To save anyone else of having to go to the link and feeling dirty.....

Following the departure of Darrell Clarke, the Board and the owners are conscious that there has been considerable speculation regarding our future plans for the Club.

In order to provide clarity to supporters, the Board and the owners would like to confirm that our aspirations and intentions for a positive future for the Club remain unchanged. Hard work continues behind the scenes. Whilst it is not possible to share all details due to confidentiality arrangements, we wish to put on record our extreme disappointment that another development site that the Club have been pursuing is no longer under consideration. Many months of effort, and not inconsiderable cost, have been put into this possibility of a new stadium and training ground development but we have now been left with no option but to explore and identify alternative solutions.

The Board and the owners want the very best for Bristol Rovers FC. Supporters will of course be informed as soon there are important developments to share. In the meantime, we send our very best wishes to you for a happy and peaceful holiday season.

So it has obviously gone through the "politician" filter, lots of words but no real substance.
One question though, mentions training ground. They have land , didn't they having planning/building permission ? What happened to that then?

    probably reposessed

I personally can't see SC going there long term. Maybe on a rest of season contract similar to his Notts County deal. He will keep them up, I have no doubs about that, but demand a hefty pay and or bonus for doing so.

I guess Rovers fans will finally see the ambition of their owner now, or not, on whom they appoint....waddock,  and it's heading back towards non league!!

I could see that happening and them failing to cough up at the end of the season

The CEO said he can't imagine appointing anyone before Christmas, doesn't sound nailed on SC then, or like they had a plan...

that's stating the obvious. 'these things take time'

on a side note, harry rednapps turned them down as they couldn't match his 7 jam rolypolys a week pay demands.they showed him the door when he asked for custard win bonuses

Yes the figures were available via turn stiles and yes you are not far wrong, on some quieter games at city and rovers we might do something like that!! Loser gets the coffees in !!

youd be nuts drinking anything up there Julie. god only knows where they have tapped into for water up there, probably a nice easy plastic pipe behind the portaloos

It’s as though they forget just what an embarrassment the Mem is.

Do you remember our manager a few years ago claiming that we had a couple of potential signings (pre rebuild) who took a look around and chose to go elsewhere because Ashton Gate wasn’t up to scratch...?

Can you imagine the reaction when players who might be viewing the Mem for the first time must have....?!

“Here is the new “Stand” next week we might move it over to that space there, next to Santa’s grotto.

I hope you’ve noticed how clean the curtains are..? Now, let me show you the canopy over the directors entrance, then we’ll put our championship ready sprinklers on to show you, then we can go inside to sort out the contract formalities while we knock one out to babestation”

knock one out to babestation and share a pack of manky crisps

They've even installed a posh tent over the portaloos in the away end. Not to mention that executive disabled stand. Will improvements never end! ?

Ah yes, the old Rovers Special - but would they really be able to fill such a behemoth again?

this might be closer to the truth than we know.  if this Ed Ware bloke is going to join in the party, are they going to get some new fancy gates and rename the mem WALLYWARE'LD?

Bradford away? Massive game between 2 sleeping giants ?

didn't Bradford get in first division once?  if so I don't think its fair to liken them to that dog turd team,in fact, its not fair to liken any team in England to them regardless of what league they are in

They only had 4 Turnstile open on the West Enclosure side and a queue was forming, but there is a steward on the gate who always takes the initiative and starts checking tickets and letting people in through the gate. Top man. Saving me from an even worse soaking.

No wonder the announced gate wasn’t that great yesterday  if a steward was letting people through a gate, I think there’s counters on each turnstile which when are all totalled up gives you the attendance figure

if he was checking tickets, would they not already be paid for??
