one may not have the same view as you, or may be a bit more knee jerk then you, I myself wouldnt call them a muppet, I wouldnt class chunks of City fans as Muppets as you would.

Id say that is uncalled for

I left with 20 to go, big deal, if the players had shown a little more commitment I may have stayed til the end!

Murray pulled out of a challenge on edge of their box! I pulled myself off my seat and thought I hope it's better next time!

We're all in the same boat, we don't need to pop between ourselves!

I used to hate it when people left early as i always hoped that no matter what the score is there is always a chance to get something, as leeds proved today, or we could show our love for the club by singing till the end, as many did today.

I have stayed in the ground on many occasions and sung away during hopeless causes, but at the moment i cannot criticise people that leave early because what we are witnessing on the pitch is pathetic!! It is some of the most passionless performances i have ever witnessed in my many years watching CITY, and i really can't understand people applauding the players off at the end.

But what i can't see the point is people insulting those leaving. A little ironic chant of cheerio is fair enough, but some of the abuse being thrown down at people leaving the dolman by those in the atyeo was out of order. These people have to realise that the people leaving are distraught at seeing the club they love in such a shambles, and many just can't bear to suffer it right to the bitter end, but the last thing they need is abuse as they leave!!

If you want to sing then i applaud you for that, and i tried to rouse myself to join in a few times, but leave off with the judging of others!!!

How about the club, management and players doing something for the fans for a change? Perhaps a convincing performance and 3 points would be a nice idea with Xmas coming up? Bearing in mind I've been coming to Ashton Gate since 1977 and have had very little in return for my "loyalty" I suggest you shut up! Having recently emigrated to Calgary in Canada - sadly it's just ice hockey here guys & girls ( although we do get a Premiership game on Sunday mornings - maybe next century City will feature ?! ) it's sad to see how the optimism on Gary's appointment has evaporated. My last game was - sadly - Southend - sounds like Chesterfield and Notts County were worse.

For what it's worth I think Gary Johnson is a very capable manager ( he's proved it at Latvia and Yeovil ) BUT he made a big mistake implying his players were not up to it when he knew he had around two months to go before he could replace any of them. In that time the season can be lost. For God's sake footballers are not the best endowed above the neckline so why give the game away, imply several now playing won't be soon, and unnecessarily reduce their motivation from the low level it was at already...?

A few other observations from a long-standing City fan now in exile :

- Tinman bled for the club BUT alienated some of our best - and Bristolian - players ( e.g. Doherty, Hill, Coles ) . Very difficult to for him to curb any out-of-hours culture as a recent teammate.

- Steve Lansdown cares deeply for this club and must be in despair right now. His appointment of Tinnion was clearly a mistake, especially as Tinnion saddled this club with a load of overpaid and/or fat and/or chronically crocked or ageing players. Stewart was a massive mistake and his weekly wages alone would pay for a lifelong season ticket. But he's not the only one. Grant Smith bears a similarity to a upper garment worn by large women. Bridges briefly showed promise but couldn't hit a barn door from 4 yards. And so it goes on...

- There are too many kids ( Cotterill, Skuse especially come to mind ) who cannot impose themselves upon a game. What the club needs now is characters who will ensure a mid table rather than relegation finish. Let's start by getting a couple of Dennis Wise type cloggers in to make teams a bit apprehensive about visiting Ashton and inspire the rest of the team to actually tackle. Who cares if it ain't pretty - we can rebuild in the close season when Gary will have the chance to build his own team and test it out in friendlies rather than floundering with a shambles inherited from Tinman.

- Any drinkers should be drummed out straightaway - this has been a curse of our club from the days of Dicks to Dziekanowski. Zero tolerance ! For ######s sake these are professional athletes paid more in a month than most earn in a year.

I am desperate to see this desperately underperforming club succeed. To those now wearing the shirt I say - if only you knew how many of us dreamed of wearing it for just one game - and - I stress - for no money at all..you would be shamed into seeing it as more than a weekly pay cheque.

Totally agree.

But what was worse was not the abuse directed by some in the Atyeo to fans leaving the Dolman but

some of these revolting creatures were actually spitting at fellow City fans.

Aside from being a disgusting thing to do, those doing it are asking for trouble. People will

not tolerate this sort of behaviour in normal life and will not tolerate when they have made

a painfull yet reasonable decision to get up and leave.

I witnessed decent middle aged City fans being gopped on by an assortment of low-life scumbags

and it was not a pleasant sight.

I wonder if those doing the spitting will receive a letter from Mr Draisey or a rebuke in the programme?

I doubt it.

don, t let them get to you fella, the orignal post is very immature, and all this I STAY TILL THE END , stuff is getting totally out of hand. everyone is different , and there are many reasons for people leaving early . the frustrations of this season are among the hardest we have faced in years , and many heartfelt supporters, really do get upset at the state of the club, and the players attitiude which may or may not be slowly changing . BUT , all these happy clapper " i am a better supporter than you cause i stay to the end "is just PATHETIC , and to hear that MORONIC city fans are abusing , and SPITTING on other city fans as they leave, just about sums them up , how low can city fans get , ? MORONS no other word for it

the views in my original post were down to pure frustration. one minute fans were fans were behind gj and players the next minute they were calling for his head, that alone is surely ridiculus.I don't expect people to agree with my original post and in terms of me questioning fans loyalty that isnt what i want to do. I'm entitled to my opinion on the way i was feeling between 1630 and 1645 yesterday afternoon as are supporters who left early.Writing on this forum and being a supporter is all about sharing your views with other supportes, my original post wasnt intended to be rude or offensive so i do not appreciate offensive abuse back. I will not rise to abuse i will just continue to air my views of our football club like we are all entitled to do.

