  1. Vyner and Dickie have become a very decent CB combination, the best pairing at City for several seasons. Based on that it’s no surprise that Vyner gets into many posters top 5.
  2. The atmosphere within AG (or any stadium) is generated by the action on the pitch. The atmosphere last night was pretty decent despite a relatively small number of away fans and because City were playing well against a poor Blackburn team and scoring goals. LJ used whinge about the lack of atmosphere at AG not realising that his style of play was the reason - there was very little to get the crowd going.

    Sykes

I don’t pay too much attention to opponents players on a match by match basis. Obviously I’m aware of the better known players like Vardy, Szmodics and et el. As I posted previously imv Sykes is underrated by many fans including City fans.

We’ll have agree to disagree Tone………

Sykes is an excellent Championship player who in my view goes under the radar and the club would be crazy not to offer him an extended deal. He’d get into any of the top Championship clubs, one of only two other City players that would.
  6. Dickie, Vyner, Williams, Pring and Sykes. Hang on to those five and there’s a solid foundation to build around.
  7. Nope - that’s probably because they’re not any Dave. However Blackburn were defensively all over the place and City took advantage of Hynam having a desperately rotten night - you can only beat what’s in front of you as they say.
  8. Good idea but depends on whether A&S police agree to it. Cheaper tickets is also a sensible suggestion but personally I have little faith in JL even thinking about that as a sweetener.
  9. I wasn’t surprised to see Eustace make changes at ht but wasn’t expecting to see 4 all at once and I’m glad that I wasn’t a Blackburn player in the changing room. I can image how toxic the atmosphere must have been.
  10. No doubt Hyam had a ‘mare of a game and was their weakest link but he wasn’t the only one - the entire defence was a shambles cruelly exposed by City’s pace.
  11. I think Appydaze comment was tongue in cheek Graham. Max had very little to do all game.
  12. It’s important not to get too high or too low after a match as Manning would say but I’ll bet that all the players and fans are really buzzing having stuck 5 past a piss poor Blackburn Rovers who were defensively shite particularly in the first 45 but you can only beat what’s in front of you. Its refreshing to leave AG with that buzz after such a game - I can’t remember the last time City scored 5 in a Championship match.
  13. That was Joe Williams for me - he was terrific and showed exactly why City signed him.
  14. The Post could certainly do with a proper sports journalist.
  15. Came over really well I thought. Articulate, relaxed demeanour, very comfortable in front of the journalists and dealing with the questions easily - not that they were particularly difficult. Let’s hope he gets on the scoresheet tonight.
  16. I can’t be bothered to listen. His pressers seem all the same to me. No doubt he mentions ‘time on the grass’…….…..
  17. ………the sister of one of the hierarchy EEOB……
  18. None of know the real reason why he was sacked - it certainly wasn’t his record which is pretty impressive. Maybe he was knocking off the wife of one of the hierarchy……..….. or maybe one the daughters?
  19. In recent history in the Championship the points needed to avoid the drop is 48/50 and City as you say were never in danger of slipping into the danger zone but some fans panic if they see City nearer the bottom three to the top six and lose all perspective……..fickle fans and all that……..…… In recent history in the Championship the points needed to avoid the drop is 48/50 and City as you say were never in danger of slipping into the danger zone but some fans panic if they see City nearer the bottom three to the top six and lose all perspective……..fickle fans and all that……..……
  20. I’m not sure that Conway has ever had aggression as part of his game and you’re absolutely right that he’s not in the same class as Scott or Semenyo. I seriously can’t see any other Championship club coming in for him let alone a PL outfit. If he go I can only see him going abroad.
  21. I didn’t think it was offside and that’s not why VaR ruled the goal out. According to them it was the player ‘was blocking the keepers view’. Had it been offside that’s what VaR would have said.
  22. That wasn’t the VaR explanation Malt. The official VaR reckoned that the player ‘was blocking the keepers view’ How ridiculous is that?
