I am fully aware that some teams attack and some sit back and defend and this impacts our success HOWEVER, what I cannot understand is when we have a home local derby our players showed no energy, drive, passion, and generally looked like they would rather be anywhere else.

Fast forward the make the long trip to Ipswich where we have a modest away following and transformed into an aggressive, together, hungry and motivated group. Tackles were flying in and the speed of passing and movement off the ball was great.

So next we have Swansea at home and I have absolutely no feeling about which team will turn up.

It’s Mother’s Day so I won’t be going and thank God for that.

Need to see more of McCrorie to judge.

You are probably right about James but I would prefer Naismith over all of them.

McCrorie is ok but has been underwhelming.

If you remember back to when Nige arrived he expressed concern about players’ fitness.  We seem to be slipping back into old ways under Manning.  I really don’t like the sidelining of the Academy players under Manning.  Worried re summer recruitment, as should he still be here, god forbid; will we recruit, as in the recent past, too many have been’s and never will be’s.

To be honest the 7 subs thing is ridiculous. Surely good experience for academy players to be on the bench and part of match day. Seriously getting fed up with this appointment, lost some great people in Nige, Curtis and Jason.

Manchester United lining up Gareth Southgate after the Euros 😮

I think I would prefer Mannning to Southgate!

If you see the play Dear England, you change your perception of Southgate and the culture he has built. Albeit I think he is tactically naive.

Wasn’t he the bloke Tinnion signed who immediately stopped putting any effort in?

Ah yes, Tinnion’s signings. Shall we list them? Or not! Failures the majority, yet now running our own recruitment.

  5. Steve has invested a lot of time and money in the club and deserves a bit more respect to be honest. Yes I think the time has come for change and the football decisions in general are baffling, certainly this crazy structure with Tinnion involved but we wouldn’t have the facilities now enjoyed without Steve. However he should have seen sense with Nige IMO and kept him at the club, things were developing in right direction, the Manning appointment is no better than Holden.

So, Manning is not a coach I would have hired and its fair to say he's been a mixed bag so far.  Some great wins, good cup performances and already has a string of crap losses to his name.  He seems to have a lack of consistency at the moment.

But looking at things in a different way, with this being his first stint at Championship football and the fact he's young and inexperienced, he's bound to be developing and should be much better next season.  What are the chances of him being the right man to drive the club on?

I remain confident that If we approach the remaining ten games like last night, we'll still be in the Championship, although we need to beat Swansea on Sunday to ease the concern.

When it comes to Manning, right now, I want him to show more passion and develop some character, and after a defeat, take the loss on the chin, admit his own mistakes, and stand up for the team no matter what.

Manning is another LJ. All about him and throws players under the bus rather than take responsibility. He needs to go, hes not good enough for what we require and as DaveFevs said is going against what he said were his fundamentals at the outset.

Yawn. I've been saying this for years. Glad everyone else has now seen the light though.

Quick one to cheer everyone up: the last time Jon was left in charge was the McInnes and SOD days (both were his picks) which ultimately ended in relegation from the Championship. Same may well happen again.

For sure will Kid, absolute mess. Change needed or it’s the same cycle.

I said it felt like Mcinness and Tony Docherty all over again when we appointed Manning and Hogg. A bit like when the Tinnion mistake was repeated with Millen and then unbelievably again with Holden! Oh and which managers have presided over the best football at city or at least positive rebuilds/successes? The experienced ones! Nige, Danny Wilson, Gary J and Cotts! Please learn Steve!

Looking back at Tinnion's "see you in the premiership" tweet, it makes you wonder whether he genuinely believes we are a top 6 squad.  Insane to think both Pearson and Manning could end up being sacked because of it.

That was the most unprofessional, ridiculous thing to post. It came across as petulant. Then he returned after a couple of wins and like posts being constructive around how Nige was apparently backed, only to promptly disappear again when going got tough. If we had won last night he would have been all over the socials, that’s not leadership. Leave it all together.

Should never have left Oxford, this division is above is head.

Serves him right, he has never seen a project through. Stay at Oxford, get them up, establish them in the Champ and then see. He’s not ready.

He doesn't suit the system, the problem isn't Tommy, the problem is what Tommy is being asked to do,

He's been asked to play as a loan striker with his back to goal, that doesn't suit his physical make up or his ability,

He's better off playing in a front too, and getting on the end of crosses from a wide man or strike partner

He thrived under Pearson style and is struggling under mannings style

Yes and we will lose him without a shadow. Think decision has been made to cash in, no sign of new deal and he seems unhappy.

  11. Positioning poor for the second goal, should save that. A new keeper is needed this summer, thought we missed the boat with Horvath at Cardiff. He was excellent.

I hope the board realise that it is not working under BT in the summer and get rid. He was a great player but awful manager and if he is responsible for recruitment that deserves a sacking on its own.. Leave him to oversee the youth set up if you like but dont let him have any input into 1st team affairs he seems to have too much influence

Tinnion does need to go, still cannot believe he was given that role. Stay as a club legend player side and leave it at that.

Shocking treatment. And that shows why they aren't suitable custodians of our club. And an example of why NP is held in high regard by many.

Brian Tinnion also should have been more understanding considering how awful his spell as manager was.

I have no doubt that Manning is a great coach.

I have no doubt we need a manager, not a coach.

What example of great coaching have you seen in a side that has regressed? Cannot defend anymore and create very little.

  15. Lose to Swansea and he needs to definitely go, but I don’t think he will. However if any good time to do it, there is an Int break coming up after WBA. He has to beat an average Swansea side managed by another alleged candidate for the job he has taken. No ifs, no buts. Win.

Did anyone listen to his pre match interview on RB too? I really just don’t like the bloke, he sounds like a slightly more intelligent version of LJ with the constant coach speak and waffle, it puts me to sleep every time I hear it.

The one thing I miss more than anything about Nigel and Curtis is that neither suffered fools or spoke any bullsh*t, which goes a long way with fans.

Manning is very LJ. But the sad thing is I would take LJ over him and I didn’t rate LJ.

It's SL's money and investment at the end of the day…if we get relegated

I am not going to knock the hard work SL has put in to the club eg stadium/HPC, losses funding etc, however it is feeling like the club needs change, as risky as that could be sometimes risk can be exciting, it is stale at present and we just seem to be going through the same cycles.

No , he’s not up to it . Neither are the board. Why let him get some players in only to sack him & someone else got players they don’t want.
all our experience is leaving. We’ll be left with a young squad , a young out of his depth manager & an incompetent board & technical director . We will get relegated if he stays next season

We wasted the Kelly/Webster cash with an incompetent manager, let’s not make the same mistake twice.

I do feel a bit sorry for him. The players can't adapt fully to how he wants to play. I'm sure the club isn't going to rebuild the squad in the summer for him. Perhaps he'll be better off elsewhere

Hoping he walks, he shouldn’t have been given this job. Totally wrong fit. Sadly Brian and Jon are stubborn and will back him this summer, rinse and repeat.

  20. Manning loves a 60th min sub. Shame he didn’t think of a sub after going 2.1 up, anyone who watches Ipswich knows how strong they finish games.
