  1. Maybe just buy some good quality ' clobber' and stick a small enamel pin badge on the clothing if you want to tell all un sundry who you support when out...

If City were to produce what's being requested, you just know it would poor quality. And you'd pay through the nose for it.

30 years this week since the tragic deaths of Senna and Ronald Ratzenberger at Imola .

Thanks for sharing that, I hadn't watched it before. Ratzenbergers passing is often forgotten about because of Senna.

Like you say, a very sad weekend.

I visited Sennas grave when in Sau Paulo. It's the humblest of Graves. Just a small plate in the ground. Some of the lads from McLaren wanted to pay their respects, so I tagged along. I'm glad I did, as it was very moving.

Guess that stupid football manager comment knocks on the head my hope Will Still would ever manage us then!

Also I'm just going to stick up for the football manager games - they obviously aren't perfect, they're games, but they do a good job of stimulating football on the whole and are updated every year to pretty well match the rules of the game on AND off the pitch. FFP, work permits, annoying boards, whatever. It's in there.

If you want to learn about football in general and get a pretty decent view on thousands of up and coming players from across England (and the world) you could do a lot worse than give them a go.

Will Still was the first thing that came into my head with the comment too.

And let's face it...most football analysts that the Club rely on came about from the likes of such.

You have Jon's comments that are so flippant and show him in the light of no understanding of the fan base...and then the comments from NP recently that said the fan base were knowledgeable and patient.

You've only got to read this forum to see there are knowledgeable people on here.

I’m certainly not against collaborative thinking and empowerment of the playing staff.
I certainly wouldn’t advocate a “my way or the highway” type of leadership.
So I don’t see a problem per sé in what occurred, nor do I see a problem per sé that Manning accepted the feedback from the players and took action.

The problem for me, and the reason that this incident gave me the full 180 (remember, I was backing him before this), was that it demonstrated to me that Liam didn’t have the nous nor the leadership to have recognised this problem for himself.
It was pretty clear to every single fan that the players were not able to play the style that Liam wanted. It should have been obvious to Liam and his staff too.
If should have been something that came from Liam to the group to say “ok lads, I see things aren’t working the way we want. Let’s revert to our collective strengths, get some form and results and we can continue to work on my new philosophy in training and seek to progress”.

The fact he didn’t recognise this himself and the change only occurred after the players intimated this, is why I lost all confidence in him.

As I said, I was very vocally behind him on this forum up until that point. And I’m still actually generally happy with how his term has progressed so far. But this incident showed me he doesn’t have the kahunaberries to lead this team to the top end.
I hope he does, and I’m not calling for his head - would be pointless anyway as he’s going nowhere. But I do now lack confidence in him

I think he probably did recognise it...he just didn't want change. He has said in interviews that one of his weaknesses is being stubborn.

Eventually gave in and saw sense.

Naismith is still contracted until 2025, that isn't to say transfers  can't happen of course but Free Agent in 2025 as it stands.

Yes I knew that...it was more along the lines that he's the same age as James, more injury prone, and has another year.

For me...overall...James brings the most to the team. He's the glue that holds us together.

I want him to stay more than anyone.

He brings so much to this team.

I have a strong feeling that next season will finally be our year. The way we have finished the season, shows that pressing the trigger on Manning early, would have been wrong. We are bouncing and hopefully we will carry this into next season, especially as we have 2 exciting players to come in and I've no doubt we will sign 2/3 more in the summer. I've got a really good feeling about next season. Finally things are slotting in to place.

What's worth considering is how many players are leaving, and how long it took on the grass to get his methods ingrained.

During that period we dropped many points. We have also had an easier run of games recently.

Any new players will have to go through the same process, and there is always a chance they won't be a good fit.

In that period, we are likely to repeat dropping points.

To get any chance of top 6 we have to hit the ground running.

Hello. I don’t know if this is a good idea to post, but I’m the dad of the child - my son, Jay (not his real name) - that ran onto the pitch in the early stages of the match. First and foremost, I want to offer a profound apology to you all, to every fan, the players and clubs for Jay’s actions. I’d like to try and provide some context, if you’ll let me, to help explain what happened and why.

Jay has just turned 11. He has autism and is suffering from PTSD after 3 years of physical abuse at school, being restrained by teaching staff (which was concealed from us). Both of these conditions create complex issues for Jay, one of which is he is heightened to what he may (incorrectly) perceive of as a threat, causing he to flee. This is what we think happened on Saturday.

We were enjoying the game and then all of a sudden, he said he needed to go to the toilet. I asked him to wait and then before I knew it, he said ‘I’m going to the toilet’, for up and walked down the steps. I was about to go after him and then - out of nowhere, he turned and jumped the barrier. We were stocked and horrified. We couldn’t believe it. I tried to shout to him but he couldn’t hear me. At that point, I was really worried for him. He didn’t know what he was doing. As I ran to jump the barrier, I saw him fall. I (worryingly) thought he’d be tackled and - rightly or wrongly - I got protective of my little boy. When I got to him, he was petrified. I said ‘it’s ok I’ve got you’ turned to get him off the pitch but the Rotherham fans were shouting hateful comments, threats and abuse at him. Again, I should have reacted much better, but I responded to protect my child. I know it doesn’t look like he was scared - we do not condone he sticking his finger up - but this is a know protective response from children with disabilities like Jay. I felt exposed and vulnerable myself and so went into ‘fight’ mode. To be honest, it’s all blur. I was saying to him ‘it’s ok, I’ll get you out of here’.

