  1. Totally agree, don’t see what all the fuss is about. We don’t need a number 10 (what is this number 10 nonsense, call it a creative attacking midfielder, an 8 like KDB and Odegaard/Fernandez, they are not 10’s. We need a player to play at the top of a midfield three and then two pacy wide men with a powerful striker.

Unlike the Blackburn game. There were no gifted goals today to paper over another poor performance - apart from the referee giving us a very questionable penalty.

It's not just performances though.  The togetherness isn't the same as it was under Nige, something I enjoyed was we worked hard for each other. Now it reminds me of back in school when you'd play up when a supply teacher came in.

Wow. Exactly what I’ve just posted….Manning ball is dire and it was v Plymouth and Sunderland too, lucky to have won both those games. Papering over the cracks, big summer ahead.

  3. Real progress! Top six squad we were told! Progressive appointment….sorry a couple of scrappy results isn’t convincing me (and I include a 5.0 win in that which for me was almost as bad a performance as some of the others…gifted 5 goals and created little ourselves). Worried for next season, he will get the summer and first 10 games for me but I’m not convinced he is any better than LJ.

Went straight down the tunnel at full time

Called this after Leicester game. Walked out away from players and calling a taxi on his own, didn’t seem interested in speaking to fans, headphones on, these things happen but can’t see him getting a deal.

We look very good as a squad at the back now, great options not much if any tinkering needed

This summer we don’t need to sign any defensive players IMO. Focus on creative players and goalscorers, adding much needed pace and physical strength. I would say we still need a good keeper to challenge Max, but it’s not as critical based on second half season form from MOL.

Shame he didn't join us at the start of this season

Was it really that good? Blackburn gifted us every goal and our final ball was poor as usual along with second half majority. Thrilled to win 5.0 but I’m still not convinced by Manning. Give him the summer to see what he can do.

  7. It was dire, a long way to go to watch a bore draw. My first visit there and what a terrible ground, they are definitely the Gas and Spurs to City and Arsenal. But my word are we a poor side going forward, I honestly cannot recall watching a city side with a lack of players who get you off the edge of your seat. Could literally trade the whole forward line. As for Twine, I don’t see what the fuss is about, nor why Manning wants to set up in this way. Positives are we have a very solid back line and Max is proving the critics wrong, me included, albeit I would still like to see some decent competition.

  8. Always felt they are a more fluid side without Haaland. Also starting to really think KDB is not at that top level considering his injuries. Alvarez was the player they likely needed v Arsenal considering Saliba has had Haaland in his pocket in 3 games now.

Kane fits much better into that Man City side, which is probably why Man City tried to sign him before they signed Haaland.

Totally, Kane is the best all round forward in Europe. His approach play and ability to create chances as well as score sets him apart. He is sadly cursed as a player though, 11 years of title wins for Bayern and he goes there and this happens, his consolation will be a Cannon trophy to rub it in for top scorer (he was an Arsenal fan as a kid to be fair).

Kane at 30 is a career bottle job. Won nothing. He even bottled moving to Man City.

Haaland at 23 has won pretty much everything.

Much better player than Haaland? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 please.

He is clearly better than Haaland. Haaland is woeful, Chris Wood would score as many in that team

  11. Hmmm. I have to say was surprised and disappointed to see the attitude after Leicester game, so many of the players chatting away and signing autographs. The said player walked away around from where fans were with headphones on and didn’t engage, wasn’t well received. Doubt will be here in summer, gave the impression wasn’t interested.

Unchanged initially feels like an odd choice given how different the opposition are.

Feels reactive rather than proactive, but I guess the other view is that Friday was a slightly different set up to our "normal" one, so maybe that was when we saw the shift and this is now the new normal...not sure about that though.

Sykes has to play. I’d prefer him as RWB

Unpopular opinion = Harry Kane is a far better player than Erling Haaland.

He is a much better player than Haaland and would have scored just as many, if not more had he managed to get the move there. Haaland’s hold up play and overall game is lower league standard as Keane said. Kane’s is world class.

Haaland is a strange one for that Man City team. Unless he scores he hinders the team. They were a lot more fluid before and could change things if it wasn't working. Haaland is rarely subbed isn't he? So it's usually just a change to the wide players, Doku doesn't really do much and Grealish doesn't have a great impact sometimes. They miss Mearez I think. Even Cole Palmer would've given them something different.

Agree with the view on SSN today that Alvarez for Haaland may have helped City win yesterday. Something different for Saliba and Gabriel to think about.

That I agree with! Pring and Robert’s had Ndidi and Fatuwu to deal with and defended well against them both, but Max’s saves puts him out as MOM, James bought calm to the midfield and I think playing Knight further back helped us as well

Better balance today but worries me that Manning said after it was to counter Leicester (the 3 at back). It worked Manning, keep it this way, possibly like to see Sykes ahead of Tanner on the right. Albeit McCrorie was a threat when he came on.

Despite supposedly losing the dressing room, being out of his depth, and boring I'd say our manager deserves a lot of credit for today's excellent victory against Premier League bound Leicester.

Although I expect several of you to disagree.

This place is crazy. One win doesn’t change the fact he has been incredibly poor since being appointed. Today was good and if it carries on then brilliant, but we need consistency and we’ve been here before. Always expected us to win today, we always do in these types of games.

I really like him, sadly he isn't ours or likely to be. I wonder how different the season would be (on and off the pitch) if we had him available for all matches since January?

    Seems to want to stay

It’s a sell out. We have have had a number of sell outs this season. West Ham, Forest, Leeds and now Leicester are the games I can recall. I am wondering when we had more home sell outs in a season.

Tinnion loves to talk about our sell outs as though our crowds are enjoying the football more under Manning. What he fails to realise is fans want to see ex PL clubs!
