  1. TBF to 442 it’s not an easy task, especially when you do it weeks before the season starts. Anyone who’s done this will know how difficult it is and we all get a few howlers when we have a look at the end of the season. I don’t think their last season effort looks too horrendous. Having said that they’ve placed us 8 places too low this time and one or two others look a bit off the mark. We’ll see.
  2. Can’t believe the golf down the road has only had a few spots and little wind.
  3. In a hundred meter sprint that’s acting like a kite and adding on a second or two
  4. It’s the flattest Saturday crowd at a test match I can remember. Oh for a wicket to heat things up
  5. Yes same here and a similar amount of grounds. Also I know the pain of trying to arrange games when you live away, from my 11 years living in Southern France. There were a number of unused plane and train tickets where Sky had changed a game and I was on a tight schedule.
  6. Ah, they just said Woakes wasn’t on the field at end of play so couldn’t bowl
  7. I wouldn’t be starting with Jimmy, please, please prove me wrong but…
  8. Both teams have been ignored so far so they might take the opportunity to kill 2 birds…
  9. He can get his commentary duties in between his batting duties.
  10. I know its probably a lot to ask nowadays but a fully fit Wood and Archer for 5 tests would have been nice
  11. I hope he has a field day out there but if he doesn't we could be seeing the last moments of Jimmy Anderson in a test match today. Also hopefully the forecast isn't as bad as it looks but.....
  12. To be fair the last time there was a declaration argument most of us did
  13. But the draw has been part of cricket for 150 years. As i say, extending test cricket is absolutely the last thing those in charge are about to do. Lets celebrate the fact we've still git 5 day cricket...... for now
  14. Well lets not let the forecast get in the way of the fact we've just scored 592 in an Ashes match. Brilliant.
  15. Declare with him on 99. That's Bazball
  16. To make a decision like that in test cricket would be huge and have to be implemented in every test not just Ashes matches. With today's schedules it's never going to happen, if anything they'll go to 4 days. Nice idea but absolutely no chance of it happening
  17. Mad! Root and Robinson creaming it everywhere- declare Jimmy at great danger of injury in good bowling conditions- stay out there
  18. Nooooooooo, don’t send Jimmy in, what’s the point?
  19. Yeah they’re not even clearing the ropes here, just go big or get out. These conditions could be made for a Jimmy swansong.
  20. I posted that before realising I’d paused the Mark Taylor interview to get some lunch and was still running 5 minutes behind. Damned rain
  21. I’d give Bairstow another 2 or 3 overs of slogging just so their openers have less time to prepare and us a few more runs
  22. I’d agree with you if we played each team twice but in fact there’s only 4 games left. Yes, still possible and I’ll be the first back to like your post if it happens and the cider’s will be on me.
  23. Blackbird! And it’s been a pretty good few weeks of cricket for Somerset. That should ensure 1st division cricket for yet another record breaking year.
  24. To be fair to Lammonby he shouldn’t have been given out in the first innings and must have been chomping at the bit to get back out there. It doesn’t do one’s confidence any good to be moved down the order when chasing 50
  25. 15 of the 19 wickets go to Henry and Overton. What a pair!
