  1. One of the few albums I acquired after hearing at a party. I was at some girl I didn't know's house in 1983 and heard Uncertain Smile being played. I asked what the music was and said I thought it was brilliant, and she instantly taped me off a copy of the album. (Don't worry, Matt Johnson, I've bought it subsequently ?)
  2. I guess last season and for some of this one, our default last 20 minutes of every game has been to sit deep and pray to high heaven that we don't concede. When you invite pressure, you invite (ahem) more box entries and are always prone to give away a penalty. That said, I think we have the right to feel aggrieved by the last two league ones, given the context of what went on in the rest of the game.
  3. I was there as well. Good gig, although the Cheese & Grain's beer selection left something to be desired. One thing always to be said, HMHB do love playing in the West Country and Nigel Blackwell has a great love of the area generally, as many song titles attest. They've already pencilled in some gigs later this year, including a Cardiff gig, so there's always a chance they may schedule one on the right side of the bridge.
  4. Our injury rate last season was utterly appalling. I can only see positive progress on player fitness since Rennie joined.
  5. In which case, why have Bentley sat there as well? For once, I do agree with HR that it seems a bizarre and curious thing to do. The likelihood of having two keepers injured in a game is almost zero, however the likelihood of having several outfield players crocked is much higher and we had people there available as emergency back-up but not on the bench because we chose two goalies. In the end, it makes no difference because existing players performed well and we didn't even need to make our fifth sub until the last half of E/T. It still strikes me as odd though. As did the starting line-up of the Millwall game. You can support the positive progress Pearson is having here and still question his judgement at times.
  6. I was interested to see the icon suggesting they serve champagne cocktails in that little tin shack attached to the stadium. Gurt posh up Cheshire way!
  7. Seems to be the similarly named Malik Sesay. Sesay seems to be a fairly common name in West Africa, when I researched how long the wrong 'un got, I found there was a Sierra Leone politician with the same name.
  8. He'd fit in with Joey then. However it can't be him. He got 10 years in 2021, will still be inside.
  9. Congratulations Billy. My missus had our second 14 years ago on the day we narrowly lost to Boro in the equivalent cup game that season.
  10. Two upsets already: Blackpool beaten by Hartlepool; Burnley lose to Huddersfield.
  11. Aye, it was today's opponents who had the delight of being owned by the Phony Pharoah.
  12. Culturally tone deaf as well. Fayed was an Egyptian, whereas ayatollahs are Shi-ite priests, mainly from Iran. Of course, Cardiff fans are just shites, without the hyphen...
  13. Fair point ? I'm a voice in the wilderness when I join in a song up there!
  14. Always likely after h/t. They'll bring Big Mitro on if they don't seem to be getting anything out of the game later.
  15. Do you understand the distinction between "we booed some former players" and "we boo every former player"? The former is true, the latter false.
  16. Maybe because, despite the assertions, we don't routinely boo all former players. So why these two? Doesn't make sense as far as I'm concerned. Others can do what they like, but I'm with the majority of the crowd in not booing former players just because they moved on. Maynard and Tomlin are exceptions.
  17. "Villains" for moving to another club at a then-higher level and to earn more money?! Changing jobs to earn more is what everyone does. It doesn't make you a "villain".
  18. I don't care but felt the need to explain why some supporters - including this one - find it a bit cringey. We're fans, but it's a job to them. Some people don't seem to get that.
