Reid at Man City was probs the best I’ve ever felt as a City fan. I couldn’t believe we were beating the best in England 1-0. Tomlin at Fulham. Agard to make it 2-1 at West Brom in the FA cup was class, some of the best limbs I’ve been a part of that day. McCombe away at Doncaster was great. & Chris Wood penalty away at Forest. Only had about 200 of us there, under the cosh most of the game, Carey & Gerken heroics saving us & somehow came away with a win.

I don't think he's awful. Seems to play far worse away from home. Trouble is when he makes a mistake it's often a costly one. As a few have mentioned, he's probably a squad player for a lower end champ side, not one that should be starting every week. I don't think we'll see him for a while anyway after NP comments yesterday, perhaps for the best because the fans are really starting to get on his back like they did with Fontaine back in the day.

Even prior to the last 2-0/3-1 victory or whatever it was, I doubt we've had many in the last 3 odd years. I remember noticing it before. We must be the least likely team to ever get a battering from. Just had a look & not sure how this will stack up to the rest of the division but times we've won by 2 or more. 18/19 - 4 - QPR, Blackburn, Stoke, Swansea 19/20 - 6 - QPR, Hull, Huddersfield, Luton, Wigan, Boro 20/21 - 7 - Stoke, Sheff W, Preston, Millwall, Boro, Swansea, Birmingham 21/22 - 0

Yep definitely have missed that. He cleared one away from a corner with his head in the semi final & I was thinking we’ve missed that a lot this year. Was very good at it.

Yeah wasn't great at pressing, but think a lot of that was down to mobility. Still feel like he often put his all in. Agree to disagree I suppose.

I think we should stop mucking about with playing players out of their best positions unless we absolutely have to, even then it should only be those that wouldn't normally play that come in. Kalas is one of our better CB's. Leave him there.

I think it's because aside from the last few months of his career here, he was a 100%er. Might not have had the best touch, or have been the quickest player, but very often left everything out there. Didn't he win POTS the summer before? Had we gone down last season, I don't think he'd be getting the same respect but we didn't. His goals in games last season actually won us quite a few points. Late ones against Wycombe, Derby and Blackburn certainly getting us 9 points. Half the team those final few months didn't seem like they were trying & with their contracts running out it didn't surprise me much.

Haha yeah I just meant somehow getting through a tournament whilst looking very poor attacking wise. Shows all styles have their place still. IIRC the Portuguese finished 3rd in their group & only won one game in normal time. Fair play to Senegal. Really happy for big Fam.

well yeah because it’s like playing with 10 men. We played better stuff when he wasn’t in the side.

We'll get less money for Bentley if he's out of the team than we will if he is in it. A squad player will go for less than a starting one no? Doesn't make sense for him to be out of the squad due to a possible transfer situation, especially with a keeper - a position where you rarely see injuries. Bentley is better than Max. We should play our best players in every game until we are mathematically safe.

23 shots on target since Max has been in goal, we've conceded 14 of them.

16 goals conceded in 5 games so far for Max this season. Still 15 mins to play here as well.

Was going to mention how good Bentley was distribution wise when at Brentford but @Davefevs beat me to it. I’m sure he can play that way if instructed. A lot of people conveniently forgetting us playing out also coincided with Martin being out of the side. Not so easy to just go long and hope to win the header then, sort of forces you to play a different way. Bentley should play in goal.

Bentley. Feels like we regularly concede 2 a game whenever Max plays. Bentley is one of the best in the division, it’s crazy that he isn’t playing.

Maguire is good for England. Not bothered about a few players club form when they consistently do it for England. For years we had players at club level struggle for the international side. A lot of people didn’t want Sterling or Pickford anywhere near the side last summer. Two of our better players! That said, Webster should be given a chance, I think he’d be perfect for Southgate in a back 3.

Other than 18/19 which seems to be the odd season out statistic wise (even that’s not great) he’s been pretty poor let’s be honest. Could probably sign two players with his wages in the summer & they’ll be equally as effective if given the same minutes.