The stewards tried to direct me off the other side of the pitch but I was worried about my eldest son, who was all alone in the stand. I just ran off and left him. He was so scared too. The stewards then grabbed me and I tried to say I’m just protecting Jay.

Again, I am sorry deeply sorry to you all. This shouldn’t have happened and I take full responsibility. I’m sorry. My family are devastated, for lots of reasons, about what happened. I’m worried about my job, Jay being identified and targeted. The ongoing social media hate is really hard to deal with. I get why people are so angry. Football is precious and match days are special and to be treated as such. What Jay did was not acceptable but I hope, by posting this, you might be able to understand it more. This was about disabilities and the difficulty of managing them daily. I messed up and let Jay down. It will take me a long time to get over this. As his father I must do better.

    Please accept my apologies.

Thanks for taking the time to clarify.

Apologies for posting the filmed tweet and making a joke of it.

I hope there are no repercussions for you and your son.

All the best fellow red 👍

I may be different to many on here, but having watched City since the 1970s - with most of it taking place in the 3rd tier - mid-table ‘stable’ championship isn’t too bad.
Of course I want promotion, but mid table Championship comfort is better for me than the ‘excitement’ (ahem) of a relegation battle or competing in the JPT (or whatever it’s called now).

It was more the quote about European football that made me cringe.

We are mundane and beige, we are often regarded as one of England's most boring teams as we rarely get involved at either end of the table and we never play Rovers...

    https://directorsbox.app/britains-most-boring-football-teams/

    This quote made me cringe...

Bristol City, a club that publicly announced their ambitions to bring European football to the recently re-developed Ashton Gate, have only finished in the top half of the Championship once in the last 10 years, while simultaneously rarely coming in any danger of relegation

  10. Fell over, looks like he's about to start blubbing, father runs on, gives fans the bird, kid gets all cocky again...my only question is...why is his dad wearing clothes too small, and the kid wearing a jacket three times too big.? Is this a thing? 🤷😄

This isn't the biggest deal in the world but it is a little silly that Manning is saying in press conferences that no talks are taking place and then Tinnion is saying on Robins TV who we have and haven't offered a contract. I do feel there is a lack of a comms strategy at times...

If you ever wanted a rumour spreading, then BT is your man. Definitely a loose Cannon imo.

Not sure we can build something important from this period of good results, especially considering that some players will probably leave...but a positive run is always nice, so well done Liam & the lads!

    Exactly my thoughts as well.

How many that played today will still be with us next season.

All that time on the grass getting drilled with players that possibly won't be with us next season is wasted...back to square one if many leave in the summer.

I think this programme confirms pretty much what we all have surmised from the events in that Nige is a man of integrity and its shown that the influential powers that be who run OUR club suffer from a lack of it.

It had left an open wound for many (including me). He made reference to "classy" Leicester as a club which I also took as a slight on the way he was treated here. He obviously has to be careful with the confidentiality agreement in place.

To soften the blow a little I do think that the club were thinking about changing direction at the end of his contract anyway and his health issues and barbed comments probably hastened the exit. I also think his way of managing and leaving it up to the coaches to coach also just underlined to the hierarchy to just get a head coach and save money on him and his entourage.

It will be interesting to interview him after the confidentiality agreement has finished as I'm pretty sure he will fill in the missing pieces when asked.

How I see it...'The Club' are the fans.

He had nothing but praise for us. Said we were understanding, and knowledgeable.

Also keeps in contact with staff members at HPC and keeps an eye on our performances.

He knows he was respected here and that the majority feel he was hard done by.

Only the custodians showed no class.

I can't remember a situation where a great many supporters ' the Club', rever an ex manager for his total class in the way he conducts himself, against the dross by comparison of our custodians. They say and try to come across as the ' Clean dignified classy family Club' but they are far from that imo.

  14. I enjoyed that.

What crossed my mind, about the sacking, and that it wasn't amicable, is what reason they gave to Pearson on sacking him.

He says he finds out post sacking by public interviews that it was down to results and worry re deconditioning of players.

It's obvious he didn't want to go...so what was there reason to him.

He says he's a manager, and obviously relied on his coaching staff to coach.

In the same breath, he says he's concentrating on getting back to full health and reading between the lines wouldn't take another job on until ready.

So did he feel with his health situation he could still manage us using his Coaches.

It raises those questions in my head.

Scott Twine's teeth are just horrible, Swindon Town. They were perfectly acceptable with their imperfections.

Now they are just too big and straight perfect white for his head, they stand out and annoy the crap out of me.

Summer signing Scott Twine opens up on injury nightmare that plagued the start of his career at Burnley

If it annoys you, give this lady a follow: https://www.tiktok.com/@veneercheck?lang=en. On a more serious note, this quest for perfect teeth is just absurd and can't be good for the youth who are obsessed with it.

For some reason he reminds me of Crazy frog.
