  1. If you thought the moaning on here was bad, take a look at his Twitter timeline.
  2. Ok, if we stay like this we’ve both got a good chance of not falling over before the end of training.
  3. True, we only have to look to the other side of the city. Hopefully lessons have been learnt in how these people are scrutinised
  4. I wasn’t suggesting NO foreigners, just not bad ones who didn’t understand the game, like the Cardiff owners who at the time didn’t get English football and were tearing Cardiff City to pieces and ruining the club. TBF they seemed to listen and understand more as they went on. But I think we’d all be very happy with owners like Leicester who invested not only in the club but in the community too.
  5. Soon after Vincent Tan took over Cardiff and he was trying to turn the stadium and shirts red and their fans were getting upset, I asked Steve Lansdown if he could promise he wouldn’t ever Bristol City to foreign investors like that. He then told a story of a recent game at Cardiff and how the atmosphere had changed and wasn’t a pleasant experience since the takeover. My eyes lit up. Then he said no, he couldn’t promise he wouldn’t sell to similar but would rather not. Which didn’t fill me full of confidence.
  6. Yes I must admit I do try and catch the first one after a game. I wonder down near an exit in the final minute and exit as soon as the whistle blows. A brisk walk and I nearly always catch the first bus and am in my car before 5.30. Oddly, at the last game the driver was opposite the stop where you get dropped off, a 100 metres or so before the Robins, not sure if she’d made a mistake but it made it easier. Though it confused one chap who got off in Shirehampton cursing and swearing because he thought he’d got on the bus to the centre.
  7. That is not a game I’d want at the moment. On an a hiding to nothing with the way we’re playing, no thanks.
  8. @Never to the dark side is the man to answer this question. If he doesn’t know he’ll ask at the next Sky AGM
  9. I use the Portway Park and Ride, must say I can’t fault it. Very easy and reliable. I’m usually on the M5 south by 5.30 ish.
  10. I can remember doing this as a young’un and moving the Bristol City tab around the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd in the top division. With Tottenham ending up relegated in bottom place. Not exactly breaking news or that interesting but it’s made me feel really good just writing it.
  11. Sadly this is the way it always is, the story has to have fame or glamour attached or they won’t bother making it. And the truth is the project would be a hard sell and far fewer viewers without Savage.
  12. On the football front I think it could really suit England, despite some of the posts on here suggesting otherwise the weather for playing will be fine, nowhere near the temperatures or humidity of some previous world cups, even France 98 was hotter in many games. Plus for the first time ever our players won’t be going into the tournament at the end of a gruelling premier League season, which if you ask ex players was one of the main reasons for falling around the quarter final stage a few times. I love the idea of escaping our crappy winter to go to a World Cup but not sure about everything that goes with it on this occasion
  13. I'm very happy to award him 10 but thought someone would pipe up that a 10 should only be given for perfection. What if he'd done even better at the end and Jo Jordan hadn't been able to take over because Terry couldn't stop winning?
  14. I’ll mark Terry Cooper for you, 9/10 . Manager, player, director, ticket seller, groundsman, top bloke, legend.
  15. I feel for a few of our younger players at the moment, it can’t be easy playing in the current side, especially the last few games. I know you could probably say it about most players but I’d love to see him play in a good well organised team, I’m sure we’d see him flourish and improve.
  16. Living an hour and a half away from Bristol nowadays I quite like the traditional Saturday 3pm kick off. Friday evenings do have a special atmosphere, start of the weekend and all that but we have a huge number of fans from outside Bristol that might struggle if it was a a regular thing. Early Saturday starts always seem to lack atmosphere and in turn that can mean a dull game, I suppose 2 pm would be ok but not any earlier.
  17. TBF she wasn’t wearing a scarf and was right up for a scrap if I remember rightly. And we lost 1-0, so…..
  18. Yes, Torquay for some years played on Saturday evenings, especially at the start and end of the season which coincided with the holiday season and busy turnover Saturday afternoons. We had a famous Saturday evening game there, c1983. Boats being pinched in the harbour, police vans being turned over and all sorts.
  19. The danger of putting Tins in charge for let’s say 3 months is he starts winning regularly. I know that sounds daft but then what? You’d have the whole crowd wanting him to stay and then we all know what happens next, like Millen or Oli at Man Utd, it goes tits up, it nearly always does. I know we could have this scenario with anyone but I wouldn’t want Tins to end his time with City like that again……….the 3 months of winning games would be quite welcome though…..
  20. Nige, hope you’re feeling better soon. Cheers, Ralph
  21. When I saw the surname I couldn’t believe what his first name was when I looked it up. Class.
  22. In other unrelated news concerning previous managers, great to see Cotts interviewed just now on ITV 4 before their match with Stratford. Crikey he went through it and still suffers fatigue, was in bed at 8.30 pm. yesterday so he would have energy for today.
  23. I always think in these circumstances, if I was the owner I’d be speaking to the players in confidence and asking them why they’re underperforming. Maybe take someone in with you who can get into their heads to see what’s bothering them.
  24. The social media team make cringey mistakes but I don’t think the behind the scenes training stuff is one of them. I don’t think I’m alone in quite enjoying that.
