  1. We've been blessed in a short space of time, with academy players who were Championship ready and some now Prem.

Under NP I think he included some academy players, even though they weren't capable of playing well consistently at this standard. But then he wasn't given money to bring in players that were considered any better.

At this present time under Manning, he's being given money to spend. To bring in loans.

Imo, what we have in the academy right now, isn't Championship ready.

Let's be honest, we've been very blessed in recent years.

I also really believe that BT would push for players to be included in his previous role. In his new role, imo, it's no coincidence that inclusion has fallen off, regardless of whether they are good enough or not.

Previously he was judged on the academy. Not now under his new role.

Top 6 at least L2 budget this season. I think increasing that by 50% for National League would be insane but this is Dale Vince. A fool and his money are easily parted.

Their biggest problem will be getting rid of the vast majority of overpaid and disinterested players.

    Mad agents fees.

    50k more than the Gas.

In fact only 7 teams in league 1 had higher agent fees than bottom of League 2 FGR.

Shocking. Especially when you look at the disinterested players.

Yep. It actually looked quite tidy, wish I could find a picture!

Sounds like a plan. Wouldn't mind that with blue round collar and cuffs.

I’m going to show my age here, but does anyone remember in the 90s the club put four or five options for kits out in the Evening Post, and one of them was red and white halves on the shirt?

    Like Feyenoord?

Couldnt get to the Gate so Robins TV did the trick. Leroy loves the players and club, particularly Liam. What a great series of opinions about our coach- might be worth that seagul from Weston taking a listen!! I bet a lot of other recent moaners wont be on here tonight.

With a transfer window to come, with Zak our oldest player starting at 26 and with inspired subs like Liam has made tonight i reckon all our season ticket holders will be delighted  and encouraging their mates too join up as well for August; it isnt long now. Up the City!

He also said how important James, King and Wells have been for us and that our young team need that experience.

Perhaps pass that on to Bristol Sport.

He also said about his love for NP and explained eloquently the reason why City chose to go down the route of more coaching on the training pitch to kick on from mid table, and that being the reason they chose Manning.

An explanation that if BT and JL had said would have been accepted better...but no...they just chose to state bollox like they normally do.

Sadly you to aren't clever enough to know when and what are the right things to say...if bad timing and bullshit was the recipe for success, Bristol Sport would be Champions league.

Sadly they actually believe they are proficient. 🙈🤷😂

We’ve beat a steaming pile of turd at last. Well done Liam, been a huge hole in your record. 5-0 was the right result tbh. Could have been 7 quite easily.

As for Blackburn, I’ve never seen a side let their fans down like that for a long time. Back four were League 2. Felt sorry for the keeper playing behind that.

    City absolutely strolled that.

It was like a training session. So relaxed. No pressure what so ever.

Good win...but jeez...that's the worst performance from an away side I've seen in a long time. And they finished 7th last season.

Yeah sorry. Tbh im conditioned that your posts are mostly waffle. My bad on this occasion

You know fair well that my posts aren't mostly waffle.

Just be honest...we just disagree a lot on many political and social issues. And have locked horns over it.

I'm happy to agree to disagree and put a line under it.

Respect and thank you for the apology, many wouldn't. So appreciated fellow red 👍😎

  9. With respect to people about racism. What has that got to do with Eid?

Eid is a Muslim celebration. Any race can have the religious faith of Islam.

It's very apparent in recent years that the religious faith of Islam and anything racist has been clouded and blurred.

This has nothing to do with race or the colour of a person's skin.

It's purely a religious celebration carried out by the faith of Islam.

    It's religion not race.

Not the biggest fan of Lounges, but think this is a real positive for the harbourside, decent food, somewhere actually dog friendly for a huge dog walking area, and will be a brilliant view for a breakfast/lunch/evening bite at the very least.

Makes me laugh how everyone of there establishments has a name that finishes with the letter O.

The one they had in Cardiff covered in portraits of Mussolini was also very odd.

Apparently they get all their furnishings or did from a warehouse in Romania.

    If Wetherspoons did a lounge...

It's a shame what's along that stretch of the harbour side. Just all a bit meh...

Imo...it would suit smaller buildings, that could be let to non chain like establishments.

You could easily double what's there with smaller units.

Bit confused by the original post. My understanding was Muslims were unable to eat pork for religious reasons and not unable to look at photographs of pork for religious reasons so it is rather confusing what point, if any is being made.

