There's probably an answer to this somewhere, but I can't recall seeing it.

What will be the process for cup games?

I have a season ticket and am thinking of bringing my 10 year old grandson to the Oxford game. Obviously I will be paying for the tickets. Is there any info on how this will work for bringing kids to cup games?

I’d like to think they would be loaded to your season card if you have one once you’d paid for it but they didn’t seem to be able to do that before.

If there is an app I guess it will be loaded to that, failing that it’ll be just like previous years where you buy it and either download it on to your phone, this is what I did for the FA cup last season, or print it.

  2. Over the years we must be one of the worse counties at changing between T20 and championship cricket.

I know it’s the same for all countries but I can remember back to Trescothic saying how difficult it is when they chop and change between the two and nothing seems to have changed since.

    Are you sure about that?

Found this under The Hundred playing conditions, so it looks like it’s still the case. I guess places like India, Pakistan, South Africa etc want to be able to look at stats for a player like Smeed when he goes there to play.

That was what was said after the first 100 series and then I noticed it has Smeed’s ton from the 100 on his T20 record.

As with most things 100, I pay little attention to it so not sure if that’s still the case, looks like it is.

  5. Cracking game, didn't see it all but Gloucestershire certainly made a good game if it.

The most pleasing thing for me was to get Craig and Aldridge a decent bat which they did very well. That'll stand them in good stead

  6. I’m on holiday and thought I’d catch up with all yesterday’s goings on in county cricket via this thread.

Brilliant stuff, Middlesex have gone from the worst T20 side ever to world record holders in the space of the two minutes it took me to read the thread.

What a cracking tournament the Blast is, imagine if big money was spent promoting it, in the school holidays, on FTA tv, with counties allowed to invite3 or 4 overseas players?

Not wishing to tempt fate, but with two out of our three remaining games being against Gloucestershire (at Taunton on Friday) and Kent, surely we must get a home draw in the Quarter Final.

We’re just 2 points shy of last years total which earned us 2nd place.

Our bowling attack really does lack that extra spark.

When you think of the ages of Broad and Anderson and the injuries to Mo and Stokes we’ve done well to get this close.

But how they all fair over 5 tests really will be a test.

  9. Can’t believe listening to commentary on my home before tea they had England slight favourites.

two players looking comfortable, one of the 5 wickets a night watchman, I had Australia a bit better than slight favourites.

gonna need a clutch of wickets now to swing it back our way.

Stop it. Its brave cricket - how many times have we bemoaned not lose declarations? Say what you like but its rollercoaster brilliant to watch cricket.

No I'm with you i absolutely liove this approach in general but there's still got to be a line that when it's crossed its just reckless.

I felt the way the 2 were batting the reward wasn't worth the risk in this case but im certainly nit going to get sngry about it. Im loving it overall

I remember watching Lancs against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay a few years back, Glenn Maxwell was playing for us and put one out of the ground and straight through the windscreen of a car parked on the road outside.

Not cricket but a mate was late for his tee time at a golf competition, turned up in his transit van with a minute to spare.

Got his gear together, ran to the tee, got his driver out and drove his ball straight through his own van’s windscreen.

I understand the reasoning behind the declaration -

Although feels a strange one to me with your best bat still at the crease.

I think that was the main opposition to it. If it had been Broad and Robinson then fair enough but Root was on fire and Robinson was looking comfortable. Another 60 looked a piece of cake.

‘It’s amazing how quickly the balance in these t20’s can change’

Sorry at what point in this run chase have Essex been on top…?!

In the second over the Essex comms said “Somerset run rate already looking worrying at nearly 12 an over. It was a run a ball a few overs later