I just can't believe the idiots who come out and say you left early therefore your a bad supporter. Personally I stay right to the end but then some people need to get away early. What is your opinion of the people who turn up 5 mins after kick off that sit in the middle of a row and make everyone stand up in front of you, hence missing some of the game. That annoys me more.

so say you need to beat the rush out of the ground because you have to start

work at 6pm or 7pm as a bar man, doorman, dj etc, so you leave 10 mins

before the game to give you a fair chance to beat off traffic so you are not

late for work, does that make you any less CTID :dunno:

Win, lose or draw people have always left early as some do the above,

those leaving early because they are peed off with the football have paid

for that right to walk out as it is not good right now with the potential we have

on the pitch they should be doing better..

That's what I did I'm afraid. I can count the number of times I've left City early home and away for the last 10 years on one hand, but yesterday we left at half-time and went back to the pub where frankly we were having a much more enjoyable time.

I felt like leaving early but i didn't only because of the sad fact is that

i was being entertained by chesterfield

to all bristol city fans who left before the final whistle you should be ashamed. yes were not very good we were being outplayed but why walk.

Complete and utter twaddle.

You aint a proper supporter, naah naah ne naah naah.

Hear this every season.............

Guess what we're all CTID, funny old thing.

CITY TILL YOU DIE THEN. OR JUST TO MUCH FOR WHEN WERE LOOSING AT HALF TIME. YOURE PINTS MORE INTERSETING THAN YOURE TEAM IS IT. BECOME A FAN IN THE PUB AND CHEER THEM ON GILLETE SOCCER SATURDAY.

Whatever, mate, whatever, you are the Super fan, we aint worthy of your greatness..............

North Red is right what does it do to the confidence of our players if we start to leave earlier? If your ARE a fan you should support your team through the good AND, AND the bad times.

I pity those supposed supporters who have replied to the post without supporting north red. I'd rather sit in a stadium half full of loyal city fans than with a stadium full of glory supporters.

Are you city or not?

Sorry we are not worthy of the chance to breathe the same air as you.................

I doubt it.

But Elvis, they stayed so they must be real City fans..........................

Not!!!

Soooooooooooooooooo campers, or those REAL City fans who suffered their martyrdom till the end............is spitting at those less worthy than you big, clever or even just pathetic??

Just thought I'd ask as I'm not a proper fan.

Not supported this club for long or owt...............

I've got to hold my hands up I did leave early yesterday, first time ever though I might add does this now make me unloyal. I was just disgusted in the effort of the team, pulling out of tackles and backing off and backing off. Honestly feel I should'nt be ashamed off walking out on a bunch of fairies (stronger words come to mind though) who got no pride in pulling on the red jersey. Have always stayed till the end even when losing as it always used to feel the city were trying, putting the effort in and having some pride. There's a severe lack of that at the moment and don't think supporters should be slated for leaving.

Maybe he should stop making aggressive posts like:

"North Red I suspect you weren't even a glimmer in the milkman's eye when we were in the old 4th division so sod off and keep your "Hornby" views to yourself you happy clapper"

Who are the 'average muppets' by the way?

Of course the post was aggressive . Subjected to treatment like that I'm quite amazed I was able to contain myself and NOT slap someone. I thank god I left the missus at home this week because if she got that treatment I would have lost it.

By the way her great uncle was City's longest ever serving player and she couldnt believe what I had to go through and is not inclined to visit the gate again.

Thanks lads

I left ten minutes before the end yesterday, and in almost forty years of watching football, that is the first time I have ever, ever left a match before the final whistle. City till I die? At about 4.30 pm yesterday, I would have taken death, quite happily. I'll be back next week though, more fool me.

North Red.

I left after there 4th Goal. I see you have supported City since 1990. Well I can tell you that I have SUPPORTED City since 1956. Been a Season Ticket Holder for 25 years.

I go to all the Reserve Games that i can get to.

Saturday was terrable, perhaps I should not have left.

But i am so frustrated at the rubbish being served up as entertainment.

In all the years i have SUPPORTED this team, this is our natural division. And it looks as if we might drop into the Gas domen.

I like many other supporters expect to see some excitement, some passion.

In case you and many other supporters have not noticed, the ENTERTAINMENT industry is clammering for our money.

Yes i expect to be back for the next game, but for me and i expect many others. Time is running out.

If he was that loyal, he would still be in the ground now cheering on the lads 3 days later. Where's your loyalty? Also, i didnt go saturday, like the past month or so, does that put me on par with Fred West or is he let off the hook a bit as he didnt ever pop down the gate? What a load of old tosh, i can choose when i want to go down and i don't need some jumped up nutter telling me or anyone else that I'm not a real supporter, if i have paid for my replica shirt and season ticket then the money has gone to the club already so really they couldnt give a toss if i was there or not now.

Seriously, some people on here need to be more, i dunno, realistic i suppose with there beliefs on 'loyalty'.

leaving early dose not make a differance, don't show up at all like the rovers did if you want to make an impact.

That i did and what a day i had, bit of Cinema and Chinese with me missus, different gravy it was. Or alternatavley, could of been freezing and watched my team get turned over for the 7th time in a row?

Up the City

It shouldn't make a difference if people left early; the club still has your gate/programme/pasty/cider money! The players should be giving you a reason to stay until the bitter end every game. Personally, I'd rather people left early than booed players off the pitch - quiet despair might wake them up.