What entertained me though was the person who replied complaining that the club hadn't put up a "Happy Easter" post, only for several people to reply linking to the "Happy Easter" post that the club had very clearly done. It goes to show the people who feign outrage about these things tend not to link their grumbles to objective reality. It's a bit like the people who complain about a lack of an International Men's Day in March but ignore International Men's Day in November...

    Obviously went woosh to many.

City put up a post celebrating Eid. Then a supporter put up a post showing a 'Gammon' (pork) term used about white men who are enraged as their skin goes the colour of gammon.

Jokingly pointing out the ridiculousness of the tweet...using pork.

Obviously wooshed a few. Others seemingly not fussed which is fine.

Said tongue in cheek with no mutants involved...so I guess that makes it ok 🤪😁😎👍😂

A big reason is that north of Yate isn't Green Belt tbh. Same reason Charfield and Thornbury (north and east) have been lumped with a load of new houses over the past 10 years.

South Glos is running out of land in sustainable locations to build housing outside the Green Belt though (Charfield for example has reached capacity due to J14 of the M5 being inadequate), hence the new Local Plan is proposing a lot of housing in the Green Belt.

    12-Green-Belt.jpg

I did my school work experience in the Architects department of South Glos Council. I was shown the at the time proposed plans for Yate. They went almost to the edge of Bath.

Later when I got my first job as an Architectural Technician, they were abolished... thankfully.

I'm heading down that way in a few weeks, going to the Little Big Horn battlefield, don't know why I haven't done it before as it's only an 8 hour drive away from my house. If you think the road to Montana is bad, check out my drive to work, Medicine Hat to Fort Mackay in Alberta, that's mind blowingly boring straight roads, do that trip every 14 days, ugh!

Never got to see that either.

Got to the Fort and buffalo jumps/falls, where the native Indians drove buffalo over the cliffs.

I think I've said it before, but I think the lack of competition at the front is the biggest issue here. Though not perfect by any means, at least in the Hamilton years you had his battle with Rosberg. During the Vettel years the rivalry with Webber was great. There were actually some title deciders at the end of the year.

At the moment there is just... nothing. And it's partially because Max is so good, partially because we have new rules that completely play into the hands of Newey (who is already the best designer in F1), and partially because Red Bull are and always have been pretty much a one-car team. That means the fastest team is miles ahead, and within that team there is little chance of any title battle.

Throw in the new budget cap meaning it's very hard for teams to catch up within a rules period and it's basically a recipe for having near enough the same sequence of cars in order from 2021 to 2025. Which is absolute crap.

While the budget cap is well intentioned, it's causing damage here and I'm not sure it's possible to rectify it before 2026. Liberty adding more and more races also makes year-end title deciders mathematically less likely. It's just all a bit stale nowadays.

Lot to be said in that.

Look at the state of Williams now

I believe in its early years it had its fair share of social issues due to thousands of houses being built and no amenities.

Suicides were high but not as bad as you say.

Divorce rates were off the scale,  Swinging parties were a common source of entertainment - with lots of young couples (new to the area - mainly Bristolians) eager for some target practice!

Youngsters had nothing to do except congregate in large groups, drink cider and act hard - not too dissimilar to other places.

It has improved over the years though, and as Silvio has pointed out it is a good place to live.

The Farmhouse was notorious for keys in a pot swingers party's. There was even a video doing the rounds

002, that was a real dive when I lived in Yate (by the Four Seasons) The Tern was sheer luxury by comparison !

The four seasons was where Lidle is now, a good way away from 002 in Abbotswood.

When in my teens, the Lawns was the place to go.

Pubs in Yate are pretty dire tbh...but Sodders more than makes up for it.

Stanshaws hotel/pub is by far the saddest state of affairs. Such a lovely building and grounds. Sadly never developed properly to reach it's massive potential.

  18. I think F1 has lost its way a little.

It's now more a show of glamour and wealth.

Bigger restrictions need to be made on cars development and budget more limited.

    Cars made smaller and lighter.

More reliance on driver ability needed.

It's no coincidence that most drivers quote their karting days as their best days.

My hope for this season is that Lando gets a win. RB go backwards. McLaren and Ferrari make gains on them. Mercedes improve to make it a four team possibility.

And it'll never happen...but Carlos to come back to McLaren and partner Lando again next season.

Oh...and Riccardo to retire. Loathe him. 😁
