  1. Across the pitch - I’ll try and catch the from behind goal one ?? Edit - Seen that one now Dave and agree it looks far worse from that angle as you can see he puts his whole body into it and I’d say red I still don’t see a significant difference in amount of force and the danger tho ! Neither are simple forceful pushes
  2. Not for me Dave - the force , Carey’s stance at the moment he’s pushed meant a less impactive impact for me Just had another look at it to reconsider , but less violent IMHO Good job we aren’t referees
  3. Anyone know where a win tomorrow . would put us in the table ?
  4. Unfortunately I don’t - it was during the Saturday pre match build up On a seperate but very relevant note Burnley v Blackpool Almost identical scenario to Tuesday night Bad challenge from Carey , the Burnley player fouled then jumps up and pushes Carey in the back from behind , quite forcibly , pushing him over ,but not with the force Freeman used , and the usual pushing and shoving melee involving teammates ensues Straight red for both (Referee was Keith Stroud fwiw) Consistency ehhhhhh
  5. Yep , a good player - Exciting His time here completely overshadowed by those pens
  6. Darren Bent just chatting to Jeff Stelling about Nigel comments Fair play to Bent , said he’s played for NP , that he’s dead straight , and that he’s seen some horror decisions not given for us / against us and backs up what NP had to say
  7. Right .....one place left in the enclosure to claim ....... Who was it ? Come forward ! ?
  8. I think he’s the one player that can dictate the pace of the game for us and help us control games , the central pivot so to speak (as he did for England U19s in latter half of the Euros) Big ask for such a young player At this level, but certainly football wise he’s mature beyond his years and is capable of that role , especially as he gains experience
  9. Don’t underestimate the determination / drive and professionalism of the player as well
  10. I see Pearson (*Could have been Joe Williams - just listened to both) on his pre match saying Conway always keen to tapping into the knowledge of the coaching staff and the senior pros This lads giving himself literally every chance , and another reminder about good senior pros and we’ve got some belters in terms of good pros , good examples to the younger and happy to pass on experience and knowledge , whatever one thinks of their value on a Saturday afternoon itself I see Joe Williams mentioned that Andy King has always looked to chat and guide , pass on his experience , individually to his teammates from the time he arrived , not just since the new coach/player role Ive heard Souness say several times , You won’t achieve anything if you don’t have good senior pros in the dressing room Whatever people think of the here and now contribution on match days of Martin , Weimann, James , King , Klose NP has certainly created a healthy and professional ‘learning environment’ and the impact on all those younger coming through and around them we will never be able to fully judge , and may prove fruit after Pearson and those players , but I really like what we see and hear as an overall Club and future prospective , however frustrating and disappointing some performances and results have been and may be , right now.
  11. I think the Ryan Giggs poetry revelations has affected a few Don’t read it Nige
  12. You’re not Ryan Giggs are you ?
  13. Yep, to me those two comments about him , sort of sum up exactly how I see him , and his core strength He’s very experienced , and his football knowledge and experience deeper than all of us put together , but I dont think he’s an ‘innovative’ coach or tactical genius , and said before but I think he’s a demander of standards , a TEAM builder , who focuses a lot on attitude and team togetherness Sounds good to me and for our Club Gary Johnson anyone .....
  14. I read an interesting post on Leicester’s forum where the author recounted how initially Pearson got rid of any dross and initially signed young hungry players and they were much better but fell short Appearing to have identified this , The second season he signed some wise experienced heads to add to the squad and hey presto When you look at some of the younger players we have coming through here , it appears from his business that he’s signing young and hungry too add to the pot and experienced heads to guide , in the same process (Learnt from experience ?) We are not financially in a position to sign players allegedly at their prime, and I’m not convinced Pearson going down that route even if we were It looks to me that he’s trying to build a side maximising the young talent we currently have, and coming through , and I think the challenge appeals to him
  15. I can pick myself out as I was wearing a very fetching sheepskin coat ? (Remember them ?)
  16. Thought the most significant thing I’ve heard about him was NP making the point that he was a ‘fast learner’ When I’ve seen him on the odd occasion coming through he seemed to look a ‘better footballer’ , each time you saw him , with a bit more added to his game , and a bit of a leader You get the impression that he clearly loves what he does , is really appreciative of his opportunities , and is a bit of a ‘prize student’ , ultra keen and appreciative to learn, absorb and improve Add some natural ability , and you’ve got a real chance haven’t you !
  17. Ta , Looks a real gamble , but I’ve been surprised by their apparent spending for years
  18. Not worth a new thread but anyone catch Jurgen Klopp calling out Gabby Agbonlahor about his comments about Man Utd players on a TalkSPORT show, during / after the Brentford Pointed out that Agbonlahor was part of a Villa side beaten 6-0 under him and suggested he’s not one to comment on fighting attitude ! Said he almost rang in , shame he didn’t ! Made me chuckle , fair play
  19. ? Colin Gordons challenge in the keeper ? Think you are right ! I was a tunnel hugger in the Enclosure back then , opposition and officials certainly got some back then ! ? He (Gordon) did alright for us didn’t he
  20. Try not to ‘over analyse’ things Mr P (Been there ! Done that) FWIW I think you probably dodged a bullet, sometimes simple fate has a way of controlling things ! Be yourself , always , the right ones will see through any fog I hope you take this the right way , but I chuckled how you eloquently described the first date ! I think you can see some funny side in it too , and that’s good My advice - Relax & Be yourself , learn a few tactical lessons by all means (We’ve probably all made similar !) but I f you try to become something you’re not , things will almost certainly unravel Its about being a good person , not an image portrayed bud
  21. Couple of interesting comments from Leicester fans Nige gave us a real us against them mentality which I think is endearing to a club of our size, whereas with Rodgers we've been media darlings which I don't particularly like Doing the same here ? That's why so many love Pearson over Rodgers. Rodgers would throw his players under the bus to save himself. Pearson would throw himself under the bus to save his players. Yep, you can see that
  22. Trying time follow yourS , mr P’s knowledge and understanding of finances and FFP Alright as long as you don’t get relegated I assume Dave ? Do I follow , and is it that simple , that those deals you highlight (Appreciate you are estimating wages) would mean you are basically dealing with a £77m deficit for each of the following four seasons , in terms of FFP, on the balance sheet (Ignoring any income or other expenditure) ? Bit of a problem in Championship ! A Fire sale I assume , or some dodgy transfer dealing to Greece
  23. Quite incredible, and a total embarrassment Hes been refereeing ...how many years ? Wtf was he doing at the time , writing his Daily Mail column ? Total incompetence
  24. You do get that Pearson’s words (Rant ?. ?) was not just about the Freeman / Sykes incident , or even the refereeing in the Luton Game, but about the general standard of refereeing You got the bit regarding the letter from the Match Officials Organisation that Hulls penalty should not have been awarded and we should have been awarded two in the same game ? , just for example
