  1. From my position in S20 it looked clear cut that it was a handball.Assuming the ball was partially on the line, though I've not seen a photo with a conclusive angle as yet, what makes this in the area as opposed to outside? Goal line technology dictates the ball isn't IN the goal unless it is fully over. Therefore isn't the same logic then that the ball isn't IN the area unless it's fully over. Especially so when considering the direction of travel of the Ball. It was heading into the area rather than outside. On a similar note, if the goalkeepers hands were outside the area when they caught the ball does that change the situation? It's not a situation that crops up often, but either way, for once the finger of blame cannot be aimed at the linesman as the referee probably had the better view.
  2. Club have also warned that with the carriageway down to one lane that the buses they lay on can't be guaranteed to get to the ground in time for kick-off.... Add to that QPR fans who are also now having to drive with the trains off. It's like a perfect storm. Home match, roadworks and rail strike. I've already changed my plans and will now be dropped to the match rather drive. Parking will be an even bigger nightmare.
  3. We really should be generating a lot more renewable energy than the likes of Germany or Poland given that they have one coastline and we're a bloody island. Offshore wind should be used on all sides of the UK - it's a no-brainer. But we won't get there with this mob in power... And while idiots keep voting them in we'll be waiting for a long time yet. As has always been the case the biggest threat to humanity is humanity itself.
  4. It seems that this is what is being considered. You would imagine the attendance hit would eat into some of the savings. Kids would miss out on home matches due to school and anyone who can't get time off will be missing as well. I'd imagine it would have an impact on season ticket sales.
  5. I'd imagine it doesn't cost much for him, but then this is the standard of floodlight they have, not to mention solar panels which will take some of the cost down. Clubs with grounds more suited to league football I'm sure would cost an awful lot more.
  6. This could be the right move for Rosenior if he wants it. Won 7 out of 12 and still didn't get given the Derby job. That's a cracking record for a club that was in free-fall. Less pressure to succeed and if they do go down but if they then keep him it gives him a good opportunity to get a promotion on his CV. They've a division 2.5 club for a number of years now. Not quite good enough for the Championship but too good for league one. A lot will depend on where Rotherham see themselves in the footballing pyramid.
  7. Unlikely. The CSL has gone through a massive financial crisis - the big money isn't there in that league anymore. Reminiscent of here, but the other way, when LJ was having his first poor spell and it was Pembo who got the boot instead. Though in fairness for a while that worked...before tanking massively.
  8. It's not often posters deserve their own song, but as he calls himself Logical City and his entire approach was anything but Logical, well it had to be done.... A little work to get some lines to scan, but I was bored, so have an earworm....and my apologies for the 30 seconds of your life you're not getting back! When Brum tix went on sale I thought it was wonderful I'll buy me one, oh, I'll wait a bit, not just yet And all the fans on the net, well they'd be buying so happily Oh wait for me, I won't buy one yet, can't you see? But then they all sold out quick, it seemed I wasn't so sensible Logical, oh, responsible, practical So I went on One Team and moaned about how they all sold out I blew my chance, oh everything I moaned about......
  9. Sacked? If we have taken anyone on board who would even suggest it then I'll be pushing for the club to be disbanded due to poor judgement!
  10. I may well have missed this, but have they been announced as yet? Usually it includes cashback on purchasers by way of points to spend in the store etc, but I've not seen anything yet. The shop were saying at the start of the season that money will go on if that's what's announced, and will backdate.... Am I just being blind or is this yet to be announced still?
  11. Some of the commentary was great in the first few minutes. "He's their dangerman - he's 6ft 1 and 13st. And Young is Manchester Citys biggest player at over 6ft...."(words to that effect), followed by "And all the Manchester City forwards have their shirts outside their pants"! Will watch the full video later, so thanks for sharing Slart
  12. But surely the popular fixtures are the ones that those that go to many away games deserve the opportunity to get tickets for? This isn't the 90's anymore . Most things are done online now and most people know someone that could help them out. I'm still unsure what your argument is? I went to 2 away games last season and the Cov game this. I don't think I would get any priority with a record like that, but was able to book up easily. You're swapping those that can only get them online with those that can get to the ground on a working day...? You're on here, so you're clearly not one of the IT illiterate you refer to, so I'm confused as to why you have an issue? With the greatest of respect, Logical, your argument is illogical.
  13. What on earth are you talking about? Referees have been very consistent in not awarding us a penalty!
  14. Disappointing lack of bins contained in that collection there....
  15. I think a big difference this season is that for the first time in ages we get to the latter stages of the game trailing but I don't think anyone is thinking "well this is over". I don't think it's self congratulatory to say how well we played. This was a team that came down from the Prem last year with the budgets that come with that and we dominated them for a large majority of the match. That shows how much this side has progressed. Being pleased with the performance in spite of the loss is just an acknowledgement of what we're coming out of. We played well and if not for the defensive frailties could've put the pre-season title favourites to the sword on their own patch. Reasons to be cheerful aplenty right now.
  16. You see I saw that as six of one and half a dozen of the other. Wells seemed to me to be grappled by their player and then he put his arms out himself and caught the guy. I can only assume that's how it looked to the referee as well. Hats off to Williams though. Really switched on to the opportunity.
  17. As others have said, there's a real lack of options at the moment here. His little brain farts are proving very costly, though. Why Semenyo and Conway and not Semenyo and Wells? That's the conundrum. To fit AS into the starting line up you need to break up a partnership that is reaping rewards left right and centre. Which one could/would you drop and why? It needs to be noted that it's actually only over the last 9 months. Up until Christmas 2021 he was nothing more than an intriguing prospect. And then it clicked for him. I personally think Scott's value is far in excess of Semenyo's.
  18. If it was the same David Webb then we can forgive him for not having the most mobile of matches tonight at the tender age of 76!
  19. Interesting that home grown is English only, not UK. That bloody foreigner, Naismith!
  20. Antoine's little bro playing. Does he look like he could be one we let get away, or not really up to the standard?
  21. You mean like the 18 year olds flipping burgers at the football this weekend....? Yeah, but do you not remember the meltdown on Twitter when the games weren't postponed? It was crazy.....!
  22. Nope it was a group of about 200 latecomers who basically got into the Atyeo and made a beeline for the Dolman. I remember it well as it was the first match my lad went to that had any sort of trouble. Poor little sod was really nervous about it all. It may have been the 19/20 season thinking about it, but certainly they were let out at the end after trouble as I had to calm his nerves down.
