  1. I think it's just a 1 year contract. @GrahamC outlined to me, that it wasn't the easiest negotiation to get over the line, for a multitude of reasons.
  2. Loved Agostino, he would have been at the forefront of our attack for a number of seasons. Strange move in a way to German football, and that he never came back to a club in this country. He had all the attributes to play at a much higher level in this country after all.
  3. Glad to see he's there. Looks a real prospect, in the under 23s but we've only got him on a 1 year deal. Hopefully he can prove his worth over the next few months, and we can extend it further.
  4. Maybe Bakinson is injured Reg? ?
  5. Let the injury conspiracy theories start....... Let's start the season with just the "W"
  6. Kasey Palmer, without a shadow of a doubt. £6.5m (fee + wages) after a very avearge loan spell. In a position that we didn't need another player in (Paterson & new signing Symodics there already). 25 games played in his time here, awful just awful. Engvall was also appalling, but on completely different financial spectrum; and of course we got a larger fee back (probably) for Engvall than we did for Palmer as well.
  7. Was going to say the manager obviously likes, and rates him. Has rotated a lot of players over the three games. But Scott will probably come out as one of the highest in terms of minutes on the pitch.
  8. Thanks Graham. I have to admit my brain got a bit confused by Dave P there. I completely defer to @Davefevs on accountancy matters ?
  9. Got something like Plymouth (again) or Cheltenham written all over it on a season's loan hasn't it?
  10. No cuddles from Nigel on the first day of training then?
  11. I'm listening to Forever Bristol City Podcast | Midsummer musings featuring DaveFevs & Neil Sutton on Podbean, check it out! https://www.podbean.com/ea/pb-fkcpp-125b3ff Really enjoyed doing this one. All feedback appreciated....?
  12. Money can make a lot of things "Go away " unfortunately.
  13. Well said @AshtonRobin21 I can't see the Club commentating on Baker again. The next communication will be from Nathan himself, when he feels the time is right to make an announcement. Very sad scenario for both the player, his family; and the Club no doubt.
  14. Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton's assault trial is adjourned again https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/bristol-rovers-manager-joey-bartons-7247962#ICID=Android_BristolPostApp_AppShare This trial in front of just a District Judge rather than a jury was always going to be more difficult for JB rather than the Stendal one. He has the same QC representing him ( Simon Czoka) who is very good. But they are limited in how they can effect the Judge in this case. Hence, loads of dismissal applications (all turned down), Adjournments etc. All testing the CPS, and Police's mettle on this. It doesn't need a four month adjournment to decide if someone is going to be a defence witness or not. But this is the judicial system at the moment, money talks. I believe Mrs Barton is pregnant again. No doubt come October, the defence will say "your honour, we wish to call Mrs Barton as a defence witness now, but she is heavily pregnant; and can't appear. Can we have another adjournment please?" The case will then turn again into the proverbial kicking a can down the road scenario. Until the CPS runs out of money/motivation to prosecute it; and settles out of court on some sort of bind over (non conviction). Shocking really.
  15. Well that threw me, coming into the podcast hearing @Davefevs rather than the wonderful Mr Gay. Glad I bought you around to my way of thinking on HNM anyhow Dave. ?.
  16. What was the programme it was on? Many thanks
  17. KP is not a bad player, he's just emblematic of how we completely lost control of both our identity, and finances as a club.
  18. Wrong Hunt I think, i.e not Jack?
  19. Thanks @Mr Popodopolous& @Davefevsfor this. I can't help feeling though that Naismith in particular will be on £10k+ at the very least; and Wilson/Sykes collectively around the same as Cundy & COD put together.(Cundy on minimal wages potentially). With that in mind, KP,COD & Cundy leaving (at this stage) feels more like a perhaps £500k off the wage bill rather than the £2m for me. If Kalas/Wells were to go as well as Moore & Vyner for instance; then maybe that's when the major reductions of the wage bill will come into play? I won't add HNM to the list out of respect for @Davefevsfeelings ?
  20. All about opinions of course, but in the last 2 month of the season, Atkinson for me came on leaps and bounds. He looked fitter, and stronger; and more adjusted to the demands of the Championship. I think it helped him having a vocal experienced CB in Klose playing alongside him. Cundy always gave 100%, but he was at times caught out positionally, and for pace. He looked leggy, and although in true HNM fashion he had "Potential", I don't see him progressing much with us in the medium to long term (hence the speculated 1 year contract offer). Good luck to him at Barnsley. If he's got a 3 year deal out of them, then fair play. I think L1 will probably suit him at this stage of his career. Better to be negotiating coming off 14 games in the Championship (A lot of them starting), then being let go from a Championship club with only a couple of appearances. The summer of 2023 will be a big period of change in the club with so many players being OOC. NP, and others obviously saw him as more of a stop gap defender until that time (hence the deal offered). Barnsley will of course be one of the contenders in L1 this season, so maybe he will get the opportunities to develop his game further with them.
  21. So through the Gas, and JB's extensive scouting network they've identified & signed a scouser from Fleetwood. Top work there. Jordan Rossiter: Bristol Rovers sign Fleetwood Town captain for undisclosed fee - BBC Sport
  22. Indeed, can you imagine the scenes at AG if/when HNM scores a goal? It would be like the Arsenal John Jensen celebrations. Followed by countless t-shirts saying "I was there, when Massengo scored"?
  23. A very reliable social media commentator on Transfers. Normally the one that gets closest to being 100% correct.
