It's the best points haul for us - in history! Vast numbers of years in the Third and the Fourth Division, occasionally the Second, and fairly briefly the First. Certainly pisses all over the achievements of Danny Wilson, who you seem to idolise. You don't need to be in love with people to recognise them as good managers: Need I remind you who achieved our highest league position in 42 years?

It's absolutely chucking it down at the minute here, so I can't blame 'em for not standing out in the fields.

They have multiple hundreds of volunteers. Quite a number pop out to get beers at my local. It usually works that they buy a ticket, but have the money refunded after working the agreed shifts.

Northern monkeys generally were there en masse. I suppose festivals have to evolve and change, and some things are for the better now, but I liked it back in the early 90s, when I used to just bump into everyone I knew who lived locally. Nowadays, you need to make elaborate arrangements in order to liaise with friends.

Yesterday, my itinerary was Warmduscher; Cate Le Bon; get a bite to eat [that's not a band name]; Jack White; meet some old friends [also not a band name]; dash to see about half the Pet Shop Boys set and meet up with the girls. Walk to village gate. Home in 15. Today, I shall be avoiding the roads and hoping my cats aren't run over by departing festival goers who think it's OK to speed through narrow village lanes at 55mph now they've done their 5-day "love and peace" schtick. Work commitments and plantar fascitis stopped me having the full-on Festival experience this year, but I'd be daft not to take advantage of having it on my doorstep. I can hear the bands anyway, I might as well see a few! When there's no mud, it's always a fun visit.

Frank Williams, who played the Vicar in Dad's Army, has passed away. Now only Ian Lavender left of the regular cast members.

Hopefully he'll be able to work within the game in a role that doesn't leave him at risk of any further head injuries. He'll have had months now knowing that he's played his last, but it'll still be an utter sickener for the man. In 2022 we know a lot more about the neurological damage that repeat concussions can do than we did in the past. In years gone by, Nathan would've been back playing within a game or so, risking very serious long-term consequences if concussed again. For his sake and his family's, lets hope the decision to effectively retire was taken before any lasting damage has been done. If by any chance he reads Otib, he'll realise he has the good wishes and respect of City fans with him, whatever the future holds.

Harvey's brewery of Lewes seem to have a pretty good estate of tied houses in Sussex. I used to be partial to a pint of Harvey's Best when I drank in their London pub, the Cat's Back near Wandsworth Bridge.

I think the Wednesday and Thursday noise and traffic disruption issue is something the Eavises will have to address. Local councillors email inboxes are full of complaints, I understand. For many years, the Festival has enjoyed majority public (and council) support in the area. But that's based on it being 3 days of disruption, not 5.

It's all go tonight, judging by the amount of noise coming from Pilton. From my cottage, over the valley, it sounds like the Devil moving furniture around. At the risk of sounding like a Disgusted Of Wells sort of local newspaper letter writer, there seems to be a bit of mission-creep among the festival operators from a three nights of noise to a five nights of noise scenario. I'm minorly peeved.
