  1. Luckily for City, I feel many will renew season tickets regardless.

Many fans live in hope, don't want to lose their seat, FOMO, just in case someone else is appointed. Others it's just a ritual they do regardless, as the football is just part of the day out.

What’s your take on ‘emotions’ in Manning speak PF?

The terms 'Emotions'...' Behaviors'...' Environments' etc, that Manning just spews at every opportunity, are straight out of the football coaching manuals. As are other various terminologies he spews.

If you actually wanted to understand the meanings RR, it's very simple...Google is your friend. There are numerous accounts on the subject.

Here's a simple one for you.

None one on here including students of the game like yourself, DaveF and Cowshed can work out hat Manning is trying to implement and if you guys can’t see it then what hope have the rest of us got?

The best half I’ve seen under LM was at Portman Rd when he adopted a high block and kept the opposition in their own half. Second half McKenna countered it and made the appropriate substitutions to which LM did not react despite it being obvious that Pring was struggling and wasn’t fully fit but no sign of Roberts coming on or the vastly experienced King to try and dictate the game better.

I agree that his pre and post match comments are uninspiring to say the least and I’d like hear a different voice once in a while.

LJ used let Holden do interviews and Nige let Fleming do the same.

The problem is...the players can't work it out and implement it RR.

If, and it’s a big if Manning goes on a run of defeats after the summer window after a full preseason then SL might  decide to cut his losses. However SLs strategies have been sustainability and stability and changing managers so soon after appointing them isn’t his style - we saw that with LJ who in the eyes of many should have been sacked at least a season before he was.

Manning has never won the fans over. It was a tough task to follow a well respected manager who most fans rated highly. LM has inherited an angry fanbase and was on a loser from day one.

That said - should Manning manage a run of victories next season and after 10 or 15 games are near or at the top of the table fans attitudes will automatically change - that’s the nature of us fickle football fans.

I accept what you think based on the past RR...but imo he will change tact if the losses continue and the fans become more vociferous.

He can go on a winning streak all he likes, if he does it playing Manningball, then I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.

He's boring, his football is boring.

    It won’t happen Spudski.

After sacking Nige and the criticism the hierarchy received they won’t want more egg on their faces by sacking Manning.

Remember how long SL gave LJ after more than one dreadful run of poor results?

If season tickets are poor, and he continues losing then I can't see it RR.

LJ never lost the fans this quickly. Plus he and his family are close to the Lansdowns.

  6. I really don't want to risk having him in charge next season. He'll bring in players over the summer.

Does anyone really want to risk playing like this season under him, and then find we need to sack him during next, appoint someone else and start the merry go round again?

Get him gone, get someone in at the end of this season, and get a full summer training under him in place.

I can't go through this shit again next season.

One of the better comms with the fans (& players) came from Nige P.
Clear, succinct and articulate. Wore his heart on his sleeve and 100% honest. Now we get this. Lansdowns out!

He was all of those things...he also listened, and was thoughtful, took his time to answer.

@spudski I think I’ve gone from thinking he’s really bright and is able to answer any question thrown at him…to…actually he’s just re-using a set of stock answers.  I’m not sure in some cases he is actually answering the question.

I've said this before Dave. It's just words taken from coaching manuals, put into sentences that he thinks fit the reply.

I'm sick to death of him.

Bores me senseless, and I simply don't trust what he says or what he does match day.

That last paragraph screams at me.

He's always mentioning ' Emotions'...and how to control them.

He says controlling comes with age and experience and time.

Yet they want to get rid of the experience and age, and replace with inexperienced and youth for this level.

Well…..they are better placed in the table than us so why not try to copy them? Getting Wes Burns back might help……..…:cool2:

Well it was Luton the other month...they keep mentioning other teams, yet apparently we want to achieve success doing it our own way.

You may be right about not being the right man for the job - not going to argue that.

But my point was, direct the negativity to JL - he hired him after all.

Most realise that...however, since coming in, BT has said some weird shit that hasn't helped his cause.

    Yep i totally agree.

I think he's made mistakes - but when he says he wants the best for our club i believe him.

People should direct their anger at JL - buck stops with him. He's totally clueless. At least tins has done extremely well with the academy.

What has JL ever done? other that be deluded about the level of our current squad?

Of course he wants the best for our club...he's hardly going to want the opposite.

Wanting the best for our Club doesn't mean he's the right man for the role of Technical Director.

We have an owner, JL and Gavin Marshall. None of em know **** all about managing or coaching a football team...so they will have to take all their info from BT.

