  1. I'm unsure of the rules around this. Would EPPP count if he didn't come through their academy? He signed from WBA and essentially went straight into the team at FGR. I can't seem to find anything concrete about young players who have not gone through the academy system about how compensation is arrived at. Of course, with lots of reports that it's a free transfer I guess it's possible that FGR have waived an up front fee in favour of a sell on clause.
  2. Am I having a whoosh moment here...?
  3. No, I'm undecided...this is City, so I wouldn't rule anything in or out. Bristol Sport has a massive partnership with Huboo now that anything is possible. 1 shirt out of a potential 9 or 10 across the group where the logo isn't as predominant could be quite feasible. Well.....If it's only blue quarters then that makes it a fully blue shirt.......harking back to our FA Cup glory days... Blue and white quarters becomes a different issue! ?
  4. A long sleeve version could swing a lot of people to be honest. I'd love to see it, but don't expect one to be released. What I did find strange was how they went with short sleeves only for the adult keeper and long sleeves only for Junior Reds,
  5. I'm half-expecting blackout to be the away kit I think. Not sure how that would sit with the sponsors. If Huboo is in black they'll be barely visible, but if it still appears in white, then it'll look like we're just wearing Huboo tee-shirts!
  6. I noticed that too. I have genuinely been thinking about this over the last few weeks with a view to seeing if I can come up with some sort of proposal to the club for this. My thoughts though were to have it branded as the Banks Junior Reds, or something of that ilk. John and Claire made a real impact on many young fans, myself included, with the original Junior Reds and for me needs to be remembered by the club in some way if they do indeed relaunch it, especially with John's passing. If not in the name of the supporters group then certainly in the name of whatever space may be provided for them to meet in.
  7. I honestly never heard anything about him. I stand corrected in his case then. Certainly nothing around where I sat, and I think he just about pre-dates the forum.
  8. This seems to be especially true of City fans. The likes of Nugent and Torpey and even (controversial I know) Marv etc were never the most gifted of players, but rarely were criticised because the effort they put in when selected endeared them to us.
  9. I guess the thing to remember about Nagy and Aubameyang is that the players wanted to leave, rather than the club wanting to get rid. With AN we facilitated it because he was respectful to the club with how he went about it. He wasn't looking to move for financial reasons and we weren't actively trying to move him on. It was purely family reasons. Aubameyang wanted to go and so he was the one that would have had to make concessions to make that happen, not Arsenal. In the case of KP, to the best of our knowledge he hasn't asked to leave (and why would he - it would affect him financially) but it's us that want to get rid, so we'd likely have to bend a little more than we'd want to in order to get at least a large portion of his wages off the books. But I've heard his wife does........Maybe this is the issue. Signing Kasey Palmer is like making love to a beautiful woman. At the time it's wonderful and full of excitement, but ultimately it doesn't last long.
  10. I think they should be looking at any relocated Wimbledon fans who may be pining for Plough Lane...
  11. Football nowadays is attractoring the wrong type of fan.....?
  12. Have just had a look at their prices. Season tickets starting from £352! A tenner less than our starting point in infinitely better facilities at a higher level! Bonkers. Absolutely bonkers!
  13. Cue Rovers telling everyone that they're the European champions' favourite club. Sporting da faymuss quarterrrrz!
  14. The one positive that may come from Qatar that. January transfer windows are notoriously hard to buy in, but can be a gold mine for selling players when compared to the summer window. A good showing in the World Cup with the January window appearing right on its heels could be the perfect storm for us in terms of maximising the selling price if we were to sell.
  15. Not only would it have been more, but we almost certainly would've taken the title off the Fewers as well. Managed to get my name in Match Magazine at the time for requesting a Super Bob poster! They were only down there for a season! That's nowhere near long enough!
  16. From what I can see he's not in a coma. Came out of that in January, but is still in hospital. His daughter said on Twitter that they're looking forward to the game and that her dad will be made up by the gesture. News about the seriousness of his injuries is scarce though.
  17. He didn't receive any payback, The one you're thinking of was a Villa hooligan slashing the face of another from the same group who was trying to stand up for a coach driver. This was a month before the image went viral claiming to be the Birmingham fan, but it wasn't. There was definitely a resemblance between the two though, so I understand why it went viral. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/8634492/football-fan-sliced-face-aston-villa/ (Clean your browser after following the link!)
  18. I was just thinking we may see a return of fences if this keeps happening. All seater stadia means that there's no risk of a Hillsborough repeat.
  19. And again a pitch invasion ends with players getting attacked! Ffs. Idiots.
  20. I genuinely can't decide watching that several times if he a) stamped on him or b) even attempted it. He comes into frame just as he looks down and then looked like he was trying to avoid it. If his foot is coming down and then he looks down and sees the kid on the floor then there's very little time to process what's happening and avoid it. Not seeing the few seconds before I don't think anyone can really tell whether a stamp or any intention to stamp happened. He's not helped himself with his previous conduct, which is why, understandably, people are reaching their own conclusions. Someone has slowed the video down in the replies, which makes it look less like an intentional stamp. But again you can't see what has happened for McBurnie to be making that forward motion. If it was intentional, and I guess it would need additional footage to corroborate, then he needs to be punished severely.
  21. I know our police don't have the greatest reputation in the world, but a quick investigation into the bloke would uncover this in about 3 seconds!
  22. Hopefully not too happy.....I'm sure they are laws against that on a public beach! On a serious note though (and this isn't aimed at you, Phil), the notion that being homosexual means that you're some sort of nymphomaniac trying to get your kicks from everyone of the same sex is frankly laughable. As is the idea that any serious discussion could be had with the question "How would you feel if a player announced he was a paedophile?". What sort of ******* answers are you expecting?!? "Yeah, I'd be fine with that.....only if they're fit though" ffs! And people wonder why there's still such a stigma in the game about being gay!
  23. Don't be so bloody ridiculous man. x, y and z....hell...even n are all far too far into the alphabet for them to know what they are.
  24. James has 2 years left on his contract. He does unfortunately seem to have a touch of the Brunts about him since coming back from injury. Thought he looked good earlier in the season, but largely ineffective since his return from the sidelines.
  25. Gazza gets a bizarre raw deal from our fan base....particularly S82, who can frequently be heard singing "We all hate Gascoigne" every match..... never understood why the hatred....... ?
