Police Today?

In 25 plus years of following the lads away from home, ive never seen nothing like i seen today.

Embarrasing? It was a joke.

In a pub at 2pm, the local Met decided to put their presence outside, dress theirselves up in war gear, then march us to the ground.

No problems with a escort, but 10 min before kick off, judged all of us as nutters/holligans,and decided that we will miss the first 20 mins of the match.

It kicked off, and to be honest i think the met old bill got "off" on it!

Sadly, I'm seriously f@cked off with it at my age.

The officer in charge, didnt have a clue.

For me a bad day at the office all round.

Bring on Sheff Wed.....Arn

It was a disgrace, even more so the the farcical performance from our mob on the pitch!

Finally got to the ground at 3.10pm....but the Gates were locked so we had to wait for another "two or three minutes" before being told we had to go all rounnd the houses and enter the ground via the other end!!

Every 100 yards they would stop and hold us up....we got in the ground at 3.30pm!!! just in time to see QPR score their second goal

Like I said, the police performance was more shambolic then our clueless bunch on the pitch

Honestly they are a disgrace. Spent the afternoon at Fulham Police station for no reason what so ever. City in the highest position for years and I'm subject of a banning order despite doing **** all. Great isn't it.

Arny, luckily I went to the Walkabout which was sound! The treatment you mention isn't any different to the treatment at Wolves mate! We are all tarred with the same brush.

We pay for the privilege too!

I am getting fed right up with it, same as you! I suppose we have to thank the knuckle draggers who some people on here think 'make our atmosphere'!

Absolute crap mate! I want to have a beer, watch the game then go home. Is that too much to ask without treatment like you had today?

Probably be reading about you in the EP on monday.... 'Vicious Bristol City thug - intent on causing mayhem at QPR a Bristol City gangland mobster discovered with a concealed motorcycle chain hidden & wrapped around his waist was apprehended by vigilant members of an elite squad of specialist anti-football hooliganism police in the Capital on Saturday...' :farmer:

Its yer own fault Dan, you should know better than to wear a silver curb chain around your neck on matchdays even if it was a Christmas present from Santa... :xmas:

(presume you're not a hoolie btw?... you do seem to have more than your fair share of bad luck when it comes to the boys in blue... shoved arse over tit by police down the East End steps, then this at QPR etc.. just a thought, hope you weren't upto an insurance scam last week when yer Sat Nav, stereo & cash disappeared from yer car... always appear to be in the wrong place at wrong time.. -bit like our 'strikers' I guess ;) )

I was also arrested for grabbing on to a police men to stop myself falling over when some city fans charged during the escort. I was then told to get up you FAT s**t by the police men who also kicked me in the head whilst i was on the floor and chucked his helmet at my head when i was lead on the floor in the back of the riot van. I was also threatened they were saying i was lucky that there is cameras in the back of the van or i would of getting a hiding. When i was finally charged 3 hours after the final whistle i was told i was charged for causing harassment alarm or distress whatever that means

At least the old tart in the Plough managed to "rekindle" your spirits eh Arn! Wine and Spritza for the lady? hahaha! Love it!

Moving onto the Police, i didnt think they were to bad. They seemed Polite and approachable but when we walked out of White City station i thought that there had been a terroist attack (not joking!). Ive been to the cardiffs, millwalls and swansea's but never have i seen such a police presence. How many vans were parked up along the road arn? 15-20?

City loose, Rovers win, England Loose, and a mini bus thats restricted to 60 mph with half the passengers still in shepards bush at 6.45pm!!! Just another day in paradise!

Didn't get in to the game untill half three also. I really didn't see what they were trying to achieve.

We left the pub at approx 14.25, outside I was told by the Sgt, who was the local commander, we would have to wait and be escorted to the ground. When I asked under what piece of legislation they were preventing me going about my business I was told that 'You may carry out a breach of the peace.' Now I am not a lawyer but being held for something I might do in the future with no evidence apart from having a match ticket and had a couple of pints in a pub cannot be lawful. I took the officers number, so if anyone knows anything about law I would be interested to know if there is anything we can do.

I was in same escort, absolute farce. When i asked what was going on i was told it was a response to what happened at Palace 2 weeks ago. It was all planned to MAKE SURE we got in late. The OB were a joke, they wanted trouble and they got it, but only because of THERE atitude.

Exactly what I heard aswell, my mate walked outside of walkabout just infront of the escort + a policeman tried to nick him bending his fingers back. He didnt give a reason for doing it + no apology even though he couldnt move his fingers?? Joke. I was walking along + pushed me aggresively shouting move in, there was no need for it he was just looking for a reaction. Absolutely shambolic that they can push people around + treat people like they did yesterday, something needs to be done

I hope everyone who is unhappy about the escort is writing letters of compliant to the police about it?

Or is everyone going to moan on here and not bother to do anything about it? And just say stuff has to be done?

So everyone, open up word and type some letters

was also in oneils, and i didnt see any trouble at all until we got outside and the old bill decided to crawl us down to the ground. Every 5 mins or so they would stop us for no apparent reason and it became obvious we were going to miss kick off which was just winding everyone up more.

I saw one copper put the boot straight in some lad on the floor who fell over when everyone started charging.

When we finally got in the ground bout half 3 they wouldnt let us in the lower so everyone was jumping over the wall to get in! there wasnt a steward or copper in sight.

Ive never seen anything so unorganised at a football match, they really didnt have a clue.

Exactly as i seen it Andy.

I spoke to Tommy (our local copper) about it afterwards, and he actually apoligised and felt sorry for our fans.

Really makes me think about going away again

The same thing happened back in 2003 I didnt get in the ground until 330 that day. Yesterday I decided to leave the pub at 205. A policeman asked us if we were going to the match we replied "no" and carried on walking. There were loads of police riot vans parked on the green and it was evident that they were going to be out in force. So things don't really change that much in 5 years!!