What experience does BT have at making the right decisions for the first team? Academy and loan progressions yes...but not the first team. He failed massively as a manager...and simply doesn't warrant his position to basically make and inform ( in his opinion ) what is best for our first team. He is the only one in that position to do so.

Add that he is hopeless when speaking to the media and public, as is JL...then it's a poor appointment.

Gavin Marshall as CFO is spread thinner by the year. He works on Bristol Sport, HPC, Woman's Rugby, Bristol Bears, both Academy's, Bristol City Holdings, Aston Gate Ltd and the Flyers...it's a crazy situation.

The owner, JL, BT and the poor CFO.

It really is a crazy situation...backed up with a coach learning on the job and a bunch of analysts out of Uni. 🙈🙈🙈🤷

  13. Thought I'd mention it on here, the App ' First Table'...as many of the restaurants mentioned on here use it. Basically you get to book the first table available in the evening. Often between 5 and 6. You get 50% off your food bill. Used it a few times, as was apprehensive at first, however the food and service is as good as the rest of service.

If you get a 6 reservation, by the time you've ordered and had drinks, it's approx 7.

I much prefer eating in the UK earlier.

Worth giving it a go if you've never heard of it.

The Ox is on it as well ❤️❤️❤️

The issue is the racing is not even competitive so it’s been boring, the majority of G1s have been a procession. It’s no different in Ireland either, it’s not Irish dominance, it’s Willie Mullins dominance, i can’t remember exact figures, but over the G1s at DRF and chelt, Mullins has won something like 12/14 of them.

Mullins is the Red Bull of horse racing it seems.

I disagree. There is a real anti feeling about football in general, with the obscene amounts of money spent and wasted at all top levels (FIFA, Uefa, Saudi P.L) which i suspect we can all understand.

At a local level there is a realization we are unlikely to go up (FFP, Parachute etc etc) in the next 10 years although there will generally be one club per season that does break the rule. There is very little chance we will go down as other clubs are badly run, have poorer squads, will get points deducted etc.

As a Watford fan friend said to me; we had better get used to playing each other for the next decade and watching bigger clubs go below us and smallest clubs (Luton) temporarily go above us.

I cannot see why people want to take the p*** out of our club when our supporters have so much ammo to do the same with our rivals. Maybe its because the gas are no longer rivals.

Anyway, i for one have a huge amount of gratitude for the owners, love the stuff Tinns does for the club, especially bringing on academy players so our club can sell and survive. Until we know of a better potential buyer the critics of the Lansdowns should belt up, get behind the club and go to the games, like many of my mates do.

I fully appreciate you and others dont see it the way i do but that is fine. What isnt fine is to take the p*** out of our club, on a BCFC forum just to attract attention to yourself

Jeeez...do you not think everyone on here wants our club to do better?

    It's called Constructive criticism.

Fans voicing their opinions on how they see there club being run.

    We all support the team.

    We all want the best.

Fans point out the BS and constant mistakes.

They are praise when seen fit.

Your view is reflected by those in charge...as in ' shut up you Muppets, be grateful, I've built a stadium and HPC, put my son in charge with no experience, and put a Technical Director in place, who's learning on the job, but as he's been here 30 years, so **** it, might as well give it to him, even though he has no experience. Don't worry about all the decent CEOs who've left...nothing to see here...and we will be Maverick in our approach, because we believe we know best, so we'll employ another young coach who can learn on the job, just ignore we said we wanted promotion this season...anyway, as you were, be grateful...'🙈🙉🙊

I am sorely tempted to take the kids this Saturday.

@Harry don’t suppose you’d be kind enough to mark up on a map where your little lane is, for a quick getaway.

You won't get a quick getaway from FGR if you leave and go down the hill into Nailsworth.

The road from FGR to Nympsfield is pretty much a pot holed single lane with small tracks into fields or property.

The roads around the ground are all coned off by the police.

You could try the roads off of Barn field Road. Or if you don't mind a stroll up the hill, park near the George Inn. Good local friendly pub that does pizzas and used as an away pub. Always get friendly conversations with the  fans in there on match day.

On leaving ..don't use A46...go through Nympsfield and head towards Froster hill or towards Wotton Under Edge.

I'm sure he's not doing it for the money, he comes over as relishing the challenge and wanting to use his knowledge to help them and the young players and I think he wants to work with good people.

He will have earned the money if he keeps them up though, they were absolutely gone when Deeney left.

I realise that fella...but a nice incentive non the less..
