Robbored
They don't seem to know much about us. Not one of our players gets a mention. Surprisingly they aren't moaning about how one-dimensional they are under Pulis and they see themselves as a one man team.

Big Red Rich
They don't seem to know much about us. Not one of our players gets a mention.I don't think thats a problem, each one of our players is working equally hard as the next without really making a huge name for themsevles (elliot possibly aside). We have cover in most areas so having a player out for a game or two isnt as big a problem as stoke losing fuller for example.
Nogbad the Bad
It's little wonder we don't get bigger gates. Even on that thread 2 of the Stoke fans live in Bristol. Bristol does have a big population but so many of these are incomers who support other teams. When we talk of the size of the city and potential for gates we should take into account that a fair percentage of Bristol's population are not actually born and bred Bristolians and will never support City. Compared with clubs like Newcastle this is a real issue.
double-trouble
http://oatcakefanzine.proboards27.com/inde...read=1198967034Goes a bit of topic towards the end, but you get the pictureWhat a surprise - being nice about us ( well quite a few )Lets be honest , forget us for a moment , there was'nt many football followers throughout the country that had Stoke to be up in the play offs at this stage of the season . Their fans are also questioning their staying power , non believers .Whatever their style of play , they are there , as us , through being more consistant than the other sides in the CCC.Pulis always comes across well in front of the cameras , even though I know the mans not liked in Bristol neck of the woods . From a footballing fans view , I think they will kop out in the next 10 games . By then we may well have a big enough gap between us and 7 th position to start considering what would have been , at the beginning of the season , a dream . Nogbad the Bad
Lame Sons of in argument imo, no disrespect intended, but go into local pubs in Bemmy/Ashton on Saturdays and see the Bristolians in their Liverpool/Arse/Man USA shirts, not incomers, Bristolians.Sky fans with replica shirts.Sons of incomers as well as glory hunters? If their families weren't born in Bristol they're much more likely to have no local allegiance and thus more likely to follow big teams. Anyway, you don't get the same in Newcastle. I've been up there and EVERYBODY has the black and white striopes on and not just on matchdays. Then factor in all of us 1000s of non -Bristolians following the City, from all over the place. That's great but only goes to show how many 'Bristolians' don't.When Newcastle were struggling, pre-Keegan they were getting gates of 9-10000. A little bit more but point taken. Fact is though 90% of the people of Newcastle follow Newcastle Utd. as their team and we'll never get 50,000 locals watching City every other week however big our ground or however well we do. Everyone up there is brought up from day one to follow Newcastle -it must be a fairly small percentage of Bristolians who have a local team in their blood.Nothing boosts like success, even relative success. That's true, let's hope we find out. Some "incomers" do convert to City- if they're going to live in Bristol continued success might see alot more ditching their Dad's teams or finding they can glory hunt much closer to home.
