boadle
Bottom line for me is that footballers (like all atheletes) thrive on confidence. Our stoic support in times of adversity breeds confidence. Fans who believe that their booing 'informs' a player or a manager when he has made a mistake, and make him less likely to do so again, have obviously never played competitive sports, and understood the destructive effect of a supporter informing you that 'you are shit' during a game.In short, booing is counterproductive. True support breeds success.
