  1. You can turn signatures off in settings so you don't have to see them at all. For me, there are some of these that seem strange that someone would have a problem with i.e. The Gate. What's wrong with that?!? And other things that are simply common phrases like "early doors" etc are pretty harmless. But what astonishes me more is the lack of annoyance with the improper use of the word "of", as in "could of", "should of", "would of" etc......
  2. Williams being rested surely depends on how bad Scott's back is. Haven't spotted an update on his injury yet....
  3. Oh shite....they're taking the piss guys....I never would have contributed to the thread had I known Magger1 was going to get all butt-hurt over it.... I would like to apologise for...well.....everything...
  4. Criticising officials and blaming them are two different things though. The standard has been consistently poor in all 4 games this season. Could things have turned out differently in each match. Sure they could. The fact is that we have conceded in periods of the matches where we're playing poorly and defending for our lives and in that respect we are our own worst enemy irrespective of the officials. But any of the big calls given correctly will have changed the face of the game and given us a boost. The second pen shout - if that was outside the area then that's a free kick being given all day long. The red would have given them a lot more to do. Did we lose because of the officials? No. Could they have helped us win the match by doing their job properly? Absolutely. There has to be accountability on all sides.
  5. Bloody hell, the standard of spelling on this forum is shockingly bad.... It's "Da faymuss kwawturrzzzz". Your effort is absolutely nothing to be prowed of!!!
  6. The trouble with Zak is that he always seems to have a costly mistake in him. Unfortunately, in my opinion, you can't rely on him. That said I thought he had a very good game on Wednesday, so credit where it's due.
  7. One goal. One. Your obsession with that one comment clearly blinds you to anything else and I have neither the time, the patience or the crayons to make my view any clearer to you, so I'll give up.
  8. I'm really not talking about one mistake. I provided an example where it directly cost us and also stated that it seems to be a recurring theme. And just to be clear, it wasn't a mistake against Derby - it was negligence! At other times it tends to happen after conceding possession further up the pitch, but by just sitting/standing motionless with his arms up in the air he is taking himself out of the play instead of regrouping to try and put the opposition under pressure after losing possession. This continually happening, regardless of whether it's leading up to a goal or not, is why I wouldn't have him as captain. That and the fact that like others I prefer a captain to be either in defence or midfield. No, to compare the gaffs with Andi's shortcomings is irrelevant. Mistakes don't make a bad captain, just as being an excellent player like Andi doesn't mean you'll be a good one. Kalas is a full international who has represented his country in World Cups and European Championships, but he was a dreadful captain!
  9. I call bullshit on this comment.... we all know that the Scots don't give away deep fried food to anybody!!!!
  10. Not while play goes on and literally past him!
  11. Have to disagree with anyone saying Andi Weimann should be captain as he leads by example. I love the blokes energy, work-rate and recent prowess in front of goal. But a massive bug-bear for me with him is that he doesn't play to the whistle. Ever. He'll be remonstrating with the referee while someone walks past him with the ball with no reaction. He was directly at fault for at least one goal at the Gate last year (I think against Derby) where he just had his arms in the air appealing for handball just outside our area rather than closing down the opponent who was 5 yards in front of him. The pass was made, unchallenged and they scored. Was at it again on Saturday and at Hull. It's his one blot on his copybook but an important one when considering him for captain.
  12. Even mystery tours have some sort of hygiene standards!!!
  13. That's alright. They've just gotta perform a Rovers special and pop the sprinklers on for a few days! ?
  14. Unplayable, you say? Mr Cooper would like a word with you!
  15. Not as many as good ones do...if they did they may be more than average footballers........ ?
  16. Think you're sounding irrationally impatient with this discussion, GioK... you need to have more patience, it's only about 4 threads so far this week that this debate has spilled onto....people can't expect to read every thread.... hell....some people can't string coherent sentences together, so expecting them to read the 58000 posts or so in the last 6 months about this is a little far fetched!
  17. And before anyone chimes in with "yeah, but the singers were only in the one corner...." Yes, we were, but it was by choice and nothing to do with unreserved seating, because there wasn't any. It wasn't a move by the club, it just so happened that we congregated in H-Block, bought our seats there and made it our own.
  18. All perfectly legal no matter who set them off. The law explicitly specifies football stadiums as far as I'm aware, so what happens at cricket or rugby bears no relevance.
  19. Funnily enough the ha ha emoji which has had a whooosh moment was actually in response to "I'm guessing I will get a massive whoosh here - but what relevance is Gilbert to the link that is being made?"!!! I'm trying to work out if that is proper irony, or the Alanis Morisette kind! I actually thought you were being funny and other people were going to miss the joke! ?
  20. Well....no....we don't need one but some of the threads that go off on a tangent on here and get left open..... The potential for this to diverge into a lighthearted discussion about other potentially dodgy naming rights etc wouldn't make it worse than any of those......Though the cliched Bell End one hasn't been humorous for year, I guess.
  21. I'm confused....why would it be closed down? And just because it happened on our doorstep really doesn't mean that people in Southend couldn't make the link! They are two of the most famous serial killers this country has ever had!
  22. As well as the loo rolls did you also nick the toilet seats so the police would have nothing to go on......??
  23. It's really not hard to understand is it? It's nothing to do with the FA or EFL....and comparisons to Germany etc are irrelevant. The use of any type of pyro at football grounds is against the law set in this country. "Being in possession of a pyrotechnic device at a football match, or attempting to bring a pyrotechnic device into a football stadium, is a criminal offence under the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985." With unrest creeping back into stands towards the end of last season it's hardly any surprise that a clampdown of this is being carried out. If City are seen to turn a blind eye to it, then they're condoning criminal activity, so of course they need to clamp down. After all the noise about this over the last few years I am staggered that people still have an issue understanding this! It's either ignorance or blind stupidity, surely?
