I only wish that the internet had been invented and available in 1977 because I'd have loved to have read through their forum on the morning after the Coventry 2 v City 2 match which ensured that we avoided relegation from the old Division One. They must have been gutted!

Remember the Jimmy Hill/John Sillett/Alan Dicks  conspiracy theory?

Jimmy Hill was a gurt 'ted mind!

Then we let them have Gary Collier on the cheap as pay off

    Yes.

20 years at one point from the 60s through to the early 80s and obviously the 22 years we were in the football league before their circus arrived.

they got promoted to the 2nd division in 1974 two years before we hit the big time, they must have gone above us at least once in two seasons

Oh I've done all that and more mate...they are seriously deluded about their support, both home and away. They seriously think they have more loyal fans than us....despite the fact we average more at home and away than them , every season...

and of course, the killer question, How many for the final ever match at Eastville

When the gasheads I know start saying they get better away followings than us I just cut them off with "we took 18k to our last home game...how many did you manage?" They've got a great range of blank and baffled looks as they try to compute that one...

tell them 5k to WBA, 5k to MK DONS, our 8k to Anfield compared to their 5k, and what about 15k to Coventry ?

I'm actually starting to feel a bit sorry for the disabled R*vers fans

Don't want to be a kill joy, but I do feel sorry for disabled fans of Rovers, but respect them for trying to do something to help the situation. It does however, show what a really parlous financial state that club is in,  if the DSA have to resort to building this.

have to agree on this. it really is a non-league set-up

Indeed especially being a wooden structure.

it looks very much like a £89 flat packed garden gazebo available from most B & Q's or the like.

Actually available online for about £1,500 (5% of a Tillson)

edit, that's the deluxe model, the Mem version is about £750 (2.5% of a Tillson)
