I think Cook’s last sentence is correct, he’s got more shots than people realise. I think he’s been managed brilliantly by Somerset so far, just concentrating on red ball and getting the basics right. The fancy stuff can and will follow.
I’ve seen plenty of unorthodox shots from him and he’s rarely a slow batter. He’s no Tom Banton but he will certainly have enough shots to get into the Bazball test team because he’s such a classy batsman.
Good question, it’d be nice to know how many enter and who the winners are, maybe this is done I don’t know.
Anyway, after last season’s debacle I’m thinking of spending all my points on draws this season. Probably slim chance of winning but at least there’s some good prizes.
From where? I traveled back from watching the Friday’s test yesterday from London but the last train back was 13.00.
You do know it’s a day nighter, so I’m thinking unlikely.
Yes I’ve heard that said a number of times. We’ll have to wait to find out and it would be great to have another Kiesy v Buttler situation but I think we should wait and see first.
Its not unheard of for a top sportsman to say he has a more talented sibling that hasn’t made it for whatever reason.
I’m just waiting for the next Hundred withdrawal and Rew to get called up. I know he’s not the biggest hitter out there but there’s nobody in better form and he’s certainly no slouch.
Rew to the rescue, he’s Somerset’s equivalent of Alex Scott.
Rew is a few months younger and probably won’t get transferred for £25m but is certainly on his way to the top.
Can’t help but think we could have done without the Stuart Broad show in the middle of a test, leave it until the end or announce it before. But then he wouldn’t have had as much of the attention he loves.
I don’t deny he deserves it, I just think his timing could have been better.
Saving him until the ball starts to reverse swing is all well and good if it’s a dry day forecast but if the ball gets wet then it isn’t going to reverse. Plus he struggles to bowl when it’s wet underfoot.
Login and pay for it way in advance is my advice, you can do it as soon as you’re abroad or with a VPN if you’re still in England. This will save faffing about near to kick off.
If in doubt ask a young person to help.
This sounds great, we’ll done all.
Will the club be supporting it at all? I’m not expecting a manager’s notes column but maybe the club could offer bits of news, events, behind the scenes stuff that you’d see in a normal programme.
