  1. It has happened at least once before under Manning. On that occasion it was Tanner who at the time was getting flak on here for being ‘negative’. The negative reaction yesterday may have been because we were losing at the time.
  2. Ever since the last WC referees have been adding more mins.. in one match I remember something like 11 added mins, even the commentators were stunned. Seems to have filtered down throughout the professional game.
  3. That’s my point - the Huddersfield players were time wasting during the 5 added mins so she added them on - good job she did!
  4. Chatting with my lad midweek he and his partner when to the Nutmeg an Indian restaurant in Clifton Village. He said it was excellent with a great variety of set menu’s to select from. We’re thinking of going there ourselves - has anyone else been there?
  5. I just perused the Huddersfield forum. Obviously they’re very bitter about the penalty award and complaining about the added time and accusing Rebecca Welch of being the worst referee ever. What they don’t t seem to realise is that the 5 added mins is a minimum and during that 5 mins their players were time wasting and she simply added it on - that’s good refereeing in my view and boy! I’m glad that she did. However - we City fans would have reacted in exactly the same had we been on the end of such a decision and reinforces my belief that we football fans are all the same regardless of which club you support.
  6. Three of those matches I didn’t actually see live. That means I’ve seen him play live just three times and stand my opinion that I’ve not seen enough of him yet to form an opinion.
  7. Personally I haven’t seen enough of Twine to pass judgement as yet - he’s been out injured and played very few times - what is now 3 starts? ………….
  8. I guess you weren’t at AG when City put 5 past Blackburn? Whilst BR were crap City took advantage and played some great stuff. Today was entirely different. The Terries defended well and City huffed and puffed and just couldn’t break them down - it happens.
  9. Good to see a City loanee finding the net.
  10. Just saw that Huddersfield are putting on three free coaches for AG this afternoon - so they’ll have at least 150 fans in the Atyeo…………..
  11. I thought it probably was but wasn’t sure if she’s the only active female referee so I looked on the PGMOL site.
  12. I only remember one good chance that fell to Vardy which Cooper saved. I thought the Foxes were toothless.
  13. The Foxes were fairly toothless at Home Park. Vardy had a decent chance second half but his effort was saved - apart from that the Argyle keeper a relatively easy night. Looks as if Leicester have bottled it. Three 1-0 defeats. Us, Millwall and now Plymouth.
  14. I think it is Phants - if we’d had a female referee before then we’d remember it. Be interesting to see if the players react differently to her if she makes a dodgy decision.
  15. LJ never impressed me, not as a player nor as manager. He achieved nothing in either career.
  16. I doubt the terriers will be as defensively poor as Blackburn were even tho they’re dangerously close to the drop zone. I’m expecting them to sit deep and try to counter so an early City goal will force them out and that could be fatal for them.
  17. It was excellent - but look who the opposition were. Another great atmosphere at AG was when Christian Roberts scored the winner against the Monkey Hangers and the Dolman Stand shook! That’s probably the best atmosphere that I’ve experienced at AG. That said in the average league match the atmosphere can be non existent. It’s rare to see AG rocking. However for a league match on a Wednesday night against Blackburn the ‘buzz’ around AG was pretty good as City romped to victory.
  18. Vyner and Dickie have become a very decent CB combination, the best pairing at City for several seasons. Based on that it’s no surprise that Vyner gets into many posters top 5.
  19. The atmosphere within AG (or any stadium) is generated by the action on the pitch. The atmosphere last night was pretty decent despite a relatively small number of away fans and because City were playing well against a poor Blackburn team and scoring goals. LJ used whinge about the lack of atmosphere at AG not realising that his style of play was the reason - there was very little to get the crowd going.

    Sykes

I don’t pay too much attention to opponents players on a match by match basis. Obviously I’m aware of the better known players like Vardy, Szmodics and et el. As I posted previously imv Sykes is underrated by many fans including City fans.

Sykes is an excellent Championship player who in my view goes under the radar and the club would be crazy not to offer him an extended deal. He’d get into any of the top Championship clubs, one of only two other City players that would.
  23. Dickie, Vyner, Williams, Pring and Sykes. Hang on to those five and there’s a solid foundation to build around.
