  1. I was more referencing players getting a quick head up and not being able immediately pick out a player especially on a longer pass. I’d also made reference to some of the research done on the psychology and visual benefits of different colour shirts rather than something to make a few quid in the club shop with. To my mind White would have been a better away shirt for today.
  2. Got my halves confused, was corrected on another post.
  3. That’s fair. I confused the first and the 2nd half with that double save of Max’s. But yes we had enough 1st half chances to have put the game to bed as well.
  4. You can enjoy the wins but still question the overall ability of the manager, those 2 opinions can still be valid. One swallow does not make the summer and all that. The last 2 results have bought him time, the jury is very much still out for me. The football is slightly better and a bit more entertaining. We beat Leicester but on another day they could have been out of sight in the first half if Vardy had brought his finishing boots with him. Most posters and even the negative ones have watched enough football to appreciate and acknowledge if there is an improvement, and most will enjoy being wrong if that’s the case, as ultimately City will be more successful and ultimately more entertaining. If seeing that gives you kicks then good for you.
  5. Very much so it gives him freedom to roam and get into dangerous positions, plus playing Roberts and Pring means that he does not have to track back quite so much.
  6. Same old tired arguments on either side of the debate that just get churned out. Manning has not achieved enough in the game nor his time here to come up with the pound for pound better comparison of an experienced and arguably successful league manager over the duration of his career. Personally I don’t think he’s all that, but he has bought himself some time. He’ll be judged on where we are next season.
  7. You can’t use the word infamy anymore… although got to be a certain age to get the reference
  8. Not sure I see the irony, but it is a dull post. I rather think you like the attention. Oh the infamy.
  9. No, but it’s desperately boring to post shit like this. Time will tell whether the new manager will be a success, we’ve done the minutiae of comparing every single metric.
  10. How the **** did the assistant ref not see that. Stroud was looking across for some help. I despair.
  11. Not worried merely observing. There is some very good research on sporting kit colours both from a psychological and vision perspective. There’s always been a suggestion in the NFL that players in white shirts seem bigger. There’s more science in it that just a few quid in the club shop, although arguably our shirt determination is how cheaply in can be provided.
  12. I am old-ish. Lived more years than I’ve got left.
  13. I recall a Man U away shirt that was changed at half time in a game because the players couldn’t see one another with the crowd backdrop. I can only comment on the TV pictures I’m watching, but from a tv perspective the away shirts do not stand out that well. Is that going to be the same for a player who is getting a momentary head up? Dreadful away kit
  14. At least you know he’s going to be consistently shit
  15. Both teams in green of some sort. Plus our passing suggests the players can’t see one another clearly. And this yellow kit is utter shite
  16. Our opening effort is as insipid as our clashing away kit.
  17. £2 million and a young lad called Scott in part exchange, just made a few prem appearances.
  18. Ref’s a joke. Has been all game. Really don’t need a Leicester player falling theatrically in the box in injury time
  19. Not sure that Chris Honor is a club employee other than the occasional appearance fee so I imagine he’s got scope to post his own opinion and I think he’s usually very balanced. Likewise Richard Latham might not be so close to today’s club as such, but his experience of being a local football journalist who reported on City for years and knows the Lansdown’s should not be dismissed as it could be a good indication on the thoughts of the inner sanctum. To my mind it was an interesting episode with some good points made. Clearly not for you as I suspect you’d have only enjoyed it if there it was 50 minute echo session for your current perspective. Sometimes it’s good to have your own views questioned or at least another opinion put in front of you.
  20. Scored lots of useful goals for Luton, all forwards need a run of games to get going, you’ll never see his more attacking qualities when he gets the standard 10-15 mins usually when the game is ****** and Manningball turns into Lumpball. Good squad player but does not fit into whatever system Manning is trying to manifest.
  21. That chant just makes a very good point to the board and very apt given the Leicester connection. Plus it's natural to compare a very good experienced manager to what appears to be a coaching fraud…
  22. Gets the point across to those in the directors seats…. If the team delivers then fans will get behind them, if they come up with the drivel that identifies itself as “front foot football” then the fans will also make that point too, not only to them but to the head coach.
