Okay, beaten in the end by a side who were better than us, but fair play, we gave it a real go. Along with most others, I’ve been really disappointed after the last three games but tonight felt different.
Finally, well done to our fans who made the journey, horrible place to get to and it takes flipping ages.
Felt different but in the end they battered us. We fell apart, yes I agree it was better but it’s the same old Bristol City. This club will never get to the PL, about time we just accepted it and dropped the PR stunts.

Well done to Mark Ashton. Personally never had an issue with the guy. Credit where it’s due, has built a strong recruitment strategy with Luke Werhun. Difference is they got the management right and owners appear to have not interfered.

Exactly that
But we fell apart last 10 mins and should have ended up on a thrashing. Blimey it’s like we played Man City the way some are going on. Manning has weakened our mental strength as a team, it’s clear to see.

Some mental posts here tbh.
I dont think you can fault our endeavour, and a significant improvement over the Cardiff game. Unfortunately Ipswich dont ever give up and we made a few individual errors.
You would have to be very polarised to directly blame Manning tonight
Have you seen the guys record? Hello? Another defeat!

Yea we were, we went 1 up and missed a good chance to get a second before they even got into the game. Fine margins, they upped their game for 30 mins and we dropped off. We lead the game twice but didn't adapt to their changes and tempo. We literally couldn't have been more in the game for an hour so I don't agree that we had no hope against a promoted side from League 1 last year.
Keep being told what a good finisher Nakhi is! Well I’ve never seen that from the guy, he misses more sitters than goals.

Look it was a better performance but how can we fall apart like that with 10 to go. It was poor overall, could have ended 4 or 5 easily. So Bristol City to save a pen then concede an OG mins later.

Another defeat. End of! Manning out.

Tinnion has probably had a promotion too far. It wasn't that long ago that he was viewed as a genius skillfully placing academy kids out on loan, monitoring their progress and feeding back information when they might advance to the 1st team squad. Funny how things change.
Not what you know, who you know. I’m still waiting for Millen to come back as CFO.

I thought Hoggy was gonna do it, and I’d missed it.
Who on earth is he? The guy in the odd training photo who looks shocked to be here?

The fact we are even debating a thread on this shows all is not well at the club.

I'm a bit unsure why he thinks they don't need coaching in the final third.
I cannot listen to Manning, worst manager since SOD at interviews.

Nige deserved the chance to stay to the season end at least, the board should have really looked at far reaching options if they were deciding to part ways. Manning’s appointment made no sense at all with the players we had, in fact the points made around a progressive appointment and top six aspirations this season was crazy talk by JL, BT and all.

There was a crazy moment in second half where Max and Dickie, both under no pressure, took an age to decide how to bring the ball out, Dickie then promptly gave it away, we had a yellow card for a cynical foul and conceded a dangerous free kick just outside the D. It was astonishingly bad.

I honestly don’t think they will act before it’s too late. That would be an admission of failure on their part. So is there a real risk that we could go down? Under Manning and the hierarchy at the club, absolutely. And if not this season, then next looks even more of a struggle if Manning stays.
Look how Burnley have struggled under Konpany in the Premier League. This way of playing needs considerably better players than the opposition, which actually means it’s not easily transferable without considerable investment, potentially more than a club can actually afford without significant additional financial means, either being owned by a Petrostate or in the Championship, parachute payments.
They won’t sack him, even if we go down.

I wonder if his stock has fallen since Manning took over? With the high profile West Ham goals probably not.
But if I was him I’d be looking for something different. Him and Wells look a very different combination than they looked under Nige.
He his not playing well under Manning, looks unhappy.

Play Tommy with Wells and go back to backs for goodness sake.

Nigel is a top top guy and what we did to him was a joke. Club made a the biggest mistake in a long long time.

Remember that YouTube video. The likes of Tommy look miserable and unimpressed by the way Manning addresses the team (with Tinnion hanging around in the background as the real boss). Honestly from the word go I couldn’t believe in Manning, seeing the confused way we went about things at Loftus Road summed up what was to come. A simply terrible appointment.
What has he done to players like Tommy and TGH, they were light years ahead under Nige.

The plus side is Liams from round there so hopefully we can just drop him off somewhere round Portman Road and save the bus fare home from the compo package.
Can we ensure he stays in East Anglia for many years please? Thanks.

Good pod today to take part in. Almost went into 2 hours ( probably too long, apologies to @Curr Avon's wife....
Thomas and I were on our way back from the Sheffield game, so couldn't be on the previous week. I'd heard from @headhunter that it got a bit heated and David doubled down with the F bomb today .
I hope we came across as passionate, but measured and with the ability to make comments based on factually correct statistics.
Thomas is still in rehab after his ankle operation in late November, but from being in an Academy himself is able to not only relate to the coaching methods on show, but also potentially the lack of man management taking place.
As I said on the Pod, the Swansea game is a crossroads for me. If we can get a performance and 3 points it'll be massive. Lose the next 2 and then WBA away and Leicester at home; whilst probably being 3 points or less off 22nd. Tough times and I haven't seen anything from Manning yet that he is up for the fight.
The time for banal phrases and words is over. We need to see action on the pitch. Over to you Manning and Hogg.
Hogg, that’s his name. The forgettable number two, he looks clueless on the touchline.

He is like a talentless Chris Sutton, Brian Moore or Micheal Vaughan.
The trend to put someone in who is contrary and controversial - I’m sure the pod host knows that and that’s why he’s there. IMO he added nothing else for me today, just comes across as someone who is that dangerous mix of arrogant and ignorant. The ultimate know it all, out of touch, old idiot in the pub. Sorry if that’s too personal.
But ultimately there are almost as many posts on this thread about Ian Gay than not….so from a ‘click’ perspective…
I watched for the first time out of interest today, I won’t watch again if that Ian is on - but if they do without him I’d tune in personally.
The way this club is going Ian will soon be on the board probably.

When we win our next game Tinnion will be crowing on X. Pathetic really, just leave it altogether and do your job!

Just seeing the text stuff in the last few mins.
Ian like a big baby - “Nigel Pearson fanboys”, that’s all he can use to rationalise his outdated views on football.
Ian is the only city fan still behind Manning.

A few questions for Ian - so you supported NP out because you felt someone could do better and we were inconsistent.
But now we’re still inconsistent and in fact doing worse than under Pearson…
And it’s now the player’s fault?!
And if as you claim, it’s so obvious and simple, been the same for years, why haven’t you said it before? When NP was sacked, for example?
And if you think the squad isn’t good enough, whose fault is that?
And why hasn’t that been addressed for years?
And why don’t you call out those who are and have been in charge of recruitment for years?
Because he has befriended Tinnion no doubt!
