  1. I do like some old grounds, I found the old Rotherham a bit like visiting a museum in an interesting way. Also liked the old Brentford.

However, recentish visits to Villa park, the away end at Elland rd and Fratton park had me thinking they were all close to being unfit for purpose. Horrible experience.

What a great story, we loved our time over there, truly a memorable experience

If your ever there the Indian was called L'Agra and was actually in blagnac close to the airport, another has since opened in Cornebarrieu, next to an expat bar that serves thatchers gold! Called Rajpoot, both worth a go!

It’s great how an influx of English has improved the Indian food around Blagnac.

I had an evening there fairly recently, early flight, and saw there was 3 nearby, the two you mentioned and one called Layaja which was in Cornebarrieu and the pub was called The Temple Meads. Sadly we had eaten a big lunch so didn’t try any.

I did go to one of them when I was living in Carcassonne, a little excursion after a trip to IKEA. Very good from memory and I’d forgotten about it until now.

The advert claimed that it’s perfectly legal…………:dunno:

My reply was a bit tongue in cheek but I think everything is legal until you access subscription channels without a subscription, then as you say that’s too good to be true.

From what I can gather it’s only those supplying that have been prosecuted.

I’m sure others will be more informed than me.

The advert claims that it’s simply plugs into your tv and it gives access to all subscriptions including Sky Sports free of charge. As I said it seems too good to true and that’s why I’ve asked on here if anyone has any experience of using one.

Lots of posters know far more about the internet and tv technology than I do.

Just make sure you’ve blocked everyone on this forum that work for the police when you come back to tell us you’ve bought one 😳

Battle of the England spinners as Dom Bess and Jack Leach play in the 2nd XI match between Yorkshire and Somerset.

Michael Vaughan's son Archie is playing for Somerset. Meanwhile Flintoff's sons Rocky and Corey are playing for Lancs 2nds today.

    I hadn’t realised both Flintoff’s sons played.

Genuine question, should teams be allowed to shake hands for the draw when Somerset and Surrey did? Chance of a result was much higher then the start of Surrey’s innings, should the umpire have the power to say it’s still light and we can see the game out?

Over the years there have been games that I’ve been surprised at when they’ve shaken hands.

Nowadays especially since T20 things can turn so quickly with someone hitting 20 off an over or 3 wickets falling in an over.

Out of curiosity, did you ever try any Indian restaurants whilst you were living in France?

I have tried quite a few, most of which were embarrassingly poor, but I have also found two, perhaps three at a pinch, that have been surprisingly good - all in Paris/Île de France.

Yes we had one in Carcassonne that was ran by a couple from India. When we got to know them we explained that we liked our curries with a bit more spice than the a French and they would prepare meals especially for our taste.

They soon realised that most Brits liked it that way and would then offer any Brits eating there the spicier menu. Our French friends could barely handle a Korma.

Also had a very good one in Marseille once but besides that very hard to find decent ones.

  8. Kasey Aldridge is my new favourite Somerset player. I loved the look of his batting last year with his ever improving bowling he COULD make a genuine very good all rounder.

Of course we’ve seen many promise so much only to falter, Banton the latest, but atm I love the look of him

Found it an odd vibe in there personally, went in just before Christmas. Food was nice enough, but every waiter/waitress acted like we were bothering them whenever we asked to order more drinks/sides.

Am going to Rassay myself on Friday!

Everyone was fine on Saturday, though we weren’t long in there as I had a train to catch. These things can happen though.

Enjoy Rassay, if you come back with a glowing review I might have to make a summer trip up at some point.

  10. Had a post match curry in Raj - Kings St on Saturday. Haven’t been for years and although it’s one of the old school Indian restaurants I really enjoyed it, some lovely flavours.

I’m looking forward to trying Rassay but might have to wait until next season. I’m off to Little French next month for my birthday, so looking forward to that.

  11. Decent effort from Somerset today, could have easily folded early doors and lost that. Be good to get Abell and Umeed back and hopefully the bowlers get into more of a rhythm. Looking forward to the first day at Taunton on Friday.

Sad to see the passing of Deadly Derek Underwood. He was a huge presence in cricket when I started watching, very deadly on the uncovered wickets we had in those days

Bank holiday on the sea front used to be carnage

There is a YouTube video of footage back then, typically I can't find it to link

The Mods versus Rockers seaside battles were a bank holiday thing across the country at most big seaside resorts. Some huge battles went on but it was always just old fashioned fighting, no knives or stuff like that

  13. Some great footage there, I first started visiting Bristol 2 or 3 years after that aged 12/13 just as we got to the top flight.

As an outsider, from West Somerset, I soon fell in love with the city and that love for the place remains as strong today as it had throughout, including all the years I lived there. I’m definitely an honorary Bristolian.

My memories of Weston back then were almost entirely from visits to Clarence Park to watch Somerset CCC. Very happy memories. I absolutely loved watching cricket there, you were really rubbing shoulders with some of the worlds best players on a small park that wasn’t even a cricket ground. Really sad when it stopped.

  14. I moved second half to that side of the Dolman so had a great view. It was definitely one of those that sometimes get given (today) sometimes don’t (us for about 3 years)

Overall I thought the ref was pretty good today, seemed to have just the right amount of chat with the players and a sense of humour.

Oh and she seems to have upset Joey Barton who’s making judgement on a persons whole career on one decision on one camera angle, so that’s good.

  15. With a couple overs to go a very Somerset type of day at the Oval.

I really like the look of this years batting line up, even better when Abell returns. But even with all those capable batters in the team I’m still always waiting for a collapse followed by a bit of a tail wag.

Plus whenever we get the opposition in late in the day we never seem to profit from that awkward pre close session. Hoping Bash takes a hat trick now to prove me wrong.

  16. Not recently but I’ve done exactly the same before and was surprised when I couldn’t pick it up on the Saturday having ordered in the previous week.

Not wanting to derail the thread but I thought the ‘74 anniversary shirts would be ready for collection now, anyone know?
