Wells and Conway have hardly been played as a combination at any point in the last 4 months so I don’t think you can say that they aren’t working well together. It happened briefly against QPR and gave us the best opportunity of a goal in the match, as Nakhi played in Tommy and his shot narrowly missed .

Yeah I don’t know why I put in the word combination, I was just remembering when they were a good combination.

I feel for both having to play in this team. Such a shame Tommy’s effort was ruled offside, we all really needed that.

  2. We’ve had a few of these polls in the last 5 or 6 years and we always end up with the same amount of SC holders, if not more.

I think Covid times proved to a lot of us that we don’t turn up JUST for the football, it’s everything that goes with it that a lot of us missed when we weren’t allowed to go.

Best of luck with your health issues @westonred you can always get a membership and pick and chose games

Actually enjoyed it in the run up to Christmas as a fan, not against it

Same. And I think it suits our players more than a summer tournament where we seem to turn up with more end of season exhaustion than any other nation.

We were a tad unlucky not to progress further in the last one.

  4. A quick count for me comes out as 22 old grounds in England, nearly all of those I’ve visited their new replacements, including West Ham, Leicester and Southampton this season.

Also a couple in France, Toulouse & Nice both old and new.

A number of complete refurbishments too, Charlton, Bournemouth, Marseille, Plymouth, us to name a few.

I see you are in Teignmouth and our train stops there on Saturday which is the one that gets in to BTM at about 10:15. You are welcome to a can of Natch if you are on the same train.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I’ve now got to pop into work first thing so will be on the next train or drive.

Fingers crossed we have a good day. COYR

  6. YouTube has the subscribe button, if you click that then that channel or YouTuber will always be under subscriptions.

Just clicking the like button doesn’t do much for you I don’t think, except YouTube will promote similar videos/channels on your Home Screen.

First and foremost Manning doesn't seem to be able to adapt. If Plan A goes well, we look decent if we get sussed out which seems to be happening more often than not then Manning looks like a rabbit in the headlights. I think we will be ok in that we won't get relegated but that is hardly an aspiration is it? I keep hearing and reading that once the summer has come and gone we will be looking better and to be within a top 6 finish. I just can't see it myself.

I'm one of 8 of us coming up from Devon on the train for the Cardiff game and booked it all a few weeks ago. Got a crate of Natch and will be on the first can by the time the train leaves at 8:28am.

Most of us a travelling in hope rather than expectation. I've been having nightmares about Fam scoring the winner and tapping his head in front of the South Stand.

It feels like our Devon fanbase is growing every year. I might be on the same train, especially now you’ve mentioned Natch!

I just noticed that with Saturday’s results, Stoke slipped into bottom three!

There are a lot of Stokies not happy with Schumacher and even some calling for the return of Pulis, which is pretty much what they always do when they’ve lost a few.

They certainly are in a relegation fight, they should get out of it but it might well go down to that last game of the season.

Haven’t made my mind up whether to go yet, it might be a game too edgy for me and my Stoke supporting wife.

As it stands, with 1.29 points per game, we are on pace to finish with 59 points which was exactly our tally last term when we finished 14th.

Which isn’t close to being relegated. With the amount of clubs beneath us I’m very confident we’re not in a relegation fight.

I think it was the season before last we had a similar thread that carried on way into April. When the season finished it turned out we had enough points by late February to stay up.

Of course Stoke away is a very happy hunting ground recently, 5 wins on the trot is it? I’ve a feeling it will end this season with Stoke surviving and us making big gains on last season with a solid 13th place.

His club legend status is waivering for sure. He doesn’t go to away games now due to the grief he gets from upset fans.

A great left foot for sure but I could never offer legendary status to a professional footballer who wouldn’t/couldn’t pass a ball 5 yards with his right foot.

Yep, I was at Corinthian Casuals in '83 when Millwall turned up.

Was this the start of the long running feud you talk of?

There had always been an air of trouble when City played Millwall, I remember it in the 70's and I've heard stories going right back to the mid 60's, but this was on match days and Millwall's yob element had stronger rivalries with other clubs, so why did it become a long running feud with City in particular?

At the time of the Corinthian Casuals match we'd only played Millwall in 1 season - 81/82 - since '75, so did something notable happen at one of those games in 81/82 to start it off?

I was at that game and seem to remember it wasn’t a complete surprise when they turned up but can’t quite remember why. I’ve a vague memory of some City fans going to Millwall in the summer and spraying some message on the back of a stand or something like that.

Things certainly got worse before they got better, the tit for tat seemed to go on for years.

When I think of Torquay I think of over-turned police-cars, the Nolan sisters and boats !!!!

I must have been stood no more than 10 meters from that police van when it went over, also remember the city fans in a boat on the harbour.

Sadly I missed the Nolan sisters

Yes having lived in Devon for 3 years, no one outside of Torquay has much interest in Torquay! Plymouth v Exeter is a pretty fierce rivalry though.

I think Torquay stayed full-time in National League South which would be insane if true.

I was at Plainmoor for the infamous Torquay v Bristol City game in 83/84.

Yes Torquay and Yeovil are full time and I think Worthing and Maidstone are pretty much full time. Eastbourne were considering it but are third bottom so that’s not going well.

I was at that Torquay game too, great memories. In fact Torquay were the first league team I saw whilst on holiday when they played Saturday evenings. I still go at least once a year now.

Will Exeter (or to a lesser extent ,Plymouth) fans be acting like we would if the same thing was happening to the gash, as I believe there was no love lost between them ?

I did see a post from a Plymouth supporters club asking for fans to attend Torquay matches when possible to offer support. Torquay have fallen so far plus there’s room for more than the two league clubs Devon currently has.

As for our situation, same city rivalries are a quite different and you could argue there’s not room for two clubs in the city, so………….

Somebody has to fund the generously low say £250,000 to get them to the end of the season.

The shareholders might, but then why would you threaten administration in the middle of a season and not wait until 31 May?

    Interesting but difficult times ahead.

I’m working on Saturday but might buy a ticket for the match anyway. It really would be grim if they drop even further……or worse!
