  1. Oh well…..it was well over half a century ago. Memory isn’t as sharpe as once was………….
  2. You’re right Atyeo retired in 1966 - I wrongly assumed that he’d been playing in my first ever visit to AG. The reason I only have faint memories of that day is that it was a 0-0 draw against Oxford.
  3. I don’t have much recollection of Dickie Rooks but he must have been playing when I first went to AG in 1967. John Atyeo was playing as well but aged only 12 it was a few decades before I discovered who City played that day.
  4. Did anyone see the Wolves equalising goal from a cross that was ruled out by VaR because a Wolves player ‘was blocking the goalkeeper’s vision’ - wtf!? None of the pundits on MOTD could understand it. All the keeper had to do was step either way……jeez …… no wonder O’Neill was livid
  5. It’s one of the few Championship clubs forum that I haven’t viewed.
  6. We’ll certainly be a Championship club next season and I’d to see us finish as high as possible this time around and I’m certain that Manning will share that view and I’m not expecting any significant changes in the remaining 5 games. It’ll be more of the same. Everyone knows that the summer ins and outs will have a significant impact on how we’ll do next season. Manning will have plenty of time ‘on the grass’ to get his methods over and only time will tell whether he is the right man for the job.
  7. That’s the first time I’ve seen Blackburn Rovers forum and it further shows that we football fans are very similar to each other regardless of which club you support.
  8. Spot on Dave, particularly the highlighted bits - I think most serious City fans would completely agree.
  9. I’d be very surprised if Nige took the Argyle job after saying that the City job was his last in management. I can see him going into punditry tho. That said Nige lives within a 10 min drive to the M5 and it’s about an hour and 45 mins to Plymouth - my daughter was at Uni there and I’ve done that trip numerous times.
  10. After the Walsall fiasco two police inspectors one male and one female visited me at my home and took statements. They were from Yorkshire Police I believe and both genuinely surprised at what I and other Cit fans had experienced especially that the WMP officers had their lapels down covering their numbers. These bastards knew exactly what they were doing. The fall out from that was that WMP were reprimanded. Whether heads rolled we’ll never know but I’m assuming that since then their attitude and strategies of handling football fans has drastically changed.
  11. Especially in the West Midlands……….what a bunch of shits they were……….
  12. That’s exactly why City a decent CF - on the summer shopping list apparently…….I’ll believe it hen it’s announced on the OS………….
  13. I actually like Plymouth Argyle - been to Home Park many times over the years. The walk up the hill once you’ve found a parking spot is quite a trek!
  14. He definitely did say it - in more than one post match interview.
  15. Listening on RB Max had another superb game and James had a great chance but hit it straight at the keeper. Another clean sheet especially with Dickie missing is a very decent point. Sunderland would have desperately looking to redeem themselves after the Blackburn performance but City kept them at bay. Well done all.
  16. Shame - he’ll be missed not just for his defensive abilities but his leadership skills as well.
  17. Don’t take any notice of that. BBC sports don’t know what position players can move to. As fans we know that Sykes would be wasted at CB…….,.
  18. With Dickie missing I guess Pring will move alongside Vyner, btw - what’s the issue with Dickie?
  19. Need a change of ownership for that to happen
  20. Nige did say that the City job would be his last in football management and he always struck me as a man of his word.
  21. Sport, particularly football is a massive platform and it’s inevitable that the odd player/coach will take the opportunity to make some kind of political statement. The powers that be should take every possible step to keep sport and politics separate. However there is no easy solution.
  22. Matt Hewlett blatantly handled the ball as well but the ref didn’t see it - it certainly was the most one-sided 1-1 draw. City dodged a bullet there.
  23. The Swedes are pretty good and England are find it tough to break them down. I wish England would have tried some shots from distance.. Female goalkeepers aren’t known for the shot stopping ability.
  24. Not so sure about that Dave - Dodds is/was rightly pissed right off with his team’s performance against Blackburn and has made it perfectly clear to them what his views are. The players know how disappointing their performance was and were expecting such a response from the head coach and that’s what they got - whether his way of dealing with such an embarrassing loss was the right approach we’ll find out tomorrow. Had I been one of those players I’d have known how crap we were as a team but would have given at least some credit to the opposition who took advantage of us - that’s something Dodds didn’t mention. I mean how good were Blackburn? If City can bag an early goal tomorrow then that’ll hopefully have a negative effect on them and they crumble again.
