Broke the unions & made the country

Yeh right, that's why record numbers of the indigenous English population now want to emigrate to the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Spain, France etc. I've been in a trades union for all my working life and it's been to my benefit.

Why?

Unlike you she's got a sense of decencey and fairness toward her fellow countrymen and countrywomen.

With my new found wealth I may take the opportunity of employing a couple of Red Army snipers to take out your chemical weapon spraying and baton wielding Gestapo Police :clapping: ........

Can they start with speed gun wielding ones first please.

I'll even lend you some of the money I have made exploiting the working class to pay for it (at an exorbitant rate of interest, obviously)

Personally, hope the coppers are found guilty and done bigtime.

Ask you something else?

Just make sure you record the interview somehow, call me cynical but, journalist out for a story occasionally bend the facts to make the story read how they want it, not necessarily how it happened.

I have read the atricle on thisisbristol and every quote they have used is exactly what I said so I have no problems.

WHAT???

Thatcher broke the Unions and in doing so smashed the country.

Do you think her legacy of anti social disrespect is entirely Blairs doing?

Well done to everyone who is not letting this go. I am still furious about what happened. I have not contacted media, but did complain direct to the police. The experience was not nice, and will send people away from football. I think the police should make a public apology.

That is the very least we deserve! Who did you complain to? I complained to A & S through their website this morning. When I was speaking to the EP they suggested that the Police Complaints commission.

I did the same as you, A&S. I think the next few days will be very interesting, now the media are taking the story. A&S will have to act in some way or another.

I think the Police should take some of the flak for Margaret Thatcher's anti social disrespect culture as well. Keeping their imposter Queen's peace - Royalist Gestapo Police seen here arresting a certain Trades Unionist leader circa 1984. Why didn't they arrest Tory leader Margaret Thatcher as well for her part in the trouble?........

I've posted a separate thread http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=76161 about a different course of action suggested by the Police & Stewarding Officer at the Football Supporters Federation if anyone wishes to read it.

What you're up against with any complaint against the Police is the 'funny handshakes brigade'. I bet the coppers that attacked our supporters with chemical weapons spray will be begging for protection from their local Free Masons lodge - they'll then have to do some favour for some bent Judge and/or Crown Prosecution Service lawyer Free Mason and they'll get that protection........

Don't you think your political twaddle on this thread dilutes what other people are trying to achieve. Your constant harping, whilst amusing, undermines and trivialises what some people regard as a serious issue.

I'm certainly not trying to trivialise and dilute what happened on Tuesday evening - why the hell should I ????!!!!! Each time there's a reply to this thread then the subject of the Police spraying our supporters with chemical weapons and batoning them gets back to the top of this message board. There are those that are suggesting that the Police are blameless for Tuesday night's violence - I'm merely smashing this Police argument by explaining a history of violence by the Police in photographs. It's about time the Police were made to account for their totally unecessary brutality.

I fail to see any connection between Tuesday night and the poll tax protests. Your constant references to gestapo etc trivialises the whole issue and undermines what some people feel very strongly about.

By your argument the police would claim a history of BCFC supporters being violent - the club had one of the more violent "firms", invaded the pitch at Ashton Gate and attacked or attempted to attack Rovers players at the end of a game and were involved in major violence at Nottingham just this season.

I would like to make an opinion on the post re police Tactics.

I think that the branding of police officers as 'thugs' is over the top,

many police officers do above and beyond what is expected from them.

I'm not for one minute condoning the actions of spraying CS into a

crowd, but had a full scale pitch invasion (with supporters from both

teams) occurred and someone had been killed (we see this abroad from

time to time) the same supporters that are calling the police thugs

would have been the first to throw criticism for the police doing

nothing.

I like many other people accept and know that the police have a very

difficult and thankless job (especially seeing many posts on this forum)

to do.

Had the 12 year old that got a mouth full of CS been hit by something

throw or crushed by idiots running from the back of the stand to get

onto the pitch then again the police would have been blamed for not

doing anything.

As it happens no one was killed, some were hurt and rightly are voicing

those complaints to the relevant persons. There are however persons who

are making complaints just because it's against the police.

I know police officers who are city through and through, they are good

people who do a difficult job.

Had fans not tried to get onto the pitch to get at the rovers fans this

sad situation would never had arisen. Why are we not getting at the root

of these problems and critising those that put the police officers into

that situation, I would guess that it is because its a lot easier to

criticise the establishment than look at the persons around us.

Again I'm not being obtructive to a person who rightly wants to make a

complaint, just wondering why people seem to want to jump on a band

wagon and seem to be afraid of making statements about the persons who

caused these problems from within our own club.

In my opinion the police do have a very hard job. I have friends (and even distant family) who are police. However, they used terrible tactics last Tuesday and some of the police were taunting fans - I saw it with my own eyes. The CS gas thing was terrible and no justification can be given to that.

I think we should judge each situation on its own merit, and therefore I think you argument (and others stating the opposite to be fair) are not directly relevant to this issue.
