Gaffer
BBC Sport Play Off Predictions We really are not tipped to get through against palace, although Steve Claridge does say it will be a close tie. I love the fact that no one believes in us, and the players must be loving that too. The seige mentality will be getting stronger now and i fully expect a great performance from us saturday... greyfriars red
Good, I'm glad everyone is writing us off it will make promotion taste even sweeter. It's good being the underdog, we go up and supprise everyone and it's all great and if we fail we are still seen as a team who have acheived a hell of a lot this season. XBOXMAN69
He doesnt exactly right us off??!! "This a is very tough tie to call" "Crystal Palace - but I would not put any money on it"
Percy Parrot
He doesnt exactly right us off??!! "This a is very tough tie to call" "Crystal Palace - but I would not put any money on it" I was about to say that. I don't think that's writing us off at all. nester
yes he finishes with "Of all the teams in the play-offs only Palace are in really good form and it would not surprise me if all six of my predictions turn out to be wrong."
madmax
Palace may have won 5-0 the weekend, but we beat an up and coming Preston team 3-0...people seem to forget that. Also, the play offs are a lottery. But like others have said, this is the closest review kind of favouring us so far as all others I have read expect Palace to walk it to the Premier League easily. Robbored
Opinions, opinions and more opinons. The bottom line is that if anyone looks at the form table they will see City near the bottom and Palace near the top and because of that they see Palace as the more likely winner. Add to that Palaces 5-0 win on Sunday and you have even more reason to see them as favorites. And thats not all. Warnock has a brilliant play-off record. He's never lost out in them so yet another reason to fancy Palace. But.....The play-offs are a lottery. Any team can fool the pundits and City are no exception. City have played well in the last two games and are hitting some long overdue form at the right time. Palace could just be over confident and think that all they have to do is turn up..... As Claridge says - its a hard one to call, and I won't be putting any money on it. Tim S
In fairness I have to agree that Claridge doesnt really write us off, he just says what most people (other than city fans) are probably thinking on this one. Chris Kamara says pretty much the same - he in fact cant call it - he just says its going to be tight.
Portland Bill
yes he finishes with "Of all the teams in the play-offs only Palace are in really good form and it would not surprise me if all six of my predictions turn out to be wrong." This is a football forum, can you get that picture of that WITCH off of your posts please. Ciderhead87
Everyone is going about the 5-0 Plalace win on the weekend, but havn't mentioned the fact that Burnley were down to 10 men after just 5 mins and they didnt have anything to play for! IMO it really wasnt that greater result, and the way we have performed in our last two matches shows we are finding our form again!
ciderhead456
to be honest i think thats a fair review, it will be a close match and you have to admit that neutrals will always go for the form team in the play-offs
Gaffer
Well given that he backs Crystal Palace to go through, and therefore ending our season, i would say that that was writing us off. I liked Claridge as a footballer, especially never wearing shin pads(!) and i like him as a manager / commentator. Anyone who saw the running documentary of his days at Wycombe would see a really good football bloke, if not the most reliable!! My point was that i have yet to see anybody in the media predict City to go through, and that can only be a good thing for us especially in the away game at Selhurst. Don't under estimate the importance of being at home in the second leg. Take this seasons champions league. All 4 quarter finals, and both semi finals were won by the team at home in the second leg...

She ruined my early working( or should i say DOLE) years and i despise her You know I saw that image and felt exactly the same way. That woman destroyed so many lives and scarred this country for ever. To have a sig with that one bewilders me. Maybe I should get one with Joe Stalin or Mussolini on it? Please Nester old chap delete that image for the sake of our sanity.
megansdad
since we are off topic - Mrs T did not destroy the country - she made the changes necessary to set us up for the economic success we have achieved over the last 20 years. You only have to look to the mess that is the French economy to know that - Blair and Brown have been far more damaging and the sooner we get rid of the latter the better. Happy for everyone to write us off - we were written off at the beginning of the season and look where we are now.
Percy Parrot
I find the reaction to Thatcher amusing, though predictable. It's funny simply because I knew it'd get more of a reaction than Red Goblin's various ones over the years!

Union bashing, Miner bashing, poll tax promoting, rich getting richer, poor getting destitute 'there's no such thing as society' ' everyman for themselves' etc etc she was evil. we're going off piste here though, sorry. come on you REDS ! You only have to look to the mess that is the French economy to know that - Blair and Brown have been far more damaging and the sooner we get rid of the latter the better. Seperate thread discussion looming!! sorry but I hold her and her cronies responsible for essentially tearing our society apart, leading the rich to their promised land and the rest of us into a limbo that many still find themselves in. 'there is no such thing as society' - that was one of hers, at a time when the rich were creaming it and the rest of the country was being forced to it's knees. She turned the police into a tool of government, she broke up viable industries because she had issues about personalities (Scargill - and yes, coal mining is still viable, she didn't have the foresight to see how energy issues would develop as a consequence of her policies on North Sea Oil) selling off the nations silver for short term gain. Enabling industry fat cats to control our country (Murdoch etc) on their terms, fundamentally undermining the rights of us as citizens to stand up to the abuses of power, I could go on. The legacy of that? - a society where no-one gives a monkies about anyone - Hurrah for Margret ****in' Thatcher! Comparing us to the French is a non starter, we have never subscribed to their model, under the right or left. why not point at Somalia and see 'see, look at the evils of socialism' I guess you might be a tory then, good luck. - I reckon it's kind of irrelevant nowadays anyhow as right and left have merged into a seamless mess of top heavy, consultancy led BS. But I'd ask you to have this discussion in Yorkshire, or Mersyside or South Wales or Teeside where the hatred of that woman still runs deep. regards (hopefully we're agreed on one thing - City winning the playoff's!) I remember Thatcher...just! Though the History degree means it feels like I've always known her. Anyway - not getting political here about her. Just that I'm fairly certain Red Goblin has used Uncle Joe before among others. Not sure that even the most ardent unionist would suggest Thatcher was more evil! Orange Chairman
Fair assessment in my book. Palace are favourites with every bookie I've seen, and this is all based on form. But the form book goes out of the window when it comes to the Playoffs. Roll on Saturday.
